Chapter 27
Chapter 27 Don’t Talk Nonsense!
Ashley didn’t want to let the great opportunity be taken away by Elsa, she went aside to call William.
After the call was connected, Ashley asked, “William, didn’t you inform the News Department that I would be interviewing Phil today? Why did Elsa come, and the interview script is still in her hands?”
“Ashley, you should come back first,” William finally spoke. “You just entered the station and don’t have much reputation. It’s indeed not suitable for you to interview Phil. Moreover, Elsa’s new program needs some popularity, so let her handle the interview.”
Ashley’s face turned sour upon hearing this. She sounded displeased, “I’m not allowed to host the show, and I don’t have a role in the interview either. Am I supposed to be sidelined forever? I heard that Elsa and her benefactor have already broken up. Without someone supporting her from behind, what are you afraid of?”
“Enough!” William scolded in anger and sounded impatient. “She may not have anyone backing her, but she has a huge fan base. Her programs are among the top three in ratings. I asked you to work with Elsa in the show, but you insist on grabbing her limelight!”
“You can replace Elsa if you’ve been in the station for some time, why can’t you wait patiently? If you can’t wait anymore, feel free to leave. It saves me from worrying!”

After finishing his words, William hung up the phone.

Ashley was infuriated by the scolding and held the phone tightly, her face turning pale with anger.
She came to the TV station with the hope of relying on William, who was the station director, to make a big breakthrough and enter the entertainment industry. However, she unexpectedly faced constant setbacks, and all her previous popularity was completely wiped out!
Seeing Ashley’s action, Cherry guessed that she had made a call but was visibly agitated.
She raised her voice and asked, “Miss Ashley, what did the station say?”
Ashley took a deep breath and turned around. A forced smile. appeared on her face. “Elsa, the interview indeed belongs to you. I’m here just to help, I can learn from the side as well.”
As she spoke, Ashley glanced sideways at Cherry, who had just spoken. “But Elsa, why did the staff from the Editorial Department accompany you for an external interview? Does her department head know that she is going out?”
“This interview script was written by Cherry and a colleague from the News Department,” Elsa smiled faintly, not giving Ashley a chance to find their fault. “She accompanied me to ensure that Mr. Phil is satisfied with the interview script and she can make adjustments promptly if needed.”
Elsa raised an eyebrow and continued, “I have already informed the head of the Editorial Department. If you want, you can confirm it again.”

“Since you’ve informed him, forget it then,” Ashley quickly responded.
The women downstairs were talking, each with their own thoughts, while upstairs in the well–air–conditioned room, two men had just finished discussing a contract.
After signing the contract, Phil handed the documents to his secretary beside him, crossed his legs, and lazily leaned back on the couch.
He dressed casually, just like his usual self. He had a small bunch of hair tied up with a rubber band, giving him an artistic look. His well–defined features exuded a strong aura.
Phil lit a cigarette and held it between his lips before handing the cigarette case to Stan sitting across from him.
“Cigarette?”
“I’m going to the hospital later.” Stan put away the contract, revealing a sturdy wrist under his shirt.
No matter when, he always wore a suit, disciplined and seemingly ascetic.
“Daisy?” Phil sighed as if feeling sorry for Stan. “You’ve been trying for over a year, and she’s still the same, right? Why don’t you stop tormenting her and find a woman to live a good life with?”
He took a puff of his cigarette and added, “Did you really break up with Elsa? Tsk, that beauty, I bet countless men are waiting to snatch her away!”

bigshots. When Cherry sought his help, he couldn’t refuse and actually found someone for Elsa.
But then Daisy had a car accident, and Stan was in a state of depression, drinking at the club.
Phil introduced Elsa to Stan, hoping he would give up on his unrequited love and move on. Yet, here they were, a year later, and he was still fixated on Daisy.
Stan glanced at him and spoke with a cold tone, “You want to snatch her too?”

“Don’t talk nonsense!” Phil rolled his eyes at him and retorted, “I just think it’s pointless for you to be fixated on a vegetable when there are living women around. Can’t you find someone and live a good life?”
“The Swiss experts will arrive tonight.”
“And then what?” Phil asked in return, “Are you so sure they can wake Daisy up?”
Stan didn’t answer because he wasn’t certain.
Over the past year, numerous medical teams had come, and though their words were tactful, the meaning was the same. Daisy couldn’t wake up; she was a permanent vegetable.
But as long as there was a glimmer of hope to wake Daisy, he wanted to hold onto it.
Seeing him like this, Phil sneered, “See, even you’re not sure. Ah, why bother having them come? Not to mention, even if she wakes up, do you think she’ll be moved by what you’ve done? Stop dreaming!”

Even an outsider like Phil knew that Daisy was toying with Stan, exploiting his emotions, but Stan himself remained oblivious.
Stan’s brows furrowed with a chill as he grabbed his coat and stood up. “Let’s go.”
Phil kept quiet, extinguishing his cigarette and lazily followed behind Stan.
Just as the two descended the stairs, they faintly heard a woman’s voice in the foyer.
After clearly hearing the conversation among the few women, Phil chuckled and teased, “I watched the recent episode with Elsa. Those mark on her collarbone was obviously hickey! But she misled everyone purposely, making them think that it was a lipstick shade. She should work in a public relations company!”
Stan looked at the slender figure in the distance and asked Phil casually, “She suspected that her mother’s death wasn’t a suicide. Is she asking for your help?”
When Elsa first came to his side, Morton had given him her information, but he had simply tossed it aside without
looking.
On one hand, Stan felt that Elsa always faked herself and kept her distance from him, so it didn’t matter whether he looked at her information or not.
It wasn’t until recently when Stan discovered Elsa’s connection with Ryan that he finally opened the long-
forgotten file and flipped through Elsa’s information page by
page.

He learned about her family background and her mother’s suicide.
“It’s because you were unwilling to help. So, she asked Cherry to contact me for assistance,” Phil shrugged, his tone still lazy.
“There was surveillance at the location where Elsa’s mother committed suicide, but unfortunately, it was broken at that time, so the police couldn’t find anything. Later, she found out that her mother had made a phone call before her death. However, Wise Telecom refused to disclose any information, citing user privacy protection,” Phil explained.
Stan’s eyes flickered, “If she had directly approached me for help, I wouldn’t have refused.”
However, Elsa had previously inquired about his connections, which made him averse to her. He didn’t respond, and it seemed that Elsa was also afraid of angering him and never crossed the line again.
“I suppose she wanted to be straightforward but was afraid that it would reveal her intention to be with you, and you would push her away,” Phil speculated. “At that time, her mother had committed suicide, and she was kicked out by the Miller family. You are the only person who can help her, and the Miller family wouldn’t dare to retaliate against you.”
Phil put his hand on Stan’s shoulder and smiled mischievously, “If you want to help, it’s always not too late. I’ll meet the manager of Wise Telecom at the club tonight. If your show up, the manager will probably be more willing to help.”
