Chapter I'm not leaving without you
As we came closer to the spot where the battle is held, I started to curse more and more. Darks were everywhere I was looking and it looks like more of them are coming. We can’t kill them all, that’s for sure, but we need to safe Sharpedon, Hazel, Lincoln and Aiden.
My mind was running fast trying to find a strategy, but for once in my life I had nothing. They are too many and we can use the forest as our advantage. We have to blindly walk right through them, get those 4 idiots and run back to H.I.D.E, after we pray to the Lord that we’ll make it out alive.
Bolt, you can take over, but you’ll let me do the talking if it’s necessary.
Yup. Got it.
After I learnt how to balance my both sides, me and Bolt can control our body at the same time since we are the same person. How we can do this it’s still freaking me out a little and confusing me, but right now I have no time for worrying about stupid things. My friends need me.
Bolt took over as soon as the first Dark charged at us. She pulled out the gun I managed to take before we exited the building, and shoot him right in the head.
“That was easy.” she mumbled with an evil smirk.
We don’t have time for that! Go and safe them and after that you can shower yourself with compliments.
“Fine, fine.” she pooped her knuckles and bolted past Darks, making her way to the middle of their circle. Some of them tried to stop her, but a bullet was just enough to make them shut up for eternity.
This is a very well prepared plan. The person who came up with this plan is smart as fuck and knows how things are working around H.I.D.E. He/she knew that Blast will send someone from our team to see what’s up with those 2 newbies. With this plan, that person is shooting two birds with one shoot. Conqueres H.I.D.E and kills one of our royals. Or at last he/she is trying because nobody will die. Not under my command.
Bolt somehow ran passed all those Darks until she was in the very center of the circle. It wasn’t so hard since a part of them were heading towards the main building and I prayed that Blast will know what to do.
I hate so fucking much how they tricked us so easily and how our lifes are so close to be ended.
Hearing my thoughts, Bolt gripped the gun tighter as she shooted two Darks that were fighting with Aiden. He looked at her and gestured for her to look behind. She turned around and hit the Dark in the face with the gun and shooted him when he lost his balance.
"Everyone come back. This is Blast and we are aborting the mission and moving. Everyone who is still breathing and capable of moving needs to come right now in the residential zone, between Block C and Block D.” Blast’s voice came through the earphone and I tensed at his words.
Bolt yelled in frustration and looked around to spot the 4 guys. Aiden was already heading back, Hazel and Sharpedon got rid of 3 Darks and were following Aiden, but she couldn’t spot Lincoln. Suddenly, a scream covered the noise made by guns and bones breaking, and I immediately recognised who’s voice was.
Lincoln!
The scream came from somewhere to the left, deeper into the woods with not so many Darks in there.
Bolt turned around and ran in his direction, pushing, punching, kicking and shooting any Dark that tried to stop her. Determination filled our veins as she made her way through the ocean of Darks.
How can she be so calm and determinate in this moments is above me. If I was me, my heart would be beating very fast and my palms would be sweating like fuck at the simple thought of Lincoln dieing. From the outside, all you can see if how confident and determinate I am, while in my head and worrying and I’m still trying to make some kind of miraculous plan to save us all, but it’s futile.
Lincoln was cornered by 3 Darks which I recognised of being part of The Black Thorns. All 3 of them are pretty good if you’re fighting with them separately, but all 3 of them against one is simply impossible to win. Two earth and one fire against one snow. And now against lightning too.
Bolt dropped the gun since it would be pointless to keep it in a fight against earth Darks. She charged at the first earth one who’s back was facing us. He didn’t hear her and she smirked as she grabbed his head with her hands and twisted it until a sick and loud cracked was heard. His body became numb and fell on the ground.
Now I could see Lincoln. His back was against a tree, his head was bleeding a little too fast and his right leg was burned. He was leaning against the tree for support with a white shield in front of him.
This time, angered filled my veins and Bolt tackled the fire Dark who was constantly throwing balls of fire in Lincoln’s shield. Fire boy raised his hands to punch Bolt, but she smirked evily and grabbed his jaw whole sending waves of electricity through that hand. He started to scream while trying to push her away, but the grip on his jaw was too strong. Finally, he stopped moving and she raised on her feet only to be sent in the nearby tree. The earth Dark threw a wall made of earth at her back, making her to fly for a short time. She went right through the tree and fell on the ground holding her shoulder. A part of the tree stuck into her shoulder. With shaky finger she pulled the piece of wood out with a groan. She heard the Dark running in her direction and she raised on her feet and when she turned around, she threw the wood at him. He cached it just in time, but this was just a distraction. Bolt throw one of her lightning bolts at him, but he made a wall of earth and stopped it.
“Shadow, what the fuck are you doing? You heard Blast! Go after them as long as you can!”
Lincoln’s voice rang in my mind as Bolt ran towards the Dark.
“I’m not leaving you dumpass here!” I hissed at him as Bolt ran in zigzag avoiding all his attacks. He made spikes of earth appear where he thought that Bolt would be, but she’s too fast.
“You’re fucking crazy! I can’t walk! I’m already dead, but you can escape! LEAVE.”
He shouted back and I wanted to slap some sense into him. Bolt avoided his last attack since she was now too close for him to make another attack. She raised her fist to punch his, but he created another wall in front of him, blocking her fist.
"NO. I’m not leaving without you.”
