The Reckoning of Love Chapter 42
Chapter 42 Thomas’ Warning
Sophia tugged on her lips, not knowing how to describe what she felt.
As Joseph walked out of the elevator and looked at Sophia, he felt his heart sink to his stomach for reasons unbeknownst to him.
“Leave the project to Thomas and go back to Cleyrora with me.”
Sophia reached out and took her phone back from his hands, then raised her head to look at him, her glistening eyes completely crystal clear and free of any emotions.
“No thanks”
Just as she was about to retract her hand, Joseph caught it in his

I’m not afraid.” Sophia was unfazed by his words. “If I can’t even handle something like this, how can I think about being a CEO?“
“Soph…
“Don’t call me that!” She swung her hand out of Joseph’s grip, causing him to freeze.
“What are you going back to Cleyrora for? Why do you want me to go with you?” she demanded.
Joseph gave her an intense stare before he said coldly, “You really don’t know what’s good for you.” Upon saying that, he turned around and strode away, leaving Sophia in place.
She thought to herself. This is the last time, isn’t it? He won’t bother me anymore, right?
The restaurant Thomas booked a table at was right next to the hotel, and he had already arrived.
He was surprised by Joseph’s appearance in Edgeminster and the fact that he was with Sophia. He knew that Louise had already arrived at Cleyrora and the two families were preparing for the engagement party and that they had even haired the media and were about to announce their relationships to the public in the
near future
Just as he was thinking to himself. Sophia showed up

Sophia stared at him “Mr. Ulmer, that’s a weird question. Since when have I dated Joseph How would I get back together with him!”
Thomas was unable to reply. Miss Yancey has really gotten sharper, hasn’t she?
“I admire you, Miss Yancey,” he said as he picked up the teapot and poured a cup of hot tea for her. “I’ve seen the matters at Harvest and the overall planning of this project. You’re very capable.”
“Just get to the point. What are you beating around the bush for?”
Thomas laughed at her biting remark.
“All right, then I’ll get to the point.” He stared at her. “Don’t cling onto Joseph anymore. The marriage between the Lynch Family and the Hathaway Family involves a large scale of benefits, and both families are viewing this matter very seriously…”
“Thomas, you’re overestimating me.” Sophia chuckled exasperatedly. “I’ve been completely clear-headed for the past five years, but you, on the other hand, seem quite confused. I’m just Hannah’s replacement. Besides, you’ve already said that the marriage between Joseph and the Hathaway Family is extremely important, so why would you think that he would jeopardize those benefits for my sake?”
“I’m just afraid that he might make her jealous without realizing it,” Thomas replied succinctly.
Sophia retracted her gaze and lowered her eyes. Thomas had a point-she didn’t understand Louise at all. After all, how many women could accept their husbands having a relationship with other women? Even if she was a pushover and was able to bear with it, could the same be said for the Hathaway Family?
“I know what to do,’ she replied indifferently.
It seemed that she had to leave Cleyrora after ending her trip to Edgeminster.
After finishing dinner, Sophia got straight to business and discussed the situation at the construction site with Thomas. However, he took up most of the conversation while she listened intently, taking many notes of his words.
Just as their meeting was about to end. Thomas asked, “I heard that you received death threats?”
Sophia hummed in agreement. “I don’t think we need to have a meeting with Gavin anymore. Call him and tell him to head straight to the venue tomorrow.”
