The Reborn Wife Strikes Back ( Gordon Holmes’ )

Chapter 24

Chapter 24

“Taylor, whether you’re willing or not, you’ll have to concede,” Gordon declared, his determination stronger than ever.

As he spoke, I felt a piercing pain from his firm grip on my wrist.

“Is all this just for Nora?” I looked up at him, my gaze filled with sorrow, finding no trace of marital affection in his eyes.

“I’ve made her a promise, and I’ll see it through,” he spoke with conviction, seemingly disregarding I was

his wife.

His words were a scalpel, dissecting my self–worth with each cruel syllable.

Thankfully, the embers of affection had died, shielding me from the full brunt of his emotional abuse.

Otherwise, even the strongest heart would bleed under such cruelty, wouldn’t it?

“The deeper your affection for her becomes, the more opposed I am to this. Further discussion is pointless, Gordon. If you’re so determined, by all means, bring on the lawyers!”

It was pointless to keep up the pretense. I worried that if I stayed any longer, I’d show my fragility in front

of him as I used to.

Once more, I pushed him away, forcefully removing his hand from my wrist, and fled the private room.

I reached my car, pressing the key to unlock the door. But to my surprise, Gordon followed me out.

He blocked my path, looking at me with those deep eyes that once held me spellbound.

He questioned coldly, “Do you really want to challenge me? Believe me, I would suspend all projects with Radglo, Corp.”

Could Gordon have genuinely forgotten that my family was his pillar of support during his crucial time of need, enabling the Holmes Group to be what it was in the present?

These weren’t just business transactions but were a longstanding partnership’s foundation, further cemented by our familial ties.

Even if not for personal reasons, one should consider the broader implications, right?

Yet, just for the sake of a woman, he was abruptly halting projects with Radglo Corp.!

My heart inexplicably turned cold!

Facing the man before me, his intimidating gaze made me question what I ever found appealing in him.

What about this heartless, merciless man was worth the sacrifices I made in the past?

“The partnership between Holmes Group and Radglo Corp. benefits both, not just Radglo Corp. If you Insist on ending them, I can’t stop you. But I wonder how you’ll justify this to your father,” I countered coldly.

Though I was not yet a master of business dynamics, I understood that our marriage was not just about the two billion dollars from my family.

It was also because my grandparents–in–law recognized the potential in Radglo Corp., aiming for a merger of equals.

Despite Radglo Corp. facing some challenges, it still stood strong publicly.

My grandparents–in–law would hardly support Gordon in antagonizing my family at this juncture.

“Using my father as leverage against me, huh?” Gordon’s eyes darkened with further fury at my words. Taylor, you’ve truly become someone I cannot overlook lately.”

I smiled thinly, ignoring the scorn in his voice.

I replied, “Regardless of your perspective, I am dedicated to this project!”

“Taylor, my tolerance is not without limit-”

“Gordon, step aside!”

“I have no desire to argue here. Come back with me!”

“I’m heading to my parents‘ home. You should return to Hovilham alone.”

“Do you plan to stay at your parents‘ house forever?”

“That’s not your concern!”

“Taylor!” he bellowed, his face reddening with anger.

I pressed the key again, adamant about opening my car door, but unexpectedly, he me up

in his arms.

1 let out a shriek, and before I knew it, I was once again thrown into his stretch Lincoln limousine.
