Chapter A fake memory?
I plopped down on the sofa with my blanket wrapped around me and a bowl of popcorn mixed M&M’s and Skittles. If someone, *cough*Hazel and Leaf *cough*, wouldn’t have eaten all the ice cream from the refrigerator, now I would have my special recipe for chilly days and marathon nights. I like to call it Rainbow because it has all the color in it. Tonight I’m watching American Horror Story because I really want to finish the first season and I’m dying to see if at last one person will still be alive at the end of this season. I have 2 episodes left and I don’t know if I should be happy or I should cry.
2 hours later
“This is bullshit! Oh, come on! Why did you had to kill literally everyone! Even that poor retarded girl! She was a sweetheart and she never deserved that! That so cruel and evil. And people are saying that I’m evil.” I said angry as I turned off the TV.
Someone yawned and I turned to look at the stairs. Here was standing a very sleepy Sharpedon rubbing his eyes. He looked so cute doing that, that I wanted to pinch his cheeks.
“Shadow what are you doing here in the middle of the night.” he mumbled half asleep.
“I wanted to finish my American Horror Story season. And I’m dessapointed. It ended like fuck.” I said with a pout and looked at him and his blue pyjama.
“Go to bed. Tomorrow we have a mission and you have to come back in force and for that you need to rest. Go to bed.”
I scoffed. “I have insomnia, Gaze. I can’t just go to bed. Sometimes I stay awake the whole night, but don’t worry. I’m used to it and tomorrow I’ll be as fresh as a daisy and I’ll kick some asses.”
He frowned. “You can’t take some sleeping pills or something?”
I tsked. “Tried once. I didn’t worked.”
He sighed. “At last try to sleep and if you can’t at last keep the noise down and let the others rest. I heard you from my room yelling at the TV.”
“Yeah, yeah. I get it. Go to bed and no more noise. I’m going to stare at my ceiling in silence. Goodnight.” I said and waved my hand at him as he glared at me.
“Fine. I’ll go back to my heaven. Goodnight, Red.” he said and walked back upstairs in his room.
I waited until I heard his bedroom door slam shut and laid down on the couch.
Tomorrow it’s my first mission since I came back in the team and I’m super excited. More Darks appeared in Boltmountain, but this time they aren’t so close to us. In human world we are somewhere in France and Darks came to Germany. We found out that their biggest base from our region is there and we are planning an attack to take our region back. People here started to revolt and more than half of the region is on our side. Tomorrow the base will be less protected since most of the army is going south to conquer a part of Firegate (Africa), along with Calamity. He spent the last month at the base barking orders around and making sure that everything will be perfect for their attack.
Think again bitch.
I’m so excited for this mission and it’s not just because I’m coming back, but also that all of us will be there. The last weeks were very busy here since our fusion with the other rebellion. For example, Iron and Python are showing everyone around and they’re also teaching them a few things from fighting and spells to how to treat a wound and some history. Most of them already knew how to fight, but they can do better. Flame is helping with the building of the new houses and the new floor from H.I.D.E, since our number suddenly grew and we don’t have enough space for everyone. River is teaching the kids since he adores kids and loves teaching. Ash was dealing with ‘the troublemakers’ and he does one hell of a good job. One hour with him and the devils turn into angels. Sparky and Windy are choosing the design of the new houses and the furniture while Sirius and Sky are working at a bigger network platform. One that will cover the whole building and all the houses. Hazel and Leaf are watching over the little kids after their school hours until their parents come to pick them up. And of course the kids love those 2 clowns. I was dealing with the rebellious youths that are refusing the treatment and they are so many, but thank God that some of them are smarter enough to understand the importance of those treatments and I’m not seeing them 3 times a week, unlikely others. Sharpedon isn’t leaving his office too much since he has to do papers after papers. We only see him when we eat and at practice, but that’s all. And there is Black who isn’t helping us with anything. He’s only walking aimlessly around the main building ‘keeping an eye on the new people’. Right.
I watched him for the past week, but he was a good boy. Nothing cached my eye and I don’t know if it’s a good thing. Only one time I caught him coming home at 1 AM, but as soon as he touched the sofa he was out cold. He was drunk. Due to our fast metabolism, from the moment we drink a good amount of alcohol, we’ll black out in 3 hours because our body sees the alcohol as a wound or poison so he’s shutting himself down to speed up the healing process.
Cool, I know.
I turned around on the sofa and snuggled into the blanket. I felt something on my leg and when I raised my leg, I saw Ray sleeping with his head on my leg. He always sleeps with his head in my lap, on my hand or on my leg and I find it very cute and sweet. He’s a sweetheart even if I have to run after him every morning since he steals my socks and runs around with them. Sometimes I think that he likes to see me struggling.
