The Curse Of Rejection

Chapter Weird Aysu

AYSU

Aysu tried to pinch her eyes with the hope that it would be enough to drag her out of that surreal moment, but the more seconds passed, the more Mayana’s hand felt real to the touch.

“How come you are here?” Mayana spoke and Aysu’s heart skipped.

“I…″ She swallowed hard. “I should be asking you that. You just died.”

Mayana sneered. “Do you think I don’t know that? Or do you intend to rub the fact that Ximun ended my life in my face?”

“Why would I? You deserve the death.” Aysu could not believe that Mayana remained gusty with her words even in that situation where nothing was clear. “If you died, how come we are speaking right now?”

Mayana shrugged. “I don’t know. I was told to walk past a door where I would meet a representative of the moon goddess. I really didn’t expect to meet you of all people here.” Mayana narrowed her gaze. “How are you even here?”

“I just held your hand and-”

“Why the fuck would you hold a dead person’s hand?” Mayana shook her head while Aysu puckered her lips in slight annoyance. “I can’t believe how weird you are. Does Ximun know you are this unusual?”

“I guess you are as weird because I am still holding your hand.” Aysu creeped the woman out with that statement and within microseconds, their contact was dissolved, each woman looking anywhere but at each other.

“So, where is this place?” Mayana asked while her eyes remained on the ground which was made up of nothing but a bright light. “Is this some kind of wolf paradise?”

“You think you made it to paradise?” Aysu crossed her arms, and at the same time, she decided not to ask questions about the strangeness of that place. “You killed my unborn baby and almost ended my life.”

“Why does that count? You stole my man so you deserved that-”

Aysu raised a hand to Mayana’s face. “Stop right there.” A few steps and her eyes were strongly glaring into Mayana’s. “Ximun is rightfully and legally my husband. I agree that things weren’t rosy in the start, but he is my mate and will always be.”

“The-”

“I don’t care how much both of you loved each other. The moment you rejected him, that was the end. You don’t get to come back while he is with me to claim a right that doesn’t exist. You don’t get to use your stupidity to create chaos.” Aysu poked the woman’s shoulder. “You killed my unborn child, and you will be punished for using your emotions in the worst way possible. I don’t care if you think otherwise.”

Mayana was a little threatened by Aysu’s words, but she didn’t show it for too long. She squared her shoulders and with that pride, she said, “I don’t care either.”

“Good.” Aysu walked a few steps back. “Rot in hell and make sure you do so for a long time.”

Mayana was about to speak, but the force that brought Aysu into that strange moment dragged her out. And she was soon back in the room she was familiar with, Mayana’s body still sprawled on the ground.

“Miss Aysu?” The voice of the guard from earlier caused Aysu to drop Mayana’s hand. “Are you okay?”

With speed, Aysu got to her feet. “How is Ximun?”

The brow the man lifted came down and he replied, “His Majesty is still asleep.”

“Good. I will stay with him. Take care of the body.”

“Okay… Miss Aysu.” Though silent about it, it was obvious that the man needed answers as to why she was gripping a dead woman’s hand. “I will.”

“I am not weird or something like that,” Aysu added in response. “I just… I was just checking something.”

The guard nodded curtly. “Alright, Miss Aysu. Will you need help getting to the Alpha’s chamber?”

“No. Well,” her eyes squinted as it occurred to her that she easily forgets things, “maybe not so well. I might struggle a bit.”

“In that case, I can come with you.”

“How about the body?”

“I will wrap it up and carry it along.”

“That’s…”

“Insulting to the soul that just departed?” The man completed and Aysu nodded. “I don’t think so. After what she did, she deserves worse.”

As though a weight had been lifted off her, Aysu sighed hard. “She does, doesn’t she?”

With a slight smile, the man headed into the room. “Just give me a few seconds Miss Aysu, I will get the body ready for the short journey.”

“Hmm,” hummed Aysu as she found a wall to lean against. She watched as he tore one of the window drapes off and walked to the body. “I don’t know your name. I have noticed that you are always with Ximun. You also helped me after that humiliating day in the council room.” Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ Findɴovel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“My name is Zion, Miss Aysu.”

“Zion. It is nice to meet you.”

“Likewise.” He began to wrap the body, each movement punctuated with a woosh sound.

“How is Gideon and Magnetino? Were they tortured a lot?”

“Initially, they were.”

“How about now?”

“They are still detained, but they are doing fine.”

“That’s assuring. I know it is terrible of me to say this, but I still doubt Ximun’s words.”

“It’s never easy to win a person’s trust especially after the ego has been hurt. I am sure Alpha Ximun understands that much. So, no, you are not a terrible person, Miss Aysu.”

“Hmm.”

Once the body was securely wrapped, he carried it effortlessly and hung it over his shoulder. “We can leave now.”

“Okay.”

And they walked out of that place with nothing but silence existing between them.

The moment Aysu stepped into Ximun’s room, warmth enveloped her and she felt bad for hinting earlier that she still doubted him. She walked closer to his bed and the view of his peaceful sleeping face made her smile and urged her to climb into the bed.

Once she was lying next to him, the smoothness of his blanket making her feel more at home, Aysu continued staring at his fine face. Then, out of nowhere, his hand snaked her waist and he pulled her closer.

While trying hard not to blush, Aysu said, “I thought you were sleeping.”

“I was. You were quiet but not enough not to wake me up,” his groggy voice replied, his eyes still closed.

Aysu cupped the side of his face. “How do you feel?”

His hand rested on hers. “I don’t feel any different.”

“Sure?”

He nodded and pouted like a baby. Then he asked, “Why do you smell like death?”

“I held Mayana’s hand.”

Ximun frowned and flung his eyes open. “Why?”

“Alora told me to.” Wherever she was, Alora chuckled with excitement and Aysu wished she could lash that wolf a few beatings for making her do something so weird.

“Alora?”

“My wolf.”

“Why would she tell you to hold a dead person’s hand?”

“I dunno.” Aysu quickly ended that conversation. With a grunt of satisfaction that followed a little stretch of her body, she said, “Your bed is very soft and comfortable, I can sleep here all day and night.”

“You can sleep here from now on if you like.”

“I can?” Aysu tried to fight a smile. “That would be nice.”

“Once your coronation happens, we’ll move to a new room and I’ll make sure we have the best mattress. A sturdy and soft mattress.”

“That sounds like a plan,” replied Aysu, that smile now fully plastered on her lips. “You can go back to sleep now, Ximun.”

“Are you leaving?” he asked and pulled her closer, his touch telling her he was unwilling to let her go.

“No, I am not.” As though the space between them wasn’t enough, Aysu snuggled closer and made sure her eyes were all he could see. “I am here for you.”

“I am glad.”

“And, I don’t hate you.” Aysu meant that and Ximun could tell.

So, in that comfortable embrace, they stayed still till they were both fast asleep.
