The Omega Best Friend

Chapter 67

Chapter 67

Fighting for Us

“Let me go Gareth!” I yelled.

He locked my arms behind my back and kept me from darting on the field.

“What are you going to do? You can’t help him.”

Kade was down fighting off the Alpha from Mandy. Why wouldn’t he fight? What was he waiting for

He’s better than this.

It felt like the crowd held their breaths as Kade struggled to gain control.

Holden watched with a clenched jaw as his Alpha was momentarily subdued.

Ivan was stretchered off minutes ago. At least he was alive.

I knew Leiah wanted to be with him but she couldn’t.

“Hey, Gabbie,” Alex said.  S~ᴇaʀᴄh the Findɴovel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Gareth released me only for me to rush into Alex’s arms

“Why won’t he do anything?” I asked.

“Relax, Kade wouldn’t go out like this.” Alex wrapped me in his arms and stroked my hair.

“If he does I’ll give him shit for the rest of his life,” Gareth puffed.

I wiped my tears and remembered Leiah was around. I knew they broke up but it had to be fresh. I tried to wiggle out of his hold but Alex kept me bound.

“Where were you?” I asked

“Dad’s here. I was taking care of things.”

Suddenly Kade’s black wolf slipped out from under Rueben. The brown wolf didn’t expect it. Kade snapped his teeth around Rueben’s back and slammed him to the ground. His front paws kept his opponent down.

Gareth clapped his hand. “Same old Sanders always effective.”

“Thave to see him.”

“Wait, he needs to speak to his betas first. He’ll come for you,” Alex told me

My heart settled as Kade shifted to human form. I watched him walk, naked to his group of betas.

“I’m not sure I can do this again,” I said and sighed.

Alex chuckled. “Mine’s tomorrow.”

Against who?”

Alex stroked my shoulder and rested his chin on my forehead.

“Knox from Laiken pack.”

Gareth grimaced. “Better you than me.”

“Is he good?”

“Hella good.” Alex replied. “I got this, sweetheart don’t worry.”

Why did they both have to do this? They were already Alpha heirs what was the point of being Alpha King?

“After you speak to Kade… you and I need to talk, okay?” Alex loosened his hold so he could tilt my chin to look at him.

Irubbed my lips together. “Okay.” This had something to do with his Dad and mine.

“Hey!”

I jumped off the step and onto Kade’s back.

Fuck.” He lurched forward.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist.

He was sticky and smelt like cologne and sweat.

“Whoa, Gabbie.”

He was alone and wearing only pants wandering around the football field that no one used this

semester

“You scared the shit out of me.”

He laughed. “Should I be offended that you have no faith in me?”

“You stayed down for a long time.”

“I know what I was doing. I was holding him off, letting him think he had the upper hand.”

He pulled me off his back and then picked me up so we were face to face. He closed his lips on mine. He cupped my ass and yanked me up and squeezed.

“I did good because you were there. You’re my good luck charm.”

“Why our relationship is complicated. It’s because of who I am and who you really are.”

“I don’t understand Kade.”

A growl cut into the quiet nice. Kade snapped up.

“What was that?” I asked.

“Gabbie get out of here,” Kade ordered.

He moved me off his lap and stood.

“It’s the wolf. Go I’ll handle it.”

Its menacing eyes cut into the darkness. It prowled towards us. I swallowed as it pointed its head at me. Kade moved in front of me and it growled.

“No arguing this time Gabbie, go. Find help.”

I didn’t want to leave him. I remained paralyzed. Kade shook my arm.

“Go, Gabbie! I’ll be fine get help.”

The instructors were in a meeting after the first battles. Everyone had gone back to their respective buildings. The closest one was the beta mansion. A ton of Sanders betas would help. I nodded and shifted.

I ran and the wolf leaped forward.

“No!” Kade yelled.

I jumped out of the way. The wolf hit the stand and jumped back to the field. I crawled backwards. The wolf snapped its jaw at me. It wasn’t completely wolf. It was part of something else.

Kade shifted into a wolf and body–slammed the wolf into the stands. I scrambled to my feet.

A blade dove into the ground like a javelin. I looked up.

“Dad!”

He skipped down the stairs to the field.

“Get away from here!” He ordered.

Kade stood on his hind legs and clawed the beast’s face. The wolf barked back and slammed Kade to the ground.

Be careful. Don’t hurt Kade please!”

“I know I know! Just go.” Dad ripped the weapon from the ground and charged.

The wolf kicked Kade several feet. He rolled and shifted back to human form.

The wolf slammed its paw at Dad’s head, sending him to the ground. It focused on one m. Kade remained unmoving and Dad was unresponsive. It was just me. The wolf had weak spots. It was powerful but I could use its weight against it. It wasn’t observant so I could hurt its blind spots.

It growled and charged at the same time Kade sat up. He saw it charge. Dove under it and narrowly missed its tail

Damn it.

It turned and barked at me, bearing razor–sharp fangs that could put sharks to shame.

It jumped on top of me. I lifted my legs to prevent it from ripping my legs off. It was heavy I couldn’t keep it up for long. It snapped its jaws and barked.

It sliced my chest open. I cried and my legs buckled.

Another blow to my chest and I thought I was done for.

The animal whimpered. Its eyes went wide and a human groan sounded.

The wolf was yanked off me. Kade gripped it by its back legs.

“Hands off my mate.”

He swung the wolf around before releasing it to fly several yards away.

I couldn’t see where it landed. My vision blurred and my body felt like a ton of bricks landed on me.

“Where the hell did it go?” Dad asked.

“I don’t know.”

I couldn’t move my limbs.

“Kade…” I whispered.

Kade dropped to the ground and picked up my head. The rest of me wouldn’t comply. I saw my mate in two and the beckoning call of sweet sleep was getting louder.

“What’s wrong? Tell me, where does it hurt?”

I couldn’t respond. His image vanished and I rolled my head to the side.
