The Bride s Revenge ( Marion Cartier And Jameson Royce ) Chapter 69
Chapter 69 Don’t Forget About Saturday
The car quieted down again, but the atmosphere was noticeably better than
before.
Marion touched her forehead, which had been bumped earlier. Fortunately, it did not hurt anymore. As she withdrew her hand, she accidentally hit Lucas’s body. They were sitting too close!
“Sorry, Mr. Craig. Let me shift to the side a bit,” Marion said as she moved. However, she felt it was not enough. The distance of just over ten centimeters between them was still too close.
Just as she was about to move a bit more, Lucas suddenly spoke, “Tomorrow is Friday.”
At first, Marion did not catch on. “Oh, yes, the week passes by so quickly!”
She looked at him and met his deep black eyes. Marion’s heart skipped a beat, and the next moment, an important realization hit her. She was moving in with Lucas on Saturday!
Upon realizing this, Marion felt uneasy. Lucas looked at her and added, “Miss Marion, remember to organize your important belongings tomorrow, and don’t forget about Saturday.”
“…I haven’t forgotten.” Marion felt anxious. She could have had a pleasant evening and looked forward to tomorrow, but now even enjoying the night seemed like a challenge.
As they continued talking, the car suddenly made a left turn. Marion was caught off guard and as she was unable to brace herself with her feet, she was pulled by inertia towards the right.
She stumbled and ended up falling onto Lucas’s lap.
Sandalwood fragrance filled the air around her.
As the car took another turn, Marion attempted to sit up, only to be met with another abrupt brake. The driver seemed to have a less–than–stellar driving technique!
Lucas used his right arm to circle her shoulder and prevented her from colliding with the seat.
The driver in the front quickly apologized. “I’m sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Craig. Another car suddenly turned in front of us.”

“No problem, just keep going,” Lucas replied in his deep voice. Marion blushed and sat up. “I’m sorry.”
“Did you hit anything?” Lucas asked.
Marion shook her head hastily. “No, I’m alright.” She had practically landed in his lap. What could she have hit?
As Marion finished speaking, her face suddenly heated up.
She looked up again and stared at Lucas’s face inches away from hers, momentarily lost in thought. The ambient light from outside flickered through the window, casting varying shadows on his face. With the play of light and shadow, the contours of his face became even more pronounced.
“Then why are you so red?” he asked and lowered his face a few inches closer. His finely sculpted nose almost touched her face.
Lucas stared at her intently and grunted, “Hmm?”
The warm breath from the man colored her face even more. She turned her face aside, pushed Lucas away, and escaped from his embrace. She fanned herself with her hand as she said, “It’s a little hot in here.”
Lucas casually leaned back in his seat and glanced at her. “Oh, then I’ll have the driver lower the temperature.”
“Liam, lower the air conditioning a bit.”
In her sleeveless dress, Marion thought to herself, ‘Really?’
“Alright, Mr. Craig.”
The air conditioning inside the car was quickly adjusted. However, after five minutes, Marion started feeling cold. Since she had just claimed to be hot, she could not suddenly say she was cold. That would be embarrassing.
Marion had no choice but to close her eyes, grit her teeth, and pretend to sleep while enduring the chill.
Suddenly, she felt a coat being draped over her. Instantly, warmth enveloped her. Marion opened one eye and found Lucas looking at her. “Aren’t you supposed to be asleep?”
She did not know what to say to that.
