Chapter Chapter Three
I was looking at Aaron. He had this stubborn look in his eyes. I could run because I don’t know what he was doing. He was looking at everything around me but me. I was seriously starting to consider that he’s crazy for real.
“Um, I think I should go now. I’ve got some...” I couldn’t Complete the sentence because I simply didn’t get enough air for it. I was choking. All of the oxygen was knocked out of me and my lungs were screaming for air.
It didn’t take me a second to figure out that he wasn’t crazy or even lying. I can never question that he could really do it.
“You’re... killing... me.” I choked over the words. Tears willed up to my eyes. Was he really going to kill me?
My whole body went numb and I felt a totally new feeling as if I was carrying an extremely heavy weight. But it wasn’t a bad feeling or annoying only hard to keep holding all of this weight while standing. My skin was covered with cold sweat and my body was suddenly greeted with a great jolt of energy but then all of it was sucked with the weight of that thing I’m holding. I don’t suppose that this is a normal feeling for the choking people, right?
I really can’t judge since I’ve never seen anyone choking nor experienced it myself. But in all means it didn’t feel like torture anymore.
Strangely, I didn’t need the oxygen. I did want it. But not the real urge of needing it. It felt like I was living in a dream, floating in the air. Nothing like the choking, suffering state I was in seconds ago.
Finally and in a blink of an eye everything returned normal and natural. I could breathe again. I took a deep breath welcoming the feeling of lungs filled with oxygen.
The first thing I did was to grab a fist full of sand and throw it in Aaron’s face.
“You’re out of your mind. You almost killed me, you stupid jerk!” I was yelling at him. But he was standing still, watching me cautiously looking almost afraid. It was strange. I’m the one who should be afraid of him.
He blinked through the dust several times but kept looking at me like I was going to eat his flesh or something. Sadly I won’t. Only if I could...
"What are you?” He asked me surprisingly.
“What am I! What are you?” I exclaimed angrily.
“You... you were shining gold and” He stopped completely blanched.
“What? You are crazy.” I stated.
“No, listen I’ll do it again and video you,” He said quickly and took out his phone.
“You’ll do it again? No way just leave me alone.” I told him.
“Wait. I won’t kill you, promise.” He said easily.
“I said No!” I yelled and then started running away from him but in mere seconds it all happened all over again. I stumbled forward regaining my balance afterwards.
“I will kill you, I swear. Seriously, what is wrong with you, dude?” I told him and then took off my cap and threw it at him. He didn’t seem to care about any of it however. Instead he told me to look and walked to be standing next to me and tapped play on the video.
“No,” I pushed his hands away and closed my eyes. I’m so done with this cuckoo acting guy. There are two things I can’t stand in this life; open water and crazy annoying people.
“Just watch it. You’re glowing,” I surrendered to his stubbornness.
I gaped at the screen; I was choking at first but then I stood limply. My arms hanging at my sides and my mouth sealed shut. Nearly my whole body was covered with shiny golden writings and my eyes were glowing gold. My hair had these locks with the same color. The look was intimidating.
I was stunned.
I looked at Aaron as if to say, What is this?
“I guess I’m not the only one with a special talent here,” He answered half excited, half perplexed. I swallowed the lump in my throat.
Am I losing my mind too?
