Chapter 22
The door was kicked open.
Brittany heard footsteps, and assuming it was Finn and his gang, she immediately grabbed a vase nearby, ready to strike first.
Isaac felt a wave of dizziness, then grabbed Brittany's wrist. The vase in her hand fell to the ground.
Crash!
Shards flew everywhere.
A familiar masculine scent hit her. Brittany looked up.
"Zakky."
She recognized the visitor and breathed a sigh of relief, her small hands tightly wrapped around his neck, her breathing somewhat rapid.
"Thank God it's you."
Thank God, it wasn't Finn. If she had to fall into someone's hands, Isaac was the best choice.
After all, this wasn't their first run-in.
Isaac held her waist, feeling her abnormal body temperature. "Did they drug you?"
Brittany couldn't speak, drenched in cold sweat.
"Damn it!"
He placed Brittany in the tub, turned on the shower head, and let cold water pour down. Brittany trembled subconsciously, her small hands tightly gripping the edge of the tub, her knuckles turning white. Splash-
Brittany's phone fell into the tub and was completely ruined.
Isaac took out his phone, left the bathroom, and called Nathan.
"Find a reliable doctor."
Nathan, thinking Isaac was hurt, said, "Mr. Salter, are you injured?"
"Not me."
Nathan breathed a sigh of relief. "Alright, I'll arrange it right away."
The doctor arrived quickly, an older woman. She paused when she saw Brittany in the tub, then proceeded to check her and give her an antidote.
Isaac stood outside the door, hands behind his back. "Can you tell what drug she was given?"
"It appears to be some kind of incense mixed with a strong drug." The doctor took a breath and said, "Luckily, there was no sexual contact. Otherwise, the drug's effects would have been much stronger." The doctor was obviously experienced, and she was just curious why the usually aloof Isaac would help a girl.
Brittany was given the antidote.
Isaac approached the tub, drained the water, and said, "Get out."
The doctor understood and left, waiting outside the door in case she was needed again.
Isaac quickly bathed Brittany, wrapped her in a towel, put her on the bed, and covered her with a blanket. By now, he was drenched in sweat.
Brittany calmed down for about an hour, then started to groan again.
The doctor gave her another dose of the antidote, and Brittany finally settled down.
Isaac was soaked. Nathan thoughtfully brought a change of clothes: "Mr. Salter, you should change."
"Find out what happened to her today."
Nathan understood: "Yes."
The doctor left a bottle of the antidote and then left.
Isaac came out of the bathroom. Nathan opened the door and said, "Mr. Salter, I found out it was Patrina. She threatened Ms. Dustin using her mother's belongings, and Ms. Dustin had to go meet her."
Nathan was shocked when he found this out.
A family had used such a malicious drug. Even Finn, who was once Ms. Dustin's boyfriend, was involved.
Isaac looked at Brittany, who was now calm. Her color was back to normal, and her eyes were gentle. Her breathing was a bit rushed, but compared to before, she was much better.
He said, "You can leave now."
Nathan left the room. Isaac walked to her bedside, quietly watching her and not saying a word for a long time.
When Brittany woke up again, she found herself in a strange room.
