Chapter 21
Chapter 21: The Plot
Felicity approached her son Nicholas and demanded that he assassinate Princess Elizabeth. Nicholas, filled with anger, refused to become a murderer. Felicity insisted that he carry out the task. Reluctant to harm or take anyone’s life, Nicholas devised a plan to deceive his mother into thinking he had killed Princess Elizabeth. He asked Felicity which Princess Elizabeth she wanted him to eliminate, to which she specified King Henry’s daughter.
“I intend to murder Princess Elizabeth, but I won’t do it without compensation. I demand payment upfront!” Nicholas replied, his anger rising.
“I am willing to pay you, but only after you complete the task!” Felicity commanded.
“I refuse to kill Princess Elizabeth until I receive my payment,” Nicholas retorted, his anger evident.
“I don’t have the money at the moment!” Felicity exclaimed, her anger flaring. “Very well, I won’t carry out the assassination of Princess Elizabeth!” Nicholas responded angrily.
“I will obtain the money for you. Stay here!” Felicity replied, her anger still present.
Jessica, Anne, and Edward are all finishing high school. Elizabeth has already finished high school and is now graduating from college. She has her parents’ support as she prepares to attend law school. Andrew is already in law school and is gaining valuable experience working as a paralegal at a law firm. He has a strong interest in becoming a criminal lawyer, just like Elizabeth. Andrew is planning to take Elizabeth out for a meal. Edward has also made special arrangements for Jessica. Jane, Edward’s mother, has entrusted him with her engagement and wedding rings to give to Jessica.
“Mom, I’m engaged!” Elizabeth exclaimed as she rushed into her mother’s arms.
Anne’s face lit up with joy as she hugged her daughter tightly. “Congratulations, my dear! I’m so happy for you!” she said, beaming with pride.
Elizabeth couldn’t contain her excitement as she showed her mom the beautiful engagement ring on her finger. As she slipped it on, she realized that it was the same ring that she had since she was a baby. The magical ring had always been hers and it fit her perfectly. She knew that this was a sign that Andrew was meant to be her soulmate. With tears of happiness in her eyes, Elizabeth knew that she was the luckiest girl in the world to have found true love with Andrew.
“Hey dad, I have some exciting news to share with you!” Elizabeth exclaimed over the phone.
“What is it, Elizabeth?” her father replied.
“I’m engaged to Andrew!” Elizabeth said, her voice filled with happiness.
Her father was overjoyed. “That’s wonderful news, Elizabeth! I’m so happy for you both.”
King Henry had also heard the news and was thrilled for his daughter. He had some news of his own to share with Elizabeth.
“Congratulations, my dear Elizabeth. I also wanted to let you know that Edward and Jessica are engaged as well. I was thinking of throwing an engagement party for both of my kids. What do you think?”
Elizabeth was delighted to hear the news about her brother and loved the idea of a joint engagement party.
“That sounds like a great idea, dad. Thank you!” she said.
After Elizabeth graduates, she and Andrew plan to move to England. Andrew has aspirations of opening his own law firm after he completes law school. He’s confident in his abilities and feels ready to strike out on his own.
