The CEO’s Hidden Love Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires

Chapter 1361

Yesterday, when Madison initiated a chat with Everett, Dorothy didn't think much of it. Seeing Everett in person, that was something to get excited about, and she got it. But asking about him again the next day? That left a slightly sour taste in her mouth.

"Madison, you're here to work, not to fan over celebrities."

"I get that," Madison muttered, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment from the blunt reprimand. "I was just asking, that's all. Mr. Lopez and you, you guys are like a match made in heaven. Can't blame me for taking an extra look, right? Ms. Sanchez, don't you think you're being a bit too touchy?"

Dorothy furrowed her brows, on the verge of saying something more, but eventually, she just waved a hand dismissively. "Go on, get back to work. Just remember what I said." Maybe she was overthinking it.

It wasn't fair to suspect anyone who took an extra glance at Everett or asked a few questions about him.

Madison was probably just a young girl admiring a successful man, nothing more.

Once Madison had left, Dorothy dove back into her work. After all, the new company was just taking off. While Everett was backing the major stuff, she couldn't depend on him for everything.

The next few hours flew by, unnoticed until Everett's call snapped her back to reality.

"Dorothy, did you have lunch yet?"

Caught off-guard, she quickly plastered on a pleasing smile. "...I was just about to, after finishing up here."

"You still thinking about trying for another baby?" Everett's tone was serious, almost like a boss scolding an employee. "Skipping meals now, are we? At this rate, forget about having another child." "I do! I want to! I'm heading out right now."

"Are you sure you're going right now?"

Dorothy nearly raised her hand as if to swear, "I am, I promise. I'll eat and then come back, the work can wait."

Everett seemed to believe her finally, with a soft grunt of acknowledgment before hanging up.

Dorothy placed her phone aside, her gaze still glued to her computer screen.

The proposal was nearly done, and

she had to finish it! Most of the project's Trust-E landed were thanks to Everett, but that wasn't why Dorothy started Trust-E.

She wanted to stand on her own, not lean on Everett.

Less than two minutes later, the office door creaked open.

Assuming it was one of the staff, Dorothy didn't look up. "Come in."

But the moment the door opened wider, she sensed something was off. Everett.

His presence was unmistakable.

"It's been three minutes since we hung up, and you're still in your office."

"..." Caught red-handed! "How... When did you get here?"

"I was outside your office when I called you."

Catching her in a lie, Dorothy felt a flush of embarrassment, but her innate stubbornness quickly took over.

She pouted, standing up from her chair, "Testing me? Everett, don't you trust me at all?"

Everett wasn't one to be swayed easily.

He strode over, his gaze briefly

scanning the proposal on the screen. "If I trusted you, I wouldn't

have to come here myself to catch

you."

I

"Wasn't it you who said, as long as I agree to trying for a second child, you'd listen to me about everything?"

Dorothy, knowing she was in the

wrong, could only step forward and take his hand. "I'm sorry, okay? 'm going to eat right now. It won't happen again."
