Old Bright was the planetary programmer Zhang who witnessed the madness spreading to machines from the dragons’ touch. He took it upon himself to shut down all the contaminated systems to prevent further trouble on the planet balancing on the verge of an ecological doom.

The artificial intelligences had many forms and dwelled in spaceships and machinery, under the seas, and below the ground. Zheng feared the dragons had corrupted everything in Watergate surmising the artificials needed to be destroyed.

Old Bright teaches never to trust artificial intelligence and to destroy the technological remains carrying even the slightest hint of autonomous functions.

This old has only a few followers, but he is known all over Watergate. The corruption is said to cause illnesses of the mind and body, but more often it manifests indirectly in the form of malfunctioning technology. Those who believe in old Bright don’t oppose all the technology but consider protection and safety of utmost importance when dealing with it.
