The Curse Of Rejection

Chapter Her Strange Powers

AYSU

Yes, it was very foolish of her to jump right in the middle of the fight, but the moment Aysu left the world of sleep she had suddenly slipped into, she felt an immense surge of power in her body and soul.

And as she tried to process that feeling, an unseen force prompted her to get to her feet. That force then led her to the midst of the men and without thinking twice, her right hand stretched and stopped the mighty wolf’s sword from striking her mate. And the best part was that she was not bleeding despite the direct contact with the sword.

“Aysu! Get out!” Until Ximun screamed, Aysu was not fully aware of what she was doing at that moment.

But, when she realised that she was stopping a sharp sword with her bare hand, she did not fret. With surprising calmness, she started to walk while her hand managed to bend the Lycan’s sword into a worthless figure.

“Aysu, please.” This time, Ximun’s voice was softer and he pleaded even though he had no idea how to process the powerful display he was seeing.

“Aysu,” this time, it was Nirel speaking, “what are you doing?”

Aysu finally found her voice. “How dare you hurt those women, Nirel?”

“Nirel?” The man chuckled while Aysu’s hefty movements continued until he was successfully pinned against the wall. “How can it be Nirel? Why would Nirel want to hurt-?”

“Are you plain dumb?” Aysu was disgusted. “I can tell it is you. Alora still recalls your scent. I don’t know why you decided to turn yourself into such a beast, but you need to call off the nonsense you are doing right now.” She tossed the sword in a random direction. After, she palmed the wall and that surface creaked to show that she was indeed very powerful in that moment. “You have to stop hurting people that have done you no wrong.”

As her voice thundered, Aysu recalled the numerous caged women in the strange, murky place she was earlier kept. The thought that those women had lost all hope of seeing a lovely day again saddened Aysu so much that her anger fueled up and she glared at the Lycan that was towering above her at a height that would normally be very terrifying.

“Aysu, I have done all these things because I wished to get over you and-”

“No. You did those terrible things because you wanted to. Don’t use me as an excuse. You hurt these people because you wish to.”

“But I don’t want to hurt you. And that’s because I am not doing this to be a wicked wolf. I am doing this because it is the only way to get you out of my system. I speak the truth, Aysu.”

“Do you?”

“Yes.”

Aysu smacked her lips while she tried to calm the power-hungry side of her soul that was already badgering her to strangle the man to death so that he would stop being a nuisance.

Then, she asked, “Why were you trying to hurt Ximun then? Your sword was very close to piercing his heart.” The more Aysu thought about the moment her ex almost killed her mate, the more her anger increased. “You were going to kill him, Nirel. So, please don’t give me that crap story about how you didn’t hurt people on purpose.”

“Aysu.” The wolf sighed while it slowly shifted to the human form. Aysu always thought the shifting process of a lycan wolf would be filled with excruciating pain, but it appeared to be a peaceful transition. “What do you want me to do? Huh? Should I rip out my heart to show you that am I not a terrible soul? Because I don’t understand.” His eyes narrowed with intense emotion. “Why would you think that I wanted to hurt that so-called mate of yours?”

“You can keep shut and that will make me believe that you are not a very stupid liar. Because all you are doing now is lying. How dare you lie to my face about killing my husband?” Aysu retorted, her teeth seething to further contain her anger.

“Aysu…”

“You want to know what I want you to do?”

’Tell me, Aysu. It seems you are so sure that I am someone who desires to ruin people’s lives.”

“Let everyone go. All the women you have caged in pure darkness are not yours to toy with, so let. them. go.”

Nirel, his height not so threatening anymore, gave a bitter chuckle. “You must be joking.”

Aysu didn’t respond. She just reached for one of his hands and without much fuss, she crushed most of the bones in his hand. Again, her sudden powers surprised her but not as much as her confidence in that moment surprised her.

The crushing went on for seconds and during all that, Nirel screamed as though he had been burned with hot water.

“Does it seem I am joking, Nirel?” Aysu asked while she fully turned his hand to an unrecognisable part. “Will you let those women go or not?”

“I don’t…” He gritted his teeth in pain. “I don’t want to. I dominated those… Arghh!” Aysu intensified her attack as she transferred her torture to his elbow joint.

