The Omnipotent Mrs. Ranford By Darlene Wright

Chapter 32

Chapter 32

Emery, why are you here?” Alexandra was both surprised and shocked to see Emery.

However, Emery had a worried look on her face. She stood up with the help of her crutch and asked Alexandra, “How did it go, Alexandra?”

“Alright. It went better than I expected. It was easier than I had thought. I should be able to pass,” said Alexandra. She didn’t sound very sure.

Emery was the one who was confused this time.

Martha had obviously said that she had replaced Alexandra’s paper with the paper from the International Maths Olympiad. Emery wondered if Martha and her friends failed to replace Alexandra’s paper.

Or could it be that the teachers had found out the paper was replaced before the exam?

Alexandra usually becomes hungry when she’s nervous.

By the time the entrance exam had ended, it was almost lunchtime. Alexandra dragged Emery and said, “Come on, let’s have lunch. I’ll treat you!”

This time, the two of them went to the canteen for lunch.

Alexandra wanted to head outside for lunch on the pedestrian street. She had eaten at several restaurants on that street a few days ago. However, she guessed that it would be quite a lot of trouble for Emery, so she gave up that idea..

Emery had a secret on her mind. She didn’t know if she should tell Alexandra or not.

However, Alexandra seemed to be quite confident about the paper she did. Therefore, Emery had no idea what had happened.

This time, they had a quiet meal. No

One

came to bother them.

This was because the girls who loved looking for trouble were spreading a rumor they had planned for a long time on the APP of the University of Highclere.

Someone posted something using a new account. That person hinted that there were questions from the International Maths Olympiad in the entrance exam papers this year. The post immediately became viral after five minutes.

It received a few hundred thousand likes and over 30 thousand comments.

[Wow! Who is the new transfer that’s so clever?]

[You have no idea how insane last year’s International Maths Olympiad questions were! The highest mark our university’s team received was 741]

[Do you know what’s even more insane? The team leader who was responsible for last year’s International Maths Olympiad’s questions was Halver University’s guest science professor, Filion. That guy’s just insane! He was said to have received his bachelor’s degree at Halver University at 16. Two years later, he received his Ph.D. and was employed as a guest professor for life!]

[Wow! It’s said that the entrance exam papers of the University of Highclere are tailored to the transfer students themselves by Mr. McFadden. Could it be that the University of Highclere is about to enroll a genius?]

[Is it going to be a boy or a girl? I want to know!|

[Me too!]

[Me three!

Chapter 32

[Me, whatever!

[So guys, I’m really looking forward to the marks of the candidate who has received the questions from the International Maths Olympiad.]

[Me too!)

A while later, this post became the most popular post on the University of Highclere’s forum.

Soon, this post went viral on the internet.

Students who had graduated or were still studying at the University of Highclere followed the post.

They knew that all transfer students would tell Mr. McFadden about themselves before enrolling. Since Mr. McFadden gave

her the questions, then that meant that Mr. McFadden knew that this person was very good at Maths.

Otherwise, Mr. McFadden wouldn’t do such a thing to make things difficult for the student.

Meanwhile, Alexandra had already filled herself up.

Only then did she realize that Emery was looking at her phone with a dark expression and was in a daze.

What is it, Emery? What’s happening?” Alexandra asked worriedly.

Emery didn’t want Alexandra to feel desperate, so she put her phone away and said it was nothing.

“Alexandra, was your paper difficult or not?” Emery asked seriously.

Alexandra felt a little nervous after being questioned by Emery. She hesitated and said, “Alright… I think. I answered every question except the last one anyway.”

Emery was at a loss for words. She wasn’t sure what was going on.

She had no doubt that Alexandra had written gibberish.

Therefore, Emery had to think of something. She had the voice recording of what Martha and her friends were talking. about.

This time, Emery was determined to do something for Alexandra no matter what. She would do whatever it took to allow Alexandra to stay.

She would go and beg her brother if she had to..

The post was still viral on the internet.

In the end, everyone wanted to know what marks the candidate received.

Everyone knew the entrance exam papers were tailored to everyone. Since such a paper was given to a candidate, that candidate would receive a pass at least.

If not, then the candidate would not be allowed to enroll.

That was because the student lied to Mr. McFadden.

Almost everyone from the University of Highclere, including some teachers and professors, found out about the post in the

afternoon.

Some people were happy about what was happening, and others were in a difficult position.

That included Colin McFadden.

Chapter 32

Erik was already summoned to his office. Faced with Colin’s questioning, Erik didn’t feel that scared at all. After all, he wasn’t the mastermind behind all of this.

Moreover, compared to girls from affluent families such as Martha and Kelly, Erik didn’t care about someone like Alexandra, who caused trouble the day she arrived at the university.  Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ Find_Nøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Colin had thought the post was just a rumor. However, when he looked at the five papers and realized that one of them was questions from last year’s Mathematical Olympiad, he was dumbfounded as well.

“Mr. McFadden, no matter what went wrong in the process, you’re the one who provided the papers. Since everyone is so curious, then just publicize the marks.”

“I’ve never used those questions! Someone replaced the paper! Who the hell dared to do that?” Colin was so angry that he was shaking.

He couldn’t believe that someone had replaced an entrance exam paper. It was ridiculous!

Erik quickly passed a glass of tea to Colin. “Mr. McFadden, calm down. Since things have happened, we can’t say that there was a mistake with the paper, can we? This is not good for the university’s reputation. Haven’t you always had a grudge against those rich families who keep sticking their children in our university? We can use this opportunity to teach them a lesson. We can’t let people of the upper class ruin our university’s reputation.”

“Nonsense!”

Right now, Colin was in a difficult position.

At that moment, someone knocked on the door of the president’s office,

It was Emery.

Emery had seen the post go viral on the internet. She was worried that the university would use Alexandra as a shield for the university’s reputation. After all, she was just a nobody.

Therefore, she didn’t care what Mr. McFadden would think and went straight over.

When Erik saw Emery, disgust appeared in his eyes. “Emery, can’t you see that Mr. McFadden is frustrated? What are you. doing here?”

Emery took out her phone. “Mr. McFadden, I know who replaced Alexandra’s paper! I have proof!”

Emery played the voice recording. Erik then gasped. He didn’t expect Emery to make a voice recording to prove that Kelly and the others had replaced Alexandra’s paper.

Colin’s face had turned completely dark.

Obviously, he had to choose between his granddaughter and the Ranford Group in Highclere.

Was he going to protect his granddaughter or the relationship between him and the Ranford family? This was a tough

choice to make

Moreover, he couldn’t offend Emery, either.
