The Paragon Antaris - a secret World of magic #2

Chapter 21

The next day, we all sat together at Father's and discussed the upcoming battle, going over all the plans. I didn't like most of what I heard, and this made it bad. I paced around the room, making everyone even more nervous.

Uncle Aidan reported that all the armor and weapons had already been distributed, and that the army was completely ready to fight.

Mother reported about the healers who had done a lot of work, and all those who were once searching were completely healed.

Noah and Devas reported on the defense that was secure, and so it went on. Everyone reported what I wanted to hear except Father. I was aware that they all had more experience in fighting than me, but I didn't like the idea of going to Portus Mali.

There we would be on their land, and we would have to fight on their terms. It's been more than 20 years since my parents were there, and who knows what had changed. We could just fall into a trap. Nobody knew what Abbadon really knew, and that was a huge mistake for me.

"We're not going to Portus Mali," I said, interrupting Father.

He looked at me confused and was surprised by what I said.

"What do you mean?" he asked me, and everyone looked at me.

"I'm aware that you all have more experience than me...but something inside me says it's wrong," I said, looking at them all.

Devas was now the one pacing back and forth, thinking hard.

"So you want us to bring him here?" he asked me.

"I think here we would have the advantage that we know everything inside and out. We bring all women, children, and the elderly to safety, and only those fit to fight remain. We could prepare everything and set up traps with proper leadership, It would be a problem for them here. Besides, as soon as I pick up the blade with the mark on me, Abbadon will know what's going on. And if I go into Portus Mali like that, he'll know immediately and maybe run away," I explained.

Devas stopped and looked at Father, and he looked at me. "We would probably devastate all of Antaris again...but I think you're right," said Father.

I knew that I could rebuild Antaris with the strength I had; it was a small thing. But the advantage we have here was worth everything to me. If we do everything right and Abbadon is destroyed here, then there is no longer danger and we would be safe forever.

"And how are we going to lure Abbadon here?" Evelyn asked worriedly.

"She's right, we can't send him an invitation," Vaell added. "Then we'll give him something he wanted," replied Mother.

"No!" Father contradicted and looked at her.

"I'm not asking you for permission! I'm just saying that I was the one who killed his brother, and he's been looking for revenge for decades," Mother said with a raised eyebrow.

"And how do you think we're going to do that? You can't just show up and say, 'Hey, I'm here,'" Father shouted angrily.

"She can't, but I can," I heard Innia say.

"No!" I said this time, just as upset as Father. He looked at me, and I shook my head. That's a stupid idea.

"It's not a stupid idea!" Innia rang out as she sensed my feelings.

"How do you want to do that?" Devas asked, and both Father and I glared at him.

"I'll go into his dream and see what he knows, and maybe I'll give him your location. I don't know, I'll have to think of something," Innia said, shrugging her shoulders.

"There's no way you're going there; he can kill you," I answered her, almost screaming out of fear for her well-being.

"Elyon, I will not sit here when our home is attacked and everyone I love can be destroyed. You gave me a home, a family, and love... Don't hold it against me if I want to fight for it in my own way," Innia said to me in her calm voice.

I felt what she felt and it hurt me. She had the right to fight but the risk of losing her was too great.

"Listen...I was hidden from him for seven years. He doesn't know anything about me or you. He doesn't know where you are or how you are doing. Maybe Antaris doesn't exist anymore. Maybe you all are dead. In my dream I can be whatever I want. What if I'm so disappointed with the world and want to go back to Portus Mali because I found Iris and saw in her dream that they've been living badly for decades and the good is so little that I want to be on the right side when destruction comes," Innia explained.

Devas looked at her and then at me and raised his eyebrows.

"Just the mention of me will pique his interest. Hearing that we're not doing well would make him feel powerful and he'd look for me," Mom said.

Father looked at me and I could read his thoughts without actually being able to read them. Now they are already coming together in their plan.

"Well, to be honest, the plan isn't bad. He is crazy like Innia told us. The lost of his brother was a lot for him, and he wants revenge," Devas said to our surprise.

"But he won't believe her. Everyone knows that you are complete," Father said to me.

Innia closed her eyes and whispered something to herself and before our eyes my mate transformed into the girl she once was before my arrival in her life. Her skin was pale, her lips were cracked, she was dirty, and her hair was tangled. I could still feel her but it seemed as if she wasn't herself.

"This is me before all of you...before Antaris...before Elyon...this is me who Abbadon knows. I see myself in my dreams. I will not disappoint you. He will believe me, and I will lead him to you where you will already be waiting," Innia said.

Mother stood in front of her and took her in her arms. There was no need to say anything, and there was no need to talk them out of this plan. They had already made up their minds...both of them.

I looked at father who was watching all this and he exhaled heavily.

"Then we should start preparing everything," he said with a heavy heart.

I didn't like the decision to go with this plan, but I had no choice because knowing Innia she would go whether I wanted her to or not. So father ordered the evacuation of all women, children, and the elderly, and we immediately began preparing the defense. Devas and numerous helpers began setting up the demon traps during the evacuation. We had no time to lose. The evacuation took a day and another day to defend and prepare the fighters who took up positions. Jade volunteered to open the portal and so she had to be in Innia's plan and lead Abbadon directly from there. Everything had to be flawless so that he could land directly in front of our arms, and we can end this once and for all.

I didn't know how Innia was going to do it, I was afraid for her and feared the worst would happen. But she was sure and let me feel it. She didn't allow any more discussion and prepared for the evening. Tonight she wants to go to Abbadon. And by tomorrow at the latest, we will be facing the hardest battle since the beginning. I just hope we do the right thing.

When Innia went into her dream, Jade was lying in her standby dream. It made me nervous not knowing where she was, and when Jade disappeared, pulled by Innia into a dream, I thought they were returning. But nothing happened. We waited for hours without a sign from either of them.I lost it and my fear was greater than ever.I didn't feel Innia, what happened?

I had a bad feeling and looked out the window as if someone was calling me.The Armee was ready and everything was on place as planed. As I looked over the now empty Land all I could see was resting Soldiers in the dark. But then I saw a light and the light was turning into a Portal..Jade's Portal!

When I saw Jade's portal and Innia and Jade walking through it, then running for their lives, I realized that something had gone wrong. But when I saw Abbadon following them with his army, I knew it was okay.Innias plan succeeded .The fight has just started.

"Abbadon is here!" I shouted, and everyone turned to the window. We were surprised but we were prepared.

"Let us kill him and finish this." i said and with this a new war began.