Slowly, my eyelids stared to close and soon I was in my happy la la land.
I tied the cape around the collar of the leather jacket and stared at myself in the mirror. Now, when I really look at myself I can see how much I changed in 2 years. My light blue eyes turned a shade darker, my ash blonde hair is somewhere at the boundarie of blonde and brown which silver reflexes in the sun, and my skin is even more paler. Aiden said that this happens after I accepted Bolt as a part of me. A part of her became a part of me along with some of her looks, darker eyes and darker hair.
Damn. We look so sexy in this uniform.
That’s right bitch. We are drop dead gorgeous.
I turned around and headed downstairs with a smile on my face. I missed the feeling of the leather against my skin and the sound that my cape does while I walk.
“Who’s ready to kick some asses??” I yelled and raised my fist into the air as I skipped the last 2 stairs.
Whistles, yes’s and many other excited yells were herd and they follow my movement and raised their fists.
“Then let’s fucking go!”
We headed outside were the airplane was waiting for us. Their base isn’t so fair away to use a plane, but it’s safer to go there through the air than walking there. We can bump into them along the way and everything would be ruined.
The outside of the plane is blue with clouds draw in random places for camouflage. It’s a smart idea and I never thought about something like that. On the interior, the walls were cream with a royal blue carpet that matches the color of the chairs. On the back of each chair there was a little screen and a you can either watch a movie or plug your earphones in and listen to music. On the left said were 2 and 2 pairs of seats face to face with a little table in the middle in case you want to play some games or in Ash’s case, you can rest your feet on. Pig. Anyway, the seats are so soft that I feel like going to sleep anytime. Under the seat there’s a fluffy blanket in case you want to take a shirt nap and an eye mask. On the right side the seats were exactly like the ones from a normal plane, in line. At the end of the plane is a mini bar and a snack bar with everything you can ever wish. I personally love this plane. I can move here and I’ll live happily ever after.
I took a Lion from the bar and took a seat on the right side since I didn’t felt like playing any kind of game. Outside is starting to get colder and colder, and the blue sky is well hidden behind big gray clouds which predict a very bad weather. One not very good for flying or so I thought. The plane took off and flied until it passed the gray clouds and the bright blue sky was right in front of my eyes. I smiled as I rested my head on the window.
“I see that someone is in a very good mood. Why so?”
I shrugged. “No reason.”
He hummed. “So it’s not because some certain bitch is back in business and ready to fight.”
My smile grew. “Okay, fine. You got me here, Gaze. I’m super excited and I’m ready for a good fight. This one month felt like ages!” I whined and looked at him.
He chuckled. “If you don’t want to stay another month behind, be a good girl and listen to what I say.”
“Actually, I’m the co-leader which means that you have to consult me before you make any decisions.” I said as a matter of fact and smiled at him.
He glared at me. “This goes both ways, Red.”
I placed a hand on my heart. “Of course it does. I would never do something without asking you first, Gaze.” I raised my hand.
“Yes?” he asked and rolled his eyes.
“Can I go to the bathroom?” I asked with my innocent face.
He scoffed. “Shadow, I’m damn serious here. There’s no time for playing here.”
“I know that idiot! But I can’t ask your permission for literally anything. You need to trust me that I won’t do something stupid. I only made a stupid decision once and that’s enough for me to make a mental note to think twice before I make another decision.” I crossed my arms and looked outside.
He sighed. “I know that. It’s just that I’m not used to the way you act in battles. You are more spontaneous and you make decisions quicker than me. And this makes it to look like you don’t think very much about what you’re about to do, but now I know that you do. I already told you, Shadow, that I trust and belive you.” he said with a small smile and honesty in his voice.
I nodded my head. “Good. And this goes both ways, Sharp.” he scoffed as I quoted him and I chuckled.
Please, put your seat belts on. We are landing in 5 minutes.
My watch says that we only took 30 minutes to arrive in Germany from France? How much I love Elementar technology.
The plane landed so smoothly that I didn’t even felt when the tires hit the ground. Yeah, that’s because it never did. We don’t have where to land so we need to jump from a distance of 10 meters. Great.
I made my mask appear and glance down. In 10 meters I can become as smashed as smashed potatoes. All I can see under me are trees, trees and more fucking tall trees.
“Come on. Jump or I’ll push you.” Sharpedon said as he placed a hand in my back.
“NO. Don’t you dare to fucking push me!” I yelled at him panicked.
