chapter 88: Face her wrath.
Vladimyr moved the rocking chair softly and leaned back comfortably. She didn't go to the office today because she feels bad. So she chose to stay at her home first to relax. Vlad picked the glass of milk on the glass table then gulped a little. And the vegetable donut Lucien made for her and her kids before he went to work.
She allowed herself to relax and indulge in the beautiful view from her green yard. Where you can see tall trees of various fruits, plants and colored flowers. The clear blue sky with a slight streak of haze.
Vlad closes her eyes and feels the silence while she inhales the fresh air, filled with flower and fruit scent. She relaxed for a moment, when she felt a presence come. It was smooth and quiet.
"What do you need?" she asked in a plain tone. It was Malia, based on how she moved quietly.
"Madame, Mr. Mendoza and General Smith want to talk to you."
"Take them here, we'll talk here." she said.
Malia bowed her head before leaving, a few moments later the two men came. Ethan was wearing casual attire while Noah was in his office suit.
They both rushed in.
"Vladimyr we need to talk, privately!"
Vlad looked up at Noah. She raised an eyebrow but she knew what they were going to talk about was confidential.
A thick brown envelope was carefully placed on her office desk. As she was sitting on her recliner chair, diverts her gaze to Ethan, Noah and the envelope laying on her desk. Vlad lazily took the envelope and started analyzing all the information written on the papers, she unintentionally gripped the edge of the papers slowly. When she found out the info written on it was all about the person she used to trust.
"CAN you prepare this for me?"
Lucien chose a bouquet of red and white roses to buy. He had just returned from the office so he thought of buying flowers for Vlad. The color of them was just right for Vlad. Red is for being brave, loving. And white is the kindness of its heart. They Wrapped it in pink, bouquet wrapping paper.
Lucien carefully placed beside him the large bouquet of flowers for Vladimyr.
"That's a nice gift, boss." Casper said enthusiastically. She glanced at him from the rear view mirror while driving.
"I hope she likes it."
"Ma'am Vladimyr? I'm sure she'll love it as long as it's from you."
"Yeah I hope so."
Lucien felt lively when he stepped out of his car. Carrying a large bouquet of red and white flowers. He took big steps when he entered the house and immediately his eyes searched for the woman he loved the most.
"Baby?" he called. His voice echoed around the whole area as he went to the wide, fiber glass staircase, he stopped on his tracks. When his eyes fell on the woman wearing a powder blue maxi dress. With the group of men sitting quietly on the mustard couch, across her. She is quiet as if she is in deep thought about something.
"Baby! You're here!" Lucien greeted Vlad warmly but she didn't budge. She remained leaning on the backrest of the couch as if she didn't hear him.
Lucien's forehead furrowed slightly in astonishment. His heart began to pound heavily.
He knew when Vladimyr was acting differently, something was really off. It means something that she found out that angered her and trying to suppress it to keep the calm posture.
Lucien secretly swallowed. He didn't know what to do because even he was nervous. For some unknown reason, something suddenly entered his mind about the secret he was keeping from Vlad.
Immense anxiety immediately engulfed his heart as he tried to dispel such thoughts. Even though he knew to himself that the time would come when everything would be revealed to Vlad as well.
Lucien secretly drew courage after Vlad did not move. He encouraged himself and the sweet smile he was trying to keep on his lips. Before finally approaching Vladimyr to greet and give her a kiss on the lips as he used to do every time he came home.
"My love" he greeted bravely but he was stunned when he heard the faint sound from the cackling gun.
"B-baby? ..." he stuttered. He looked at Vladimyr with confused and slightly frightened eyes.
"Who are you?" Vlad asked, aiming her gun's nozzle towards Lucien. Her eyes were frigid and dark.
Lucien's jaw almost dropped after hearing those questions from Vladimyr. His mouth twitched slightly and his tongue seemed to recede as he tried to figure out the right word to start explaining it.
But Lucien knew that no matter what he said, those words would never make Vladimyr feel better. As clear as a day he knows she's furious, and he has to admit everything rather than deny it. He has to be honest to her and face her wrath then cover it with another lie.
"I-I'm .... I'm Lucien Ezquillon ... I'm Luvien's older twin brother."
Lucien barely uttered those words in response. As if something is clogging in his throat.
Immediately, tears fell on his cheeks as he looked at Vladimyr, asking for her understanding. But he also immediately looked down because he knew there's no forgiveness for deceiving her in such a long time.
"Twin..." Vlad uttered. Keeping her expressionless eyes and the gun to his direction.
There was a glint of shock in Vladimyr's eyes but she immediately hid it as well.
"I-I'm older than him... A-and we didn't grow up together."
"I didn't even know he had twins... During the year we were in a relationship, he didn't even tell me he had a twin brother."
"I'm sorry baby-"
"Tell me why did you ... Pretend to be him?"
"It was a misunderstanding. I thought... I thought you were the reason why... Why did he have a heart attack? And I was angry so I planned to avenge him. I wanted to destroy you." He explained.
