The Omnipotent Mrs. Ranford By Darlene Wright

Chapter 56

Chapter 56

“Yes?” Alexandra responded positively.

“If you were born in wartime 90 years ago, you would definitely be a traitor to your country.”

“|

“Also, when did I say that I would deduct your salary?”

Alexandra was dumbfounded and didn’t know how to react

“You were so enthusiastic about massaging Grams last night just to complain about me? Aren’t you tired from acting? Why don’t you become an

actress?”

Then, he turned around and left.

However, when he turned around, a smile appeared on his face.

He couldn’t hide it even if he wanted to.

Alexandra was left alone on the spot, like a deer caught in the headlights.

After arriving at the school in a tragic and awkward mood, she was called to the principal’s office.

Ever since Colin McFadden offendeti Alexandra last time, he always felt that he had let down the “genius” Alexandra. Hence, he was especially enthusiastic every time they met.

“Miss Doherty, are you getting used to the campus lately?” he asked with a smile.

Alexandra was not used to his excessive enthusiasm. “It’s alright. I appreciate your concern, Mr. McFadden.”

“That’s good. I have a job for you today. In addition to welcoming the new students, there’s a small segment at the Freshman Night the night after tomorrow. At the end of the programs, all the performances will be graded and awarded to the top three programs.”

“Okay”

“What did it have to do with me?” She wondered.

“After the recommendation of the planning team for the welcoming party and the school’s careful consideration, we’ve decided to let you be the award presenter”

“Huh?”

“Hahaha… Don’t be nervous. It’s just an award ceremony for the award–winning programs. Firstly, you’re a freshman. Secondly, you’re considered a celebrity in the school now. Lastly, you’ll be the one to give the award and the welcome speech. I think this arrangement is perfect.”

Alexandra did not feel flattered at all. Instead, she was scared to death.

“Why did he have to put me in the limelight?” she complained in her mind, unwilling to accept the honor.

Colin noticed that something was wrong with her expression and asked, “Why? You don’t want to?”

“Ah… No. All right, then.”

In the end, Alexandra agreed to the principal’s arrangement.

Although she did not like to be in the limelight.

Due to her trauma from the rehearsal, she did not go to the rehearsal for the next few days.

Chapter 56

However, she was still looking forward to the school’s welcoming party.

The welcoming party was finally set to be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Therefore, on Wednesday night, Alexandra, who had just taken a shower and was wearing pink the pajamas, was lying next to the wardrobe, looking for the clothes she would wear on the day of the freshmen party.

Just as she was frowning and standing in front of the wardrobe in a daze, Julian came in from outside.

Seeing her troubled expression, he asked worriedly, “What’s wrong?”

Alexandra turned around and replied, “Mr. McFadden insisted I give an award to the programs of the welcoming party tomorrow night. Emery said that she wanted me to choose a better dress. I don’t know which one to wear.”

When Julian heard she was the award presenter, he naturally knew Colin McFadden was expressing goodwill.

He didn’t really care.

When Alexandra married over, he had already gotten someone to buy many branded women’s clothes and hang them in the wardrobe.

However, Alexandra only wore a few plainer outfits.

He walked over and took a few glances at the wardrobe. He took out a few gowns and dresses and threw them on the bed.

“Try it on. I’ll help you choose.”

Alexandra thought for a moment.  S~ᴇaʀᴄh the FindNøvᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

She thought that Julian was not interested in her. He must have done this out of humanitarian concern.

She did not think about anything else. Then, she picked up a long green dress and went to the changing room.

The changing room was originally Julian’s, but after Alexandra came, Julian basically never went in. By default, the changing room was given to Alexandra.

After Alexandra changed into her dress and walked out, she saw Julian sitting on the sofa with his eyes closed.

Hearing her coming out, Julian opened his eyes.

Alexandra’s long hair was still smelling of shampoo.

She did not put on any makeup. Her skin was naturally good, and her pores were so thin that they could not be seen.

Her skin was fair and tender, and her beautiful facial features seemed to be doted on by the Creator. There were no flaws at all.

She was wearing a light green dress that made her look like a fairy.

It was as if she was really an otherworldly fairy.

In a daze, he thought of Yoya, whom he had met only once.

“Mr. Ranford?” Alexandra tilted her head. She did not know why he was staring at her silently.

Julian secretly drove away his thoughts and commented, “This dress suits your temperament very well. It’s… it doesn’t look good. This one doesn’t look good. Try another one.”

Alexandra was left dumbfounded.

The reason why Julian said this was because when he talked to her, he realized that this dress was a little deep V–necked.

He said inwardly, “How did Marco choose the clothes? He wanted his salary to be deducted again.”

Chapter 56

For some reason, he felt that the aura of this dress had been lowered by a few levels. He could not let Alexandra wear it.

It was too eye–catching.

It didn’t look good.

Alexandra had no idea if Julian’s brain was damaged. She looked at herself in the mirror and thought she looked good.

Since he said that it didn’t look good, she would listen to him. She took another dress and went to the changing room.

Shoulder revealing? Not good.

A strapless gown? Ugly.

Traditional dress? The hem was too high. It was not good.

A spaghetti strap gown? Was the designer short of fabric?

Bubble–sleeved dress? Too wide neckline. Terrible.

In the end, Alexandra changed into the last dress and walked out. She couldn’t take it anymore. “Mr. Ranford, if you think don’t they look good, why did you purchase them in the first place?”

“I didn’t buy them. Marco did.”

Alexandra didn’t know how to reply.

“Okay, just this one. It’s lovely. Put it on tomorrow.”

Julian took a good look at the dress Alexandra was wearing.

He finally found her more pleasing to the eye.

Alexandra glanced at herself and began to doubt Julian’s aesthetic taste.

She pointed to a Lolita–style bubble–sleeved dress on the bed. “But I think that one looks good.”

“That one doesn’t look good. You’re not allowed to wear it.” Julian refused her suggestion..

Alexandra was left speechless.

She pouted and started to pack up the pile of clothes on the bed.

She had just collected two pieces when she frowned and looked at Julian. “But Mr. Ranford, I’m a little nervous. What should I do?”

Julian had already gotten up and was about to go to the study when he heard Alexandra’s muffled voice. He turned around and asked, “What are you nervous about?”

Alexandra looked up at him. “I don’t want to be in the limelight. I don’t like being watched by so many people. Besides, I don’t have a show.”

Julian replied, “Mr. McFadden is apologizing to you in this way. He’s showing his sincerity.”

“I know! But..” Alexandra lowered her head and continued to pack her clothes. “Everyone thinks that I’m a genius! But I’m just a little fool! 1 feel guilty being treated as the representative of the freshmen,”

The corners of Julian’s lips curled up as he thought about the International Mathematical Olympiad paper that he had saved in his email.

The others always pretended to be good at something when they were not.

As for this little girl, she was talented but did not know it.