“You won’t let them go? Alright.” She twisted his joint as though she was casually turning the bottle cap of a soda drink. “You can continue to suffer. Once you are done suffering, I will find those women and let them out of this place. Then, I will finally put you in your place because you have refused to have complete sense.”

“I…” Nirel’s voice croaked.

“What is that, you lying bastard?”

“Argh! How are you this fucking strong, Aysu? You are meant to be a very weak omega who has nothing to her name except her father’s wealth.”

“If you must know,” she held his chin to maintain eye contact, “I also don’t know why I am this strong. But you know what, I am enjoying every bit of this moment. I wish the women whose lives you destroyed could be here to see this. You know what? I think it would be more grand to allow them to finish this torture.”

“What?” Fear appeared in his eyes.

“I am sure they would have picked up a technique or two from the many times you killed the women who refused to do your bidding.” Aysu was soaring. That moment was very thrilling. “I would ask you where they are, but I know you would never say.”

“Aysu,” he carefully called, “let’s discuss this better, okay?”

“Why should we? You are the one who ruined lives, why should you even get to discuss anything?”

“We once shared a bond, Aysu. We-”

“Yes, we did. And I would have loved to respect the history between us. But,” she dropped his chin and he collapsed onto the ground, “you have gone too far. You destroyed the system of an entire pack just because you wished to. That is not forgivable.”

“Oh well.” The distress on Nirel’s face quickly disappeared and he rose to his feet in a rather dramatic way. “If that’s what you think, I have no choice but to get rid of you as well.”

Aysu scoffed. “I would like to see you try.”

Nirel started to shift again. “But it won’t be a fast one. I will make sure I have my way with you as slowly as possible. I will make sure that stupid mate of yours watches and then,” his hefty, furry hand was raised, “I will tear you, limb by limb.”

The hand was about to strike her, but a force from behind Aysu pushed Nirel so hard that his body crushed the wall and exposed a part of the next room.

“Why does he speak so much?” Ximun asked no one in particular, his strutting showing that he was proud that he was able to shut Nirel up.

And, on hearing his voice, Aysu let go of her confidence and fear altogether and turned to face him.

“Ximun.”

“My Queen.” He held her hand and searched her eyes dearly. “Are you hurt anywhere?”

She shook her head. “Are you hurt anywhere?”

“I am okay, Aysu. Oh goodness.” He quickly hugged her. “I am so glad he didn’t hurt you. I am very happy that you did the hurting instead.”

Aysu laughed even though it didn’t last for long. “Ximun, I think something about me is changing. My power display might have looked cool, but I am a little scared. Is there a glitch in my system? Why am I manifesting powers out of nowhere?”

Ximun dissolved their embrace and held her shoulders instead. “There is nothing wrong with you, okay? I also don’t know what is going on, but I am a hundred per cent sure that it is a good thing. So, let us wrap up this Nirel issue and get those women out of this place.”

“Okay.” Aysu nodded.

“Do you really think I will let you leave?” Nirel’s wolfish voice thundered from the room where he was pushed into and soon, he was facing them, his eyes blazing red. “How dare you ruin my plans and think that you’ll get away with it? How can you…”

While Nirel spoke, the little push in Aysu’s soul that led her to do the wondrous things she did gave her an idea.

And with a whisper, she said to Ximun, “Can you take a few steps back? I want to try something.”

“Are you sure? What do you want to do?”

“Just cover me,” she hurriedly responded and soon, her feet were rushing in the direction of the throne. And when she was close enough to sit on the seat, she screamed, “Hey, Nirel! It’s me you want, so come and get me.”

Bewildered, Ximun cautiously asked, “Aysu? What are you doing?”

She dashed her man a smile.

And the Lycan, with full wickedness in his eyes approached her. Once he was right in front of her, she climbed his throne and smugly faced him.

In no way was Aysu sure that what she was about to do would work, but since she had earlier managed to turn Nirel’s hand into a mess, she became very confident in the strange powers she supposedly had.

“This.”

With immediate effect, her entire body sprang into the air. She flipped and made sure that one of her feet landed on the wolf’s forehead with the greatest force. Once that happened, Nirel was flung out of that room and nothing was left of him as his entire body crushed the roof and flew past everyone’s view.