He raised his hands. “Then jump.”
I took a deep breath and jumped. My cape was moving in all directions as the air was swirling around my ears making me temporary deaf. I was waiting to feel the pain as my feet were about to crash into the tree, but they went right through it along with my whole body. The trees were just an illusion, hiding the clearing I just landed not very gently on. Next to me landed Sharpedon gracefully without making a single sound. I frowned and started to worry about me. A guy landed 4 times gently than me and I’m a girl. Meh. At last I know that I’m clumsy and this will make it for now.
Sharpedon clapped his hands to get our attention. “Listen up everyone! The base is right across this field behind those woods. Shocking or not, they chose a forest as a barrier between them and the world. At the entrance of the forest we will meet with another 20 people. They came from the nearby city to help us and you have to treat them like one of us and protect them. They want to help us so we are helping them back by protecting them. Any questions?”
A chorus of no was heard and he nodded his head. “Then let’s go. Let’s not waist more time.”
Everybody started to walk across the large field in silence. All of us were caught in our heads giving us a little encourage speech or simply spacing out to make time pass faster. I was looking around since I felt like someone is watching me. Call me paranoid, but something feels off. If we are so close to their base, guards should be on patrol and don’t tell me that we were so lucky that we arrived when they are on a break because we never are this lucky. By the way Sharpedon looks everywhere, he must observed that something is wrong.
We entered the forest, but there’s no trace of any person so let’s not talk about 20. I took a left to examine the zone when I tried on a tree branch. Or so I thought. I gasped when I saw that I didn’t tripped on a branch. I tripped on a dead body. As I looked closely to the ground, I saw 5 dead bodies around me and my blood run cold.
They knew that we were coming. It’s impossible for 2 patrol guards to kill 5 people that were hidden behind the trees and bushes.
I ran back where everyone is. “GUYS! We have a very big problem. They know.”
Sharpedon nodded. “I know. I saw the bodies. Let’s go back before they find us.”
We made it to the clearing. We were almost there when they appeared. They surrounded us and in front of us stepped the 2 people I hate the most.
“Well, well, well. Am I hallucinating or that one over there is Bolt? Long time no see darling.” Spike said with a smirk.
I scoffed and showed his the royal finger. “Go to hell and fuck off, Spike.”
“Why are so you rude with me? You see? She always does this!” he said to the person next to me and I froze.
Please don’t be him. Please. Please.
He looked at me with his dark blue eyes. “I see that and I can’t understand what my son saw in this little snobby bitch.”
“Who the fuck are you to call her names fuck face?” Sharpedon growled at him while I just stared.
He smirked. “Why don’t you tell them who I am, Black?”
Black walked passed us, bumping his shoulder with mine and stopped right beside him.
“He’s my dad or how people know him, Calamity. And he’s here to teach you a lesson.” he said glaring at me.
I scoffed. “Only my father can teach me any kind of lesson so fuck the fuck off. You don’t scare me.” I snapped back.
Calamity chuckled. “You have the same arogant personality as your father and I’m going to teach you the same lesson I gave him before I killed him. Don’t be so full of yourself.”
What the fuck? He’s trying to get to me, but it’s not working. I’m too smart for his little tricks. I remember every detail.
“You didn’t killed my parents. Some random Darks killed them. I was there.” I glared at him.
“Oh, really? Then why I have this?” he said and raised his head making me froze once again.
In his hand was a little platinum ring with a big M on the red stone from the middle. That was my father’s ring and it is passed from generation to generation. I remember my dad never pulling his ring out. He said that his ring will go to one of us, his children.
But how he got a hold of that ring? He couldn’t have killed them. They died that day, behind our house, in the garden. I remember everything. Every single detai-I don’t remember everything. I only remember that day and after my mom touches my face I can’t remember a thing. Could all of it be fake? A fake memory? If yes, then why would they do that and what actually happened? I have so many questions.
Everyone was dead silent, waiting for my reaction, but I won’t give him the satisfaction to see how much this affects me because this is exactly what he wants. He has a great strategy. He knows that if you win the verbal fight, the violent one is already won. If you break your enemy’s mind, you’ll break his body too because the mind is everything.
I shook my head and glared at him. “That means nothing. It could be a copy for all I care. Now let’s fight if you are so good as you say. But my opinion is that you are exactly like your son. All talking no biting.”
His face turned red in anger. “You little bitch. I’d love to kill you, but that’s my son’s job. Don’t mess it.” the last one was directed to Black as he dissappear in thin air.
“FIGHT.” Black yelled and the hell broke.
Oh, sweet noodles. Things are going from bad to hell.
