The Remorseful Brothers Novel

Chapter 236

Chapter 236

Madeline wished she could just bury her head in the ground. With no other choice, she could only press her head against Gavin’s chest to avoid dying of embarrassment,

The girl petite in stature, looked irresistibly cute and charming nestled in Gavin’s arms,

“So cute.” Gavin remarked as he ruled her hair, “you little one.”

Just as he finished speaking, he felt a sharp pinch on his waist. It hurt so much his expression changed. He quickly grabbed Madeline’s hand and burried her to the classroom.

If he kept joking around, that weak spot at his waist would definitely be spared. Cute little one? More like a Berce tigress. Gavin said to himself in his heart.

During the evening class meeting, everyone sat quietly waiting.

Christopher hadn’t arrived yet.

Madeline propped up her chin with a tablet in front of her, reading a script and taking notes with a stylus.

Harper, on the other hand, was bored and watching online courses on her phone, preparing for the May certification exam

More than twenty minutes passed before someone arrived.

Daisy entered the classroom n with a smile. She said. “Hello everyone, I’m your new counselor, Daisy Green. I’ve just returned from abroad, a few years older than you, and I’m 25. Since this is our first meeting, how about we start with some introductions?she suggested.

“Madeline, it’s really her! What’s the doing in our class!” Harper exclaimed, visibly surprised,

The class president, Harley, asked curiously. “Ms. Green, wasn’t Mr. Christopher supposed to be our counselor?

Daisy smiled warmly, her gaze sweeping across the room, then she said, “He was, but as of today, it’s me. If all goes well, I will be with you until you graduate.

Everyone started to introduce themselves. They’d already had one at the start of the term

Even though they had been in the same class for nearly half a year, most of them haven’t spoken or even know each other.

Madeline didn’t think much of it, but when her turn came, her classmates were unusually excited

“Hi everyone, I’m Madeline,” she introduced herself. Unlike at the beginning of the school year, now I’m not just a student but also an actress.

Harper watched from ber seat, impressed by Madeline’s confident introduction.

Someone whispered, “Madeline’s gone into acting? Does she have any roles yet?”

“No idea, you might want to Google it, someone suggested

“I checked, she’s already filmed ‘Fake Confessions and wow, she’s the second female lead! Camille’s the lead and Yohannes is the male lead?” someone exclaimed excitedly.

“Wow, she’s already filming with Camille and Yohannes” That’s amazing, someone said with surprise.

“I saw she’s also in ‘Cheers. I’ve been eagerly waiting for this movie, can’t believe she’s in it too, another voice said.

“I think we should get some photos with her while she’s still at school. Who knows, when she becomes famous, we might not get another chance. someone suggested.

Madeline finished her introduction and was about to step off the stage.

Smiling at her, Daisy complimented. “Madeline, your career plan is very clear. 1 believe your future will be very exciting.”

Madeline smiled back and said. “Thank you, Ms. Green”

Daisy nodded and said, “After class, let’s take a picture together. Just like t

the students said, In a few years, this will be a celebrity photo.”

Everyone burst into laughter.

Madeline felt a bit shy and pressed her lips together. She answered, “Thank you all for your support”

After the class meeting ended, many people took pictures with Madeline.

Chapter 236

They usually didn’t interact much with Madeline, not because they didn’t like her, but because she seemed too distant. She wasn’t often at school, which added to her mysterious charm. This was an opportunity to get closer to her.

As Madeline was packing to leave, she checked the new contacts on her WhatsApp and noticed one was Daisy Green

Daisy’s WhatsApp profile picture was a photo of herself. In the photo, she was standing by the sea, wearing a blue and white striped outfit, leaning against the railing with her hair blowing in the wind. It was a beautiful photo, though the outfit seemed a little unusual.

Madeline accepted the friend request from Daisy. Then she casually walked out of the classroom with her backpack slung over her shoulder.

Outside, Gavin was waiting.

Leaning against the corner pillar, half in shadow and light, Gavin complained, “Maddie, the class meeting took forever. It’s just ending now.”

He extended a hand and said. “Let me carry your bag for you.”

Madeline handed over her bag without hesitation. “We have a new counselor, and she’s qu

quite beautiful,” she remarked.

Gavin playfully pinched her cheek. “I don’t care how beautiful other people are. I only know Maddie is the most beautiful, all over the world,” said

Cavin.

Madeline gave him a light punch and teased, “Looks like you’ve been soaking in a honey jar for a few months, instead of being at a remote base. With such sweet words, are you up to something“”

“How could I be?” Gavin said, taking Madeline’s bag. “Are you hungry?

wry? Let me tre

me treat you to a late–night snack

Madeline rubbed her stomach, realizing it had been a while since she’d had a late–night snack.

She frowned and said, “Better not. I have filming over the summer break, and it’ll be bad if I look too chubby on camera.”

That’s months away. We can worry about that later, Gavin replied, suddenly curious, “How’s your work going lately? Still smooth sailing?”

Madeline chatted with him as they walked. Things are going well. For some reason, lots of projects are coming my way, like everyone sees potential in me” “Logically speaking.. she stroked her chin, puzzled, “I haven’t even released any work yet.”

Gavin thought about it and realized it probably wasn’t just him spreading the word. He had no clue who else might be handling things behind the

scenes.

But there was no need to overthink it. Madeline was the only beloved sister they had. Who wouldn’t spoil her? No one wanted to see Madeline suber.

If they didn’t make arrangements, what if Madeline ran into an unreliable film crew and got taken advantage of Gavin couldn’t bear the thought of his little sister struggling out there.

He changed the subject and asked, “What do you want for a late–night snack? Barbecue? Skewers! Scew?”

“Stew, maybe?” Madeline pondered, resting her chin on her hand. “It’s still a bit chilly at night; a stew will warm us right up. Are we heading back to the apartment tonight, or the house?” asked Madeline.

Gavin was back now, so there was no way he’d let his little lamb go back to the wolf’s den. “Definitely the apartment. It’s too late and tiring to drive back house,” said Gavin.

Madeline nodded. Nolan also gave her a large house, but she wasn’t too fond of its original decor, so it was currently being renovated. Otherwise. she could have just moved into the penthouse there,

Madeline walked alongside Gavin, their shadows stretching long under the streetlights.

Under the classroom building, Daisy watched them walk away, a smile playing on her lips that left its meaning open to interpretation.

“It’s been a while, Gavin. Long time no see, Madeline, Daisy whispered.

There was no trace of malice in her eyes, only a mysterious and complex smile that made it hard to guess her thoughts.

Christopher ran over hurriedly and said, “Hey, Daisy. I’m here. Want to grab a late–night snack together?”

“No thanks, I’m into my beauty sleep, Dalay gave Christopher a glance and said. The mission has been achieved, and this man has no value anymore. Daisy thought

She said indifferently. “If you have nothing else going on, you might as well head home and get some rest
