Chapter 28
CHAPTER 28
Aliyah personality is still splitting, that's why Atif gets so confused about her attitude right now.
But this psychological disorder of Aliyah is unknown to Atif.
So when he reads the reply of Aliyah; "No. She can't." he doubts if Aliyah is the one who sent this message to him or another person.
Atif wants to confirm.
He typed his reply.
"Are you still Aliyah?" Atif asked.
"Maybe not?!" Aliyah replied.
"Then may I know who you are? Atif replied.
"Hahaha. Google it. Maybe Google can answer all your questions. Bye! "Aliyah replied, ending their conversation.
Atif didn't dare to send another message.
Atif doesn't know what to think this time.
He remembers when Aliyah revealed her feelings to him.
If Atif only knew what is the truth that time he would also reveal his true feelings for her.
But he doesn't know that Aliyah is just telling lies that she has a husband and kids.
Atif doesn't know what to do this time.
He was wrong of thinking that he is not really important to Aliyah and she forgets their friendship. The truth is Aliyah cannot stop herself from falling for him even if she ends their communication. Aliyah didn't forget him.
Atif understand now that Aliyah just end their communication because she is too afraid of getting hurt. Because of that Atif decided that he will continue to pretend as Almir so that he will know Aliyah more. And to know if what they feel for each other still has a chance.
To know if their feeling for each other is for real.
To know if they are meant for each other or not.
And when he confirmed that it has a chance he will reveal to Aliyah the truth that he is also Atif just pretending as Almir.
Atif still has work for tomorrow he needs to go to sleep.
So he forced himself to go back to sleep.
But still the thoughts about Aliyah lingers in his mind.
There are specific types of personality disorders. One of them is the so-called Borderline Personality Disorder. People with BPD have trouble regulating their emotions effectively. They may experience splitting. Splitting is considered a coping mechanism that helps a person with BPD avoid getting hurt. It allows them to discard things and people they have decided are all bad.
Splitting is an unconscious attempt to safeguard ego and prevent anxiety. A defense mechanism commonly developed by people who have experienced early life traumas, such as abuse and abandonment.
In essence, people with BPD are often terrified that others will leave them. They have an intense fear of abandonment. However, they can also shift suddenly to feeling smothered and fearful of intimacy, which leads them to withdraw from relationships. The result is a constant back-and-forth between demands for love or attention and sudden withdrawal or isolation.
Intimacy avoidance describes the degree to which an individual withdraws from close emotional contact from a relationship partner.
As a result an intimacy phobic person, even if she or he did stumble across their ideal partner, they wouldn't choose them. Intimacy phobias are after one thing, and that is to avoid being hurt.
This suggests that romantic relationships with people with BPD are more likely to end in a breakup.
People with borderline personality disorder (BPD) often have rocky relationships, both romantic and platonic.
They experience constant changes in emotions.
In short, if a person has BPD, everything feels unstable: relationships, moods, thinking, and behavior-even identity. Self-image, goals, and even likes and dislikes may change frequently in ways that feel confusing and unclear.
And that is exactly what is happening to Aliyah.
She wants Atif as a friend or lover.
But Aliyah has a fear that Atif will one day leave and stop the communication between them.
So to avoid being hurt, she is the one who stops the communication first before Atif will do it.
Because of her psychological condition she is often terrified that others will leave her.
She has an intense fear of abandonment.
In addition, people with BPD often experience a profound lack of self-image and self-concept. They may feel like they don't know who they are, and their perception of their own identity may vary widely over time. They might even have trouble seeing the different side of their personality as the same person. They change who they are depending on their circumstances and what they think others want from them. Their thoughts and feelings change to match the current situation that they are experiencing.
Because of that Aliyah behaves in two different characters which have exactly opposite attitudes with each other.
Atif decided to know Aliyah more.
Will he discover that Aliyah has a psychological disorder?
And when he knows that Aliyah can consider a psychiatric patient will he continue to communicate with her?
Will Atif still reveal to Aliyah that he also has feelings for her?☐☐☐☐☐
