Chapter 47: New friends and scares
Avery
“Ready Victoria?” Ashe asked as Victoria greeted us by the front door.
“Yep.” She smiled.
“Woah. Where are you ladies going?” Liam asked when he, Jake, and David saw us.
“Ashe and I are showing Victoria around the territory.” I said as the girls nodded.
“But I wanted to spend some time with her.” Liam whined like a 5 year old.
“But you stole her all day yesterday.” Ashe whined back.
“And besides. We won’t be gone long.” Victoria said to Liam.
“Fine. But take guards.” Liam said sternly.
“Do you honestly think three bad ass, kick butt girls need guards?” I asked smugly.
“Yes.” All three of the boys said.
“Ugh!” I groaned. “Fine!” I yelled stomping out of the house like a 5 year old.
“This isn’t fair. We can’t leave the house at least once without guards?” Ashe complained.
“Well Sadie and Cindy are on the loose.” Victoria said.
Ashe nodded along with me. “I guess you’re right.”
“You’re chariot awaits my ladies.” Cory bowed as he opened the door to the black escalade.
“Why thank you kind sir.” Victoria giggled as Cory and Levi helped us all into the car.
Cory shut the door and hopped into the driver’s seat while Levi hopped into the passenger’s seat.
“Where too my ladies?” Cory asked looking at us in the review mirror.
“Around the territory kind sir.” I said with a smile.
“Ahh. Showing miss Victoria around are we?” Levi asked in a posh tone.
Ashe nodded. “Then we are going to show her the cities.”
“But we only told the guys that we are going around the territory.” Victoria said confused.
“Miss Victoria. These two ladies don’t always follow the rules.” Levi asked.
“Oh. Works for me.” Victoria laughed.
“Over here is the clinic my ladies.” Cory pointed out.
“Do they always act like this?” Victoria asked Ashe and I.
I nodded. “Yes.”
“But only when we join in with them. That’s why these are two of our favorite guards. They make being babysat fun.” Ashe laughed.
“I think I’m gonna like them.” Victoria giggled as Levi and Cory kept talking in a polite tone.
“And this is the city that our leaders like to go to.” Cory said in a British accent.
He’s been using every accent he can think of. And Levi is as well.
It’s actually quite funny and amusing to watch.
“My ladies?” Levi asked turning to look at us.
“Yes my kind sir?” Victoria asked back.
Levi’s eyes widen and he smiled huge when he saw that Victoria is jointing in on this. “Are you ladies thirsty?”
“Why yes we are kind sir.”
“What would you lovely ladies like to drink?” Cory asked in an Australian accent.
We all looked at him before busting out laughing.
“Girls! Huddle!” I yelled smiling.
“Where should we go?” Ashe asked.
“I don’t know what’s here. So don’t ask me.” Victoria laughed.
Ashe broke out of the huddle and pushed her face all the way against the car window.
“Did I just see a Starbucks?” Ashe asked. But it was hard to understand her with her face smushed against the glass.
“Starbucks it is.” Cory said as he turned into the left turn lane.
“Hell ya mother f@cker!” Ashe yelled.
“I’ve never seen someone so excited for Starbucks.” I whispered leaning over to Victoria.
Victoria laughed and Ashe stuck her tongue out at is.
We were finally on our way back home with our coffees in our hands.
“Oh my gosh. What is this called?” Victoria moaned in delight when she was taking a sip of her coffee.
“A vanilla bean frappuccino.” I said taking a sip of my own.
“Well it’s so damn good.” Victoria smiled taking a bigger sip. “Shit! Brain freeze.”
“Yep. You are definitely one of us now.” I said nodding and sipping my coffee.
Ashe laughed. “What? You’ve never had one before?”
Victoria shook her head. “Nope. I was never allowed to leave the camp.”
“Oh that sucks. I could not live without coffee.” I said.
“We know.” Ashe, Cory, and Levi said at the same time.
“Wow. Thanks guys.” I said sticking my tongue out at them.
Ashe giggled and turned to Victoria. “So. What’s your full name?”
Victoria smiled. “Victoria Juliet Rose.”
“Wow. That’s a really pretty full name.” I laughed.
“Thank you.” Victoria blushed slightly from laughing. “What’s yours?”
“Avery Lynn Williams.” I said.
“And mine is Ashe Alexandria Johnson.” Ashe said. (Don’t remember if I put hers, so this is it.)
“Those are really pretty too.” Victoria said.
“Thanks Ashe and I said.
We finally arrived home.
When I stepped foot into the pack house, I felt my phone beep.
I looked down and saw it was a notification from the calendar app.
“Oh shit!” I yelled.
“What?” Jake asked as everyone stopped walking and looked at me.
“Ashe? Victoria?” I asked looking at them. “Can you please come with me upstairs real quick?”
They nodded hesitantly and followed me upstairs toy room.
“What’s wrong?” Ashe asked as we all stepped foot into the my room.
I closed the door and we all sat on my bed.
“My period. It’s late.” I said horrified.
“What?” Ashe asked wide eyed.
“Are you sure?” Victoria asked.
I nodded. “When I went to the bathroom at Starbucks, I didn’t have my period. And I’m pretty sure I would feel it if it came between then and now.” I said standing up from my bed.
“Maybe it’s just a little late.” Ashe said.
“Ya. Periods don’t always come on time you know. They could come a day earlier or a day late.” Victoria said trying to reason.
Ashe and I told her that Jake and I mated.
Well she kinda asked me because she could smell it.
But she’s our best friend now, so we kinda had to tell her. And the fact that she kept asking me and I finally gave in.
“Ya. I guess your right.” I said nodding fast. “It could just be a day late. It’s happened before.” I told them. But it felt like I was trying to tell myself that.
“See?” Ashe said standing up and walking over to me. “Nothing to worry about.”
“And you guess I’m right?” Victoria asked crossing her arms over her chest and raising an eyebrow at me.
How does she do that? I can barely raise both of my eyebrows.
“Fine. You are right.” I laughed as Ashe laughed along with me.
“That’s more like it.” Victoria said nodding in approval.
“Yep.” Ashe said nodding. “You will defiantly fit in here.”
“I mean we are already best friends.” I said.
“Hell ya we are!” Victoria shouted giggling.