She hissed and kicked the wall making it crumble down in pieces. Her hand was once again up, this time to throw a lightning, but as soon as the wall fallen, his right foot collided with the left side of her head. She lost her balance for a second and he saw that as an opportunity to start another attack, but she dropped herself on the ground. Using her back and elbows for support, she raised her legs and kicked him right in his chest. All the lungs left his lungs as he fell on the ground. Bolt hurried to him and sent a punch to his face, but he rolled on his side avoiding it. She placed her foot on his back to stop him.
“We are leaving in 2 minutes. If there is someone else still alive hurry up because we are leaving in 2 minutes.”
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. FUCK.
“SHADOW. LEAVE RIGHT NOW.”
She used her other foot and slammed it on his neck, making him to stop moving.
Finally, he died.
Bolt turned to Lincoln. “I already told you that I’m not leaving without you. I’m not losing anyone here. Now, come on. We have to hurry.”
He couldn’t even lean against the tree. He was on the ground, breathing hard with drops of sweat covering his forehead. “I can’t fucking move! Are you out of your God damn mind?! I’ll only slow you down! And I’m already dieing! You still have a chance! Just fucking go!”
She rolled her eyes and forced him on her back for a piggy back ride. “I’m already fast and you’re not that heavy so we can still make it. And you’re not dieing. You’ll be fine.” I said trying to sound strong, but I was scared shitless for him. Bolt gripped his legs and started to run as fast as she could.
He scoffed and hold on her shoulders, but his grip was very weak. “I’m dieing, Shadow. Even if you like it or not. The wound of my leg is full of poison and they shoot me with something.”
“What? But don’t have a bullet wound.”
He rested his head on top of mine. “That’s the problem. It was a little thing like a tranquilliser, but it’s supposed to make me sleep forever.” he said breathless and I could see how tired he is.
I shook my head. “No. We’ll get there on time and they will cure you. You won’t die. You can’t die. You will stay here with me, even if you like it or not.”
The main building was coming to our view, but we have to go at the residential area. Bolt went to the left trying to ignore the number of dead bodies in front of the building. Some were still fighting with the Darks, but it’s useless.
“I can’t-” suddenly something hit them from the right and both of them fell on the ground. She hissed and looked at her arm. Someone threw a fire ball.
Bolt got up and turned around. A tall red haired girl was grinning from ear to ear at us, giving her a feral look.
“Time to have fun.” the girl said and threw another ball of fire. Bolt jumped over it and took off running.
“We don’t have time for this.” she growled through clenched teeth.
“Shadow if you fucking leave me here, you’d be there on time! Just leave me!” Lincoln tried to yell at me, but he was too weak and I feel his body starting to become numb.
“I SAID NO. So just stop it Lincoln! I’m not leaving you here! I can’t!” I yelled back desperate, on the average of tears. I can’t let him here! He’s my brother and my twin. I can’t lose him.
With shaky hands, he grabbed my shirt in his weak grip. “I love you, Shadow. I love you and I don’t want to leave you neither, but I have too. I can’t stay awake anymore, but you till have time. You have to survive and fucking end this shit. You can do this sis. You have the power and motivation. Make me even more proud of you sis. Promis me that you won’t give up until everything is done.” his voice was barely audible even if he was talking next to my ear.
Tears fell down my cheeks which were blazing from anger and sadness. “I promise you. I promise you that I’ll make this stupid war end so innocent people won’t die anymore. I’ll do this even if this is the last thing I’ll do.” I said with my voice full of determination and I squeezed his hand while glancing at him.
He squeezed my hand one last time and smiled at me with his characteristic warm and calm smile, before his eyes closed and I felt his body becoming limp on my back.
I bit my lips to stop the scream I wanted so bad to let out. Block A appeared in front of me and yet no more Dark tried to attack me. Bolt slowed down and placed Lincoln down, her hands shaking slightly. She glanced back and when she saw no-one, she started to run again. She could already see people gathered at the decided meet point. They were passing through what looks like a portal.
As she almost passed Block A, a group of Darks appeared from the right side of the building. She glanced back where everyone was and saw our friends looking at us and motion us to hurry. The Darks only saw Bolt, not even once looking behind them. She looked at our friends and shook her head ‘No’. Darks ran towards her and she took a sharp turn and ran back into the forest.
“We can’t let them see the portal. We have to distract them until all if them pass through the portal.”
I know Bolt. And this is exactly what we will do.
The group was formed of 5 or 6 Darks, but none of them was as fast as Bolt. Yes, they were trying to hit her with their element, but it looks like Dodge isn’t such an useless game anymore.
“She is the one. Let’s go.”
I heard one of them saying, but I don’t know what in the name of God that means.
She jumped over a fallen tree, when something hit her neck. It wasn’t a bullet because if it was, we should be dead. Her legs wobbled a little and her running slowed down. She brought her hand to her neck and felt some stuck there. With a sharp move she took the think and saw what looks like a tranquilliser.
FUCK. Bolt they used that thing on Lincoln too.
Bolt tried to push her legs faster, but they weren’t responding. “No. This is a true tranquilliser. They want to catch us.”
Another dart hit her neck. She hissed and her legs almost gave out, but she pushed on them more. Her pace was slowing down even more and she could hear them coming closer and closer. As our last chance, she jumped and grabbed on a big branch of a tree, to hide. Her body felt weak and her visit started to get blurry.
“We can do it.” she whispered as she tried to placed her right leg on the branch, but the last dart hit her neck. Her arms gave out and she fell on the ground uncapable of moving. Soon, their footsteps stopped and through her blurred vision, she saw them looking down at her.
The last thing I remember is someone grabbing me by my shirt and starting to drag me somewhere.
