The Betrayed Luna Mated to the Lycan King by Laura-rave

Chapter 15

Chapter 15

The Betrayed Luna-

Natalie shrivels up in fear, her palms clammy with sweat as the woman takes a step towards her, her eyes still filled with disgust directed at her. “Look at me when I’m talking to you, girl.” She snapped lowly, forcing Natalie to look at her.

way

“You’re his grace’s personal maid, right?” She asks and Natalie nods shakily. She still remembers the the woman had gone insane at the dining area after she heard Natalie was allowed to sit with them. She had gone ballistic that Thorne had to ask that she leave the place. Natalie could only imagine the hatred the woman held towards her even though she’d done nothing wrong to her.

“My eyes are on you.” She muttered, her fixed on Natalie. Natalie’s eyes widen at her words, her mouth falling open at the insinuation of her words.

“M–ma” Natalie stuttered out just at the same time she heard someone call out her name very loudly. “Natalie!” She snaps her head to the side only to see Katherine standing with her

eyes filled with curiosity. Her eyes widen on recognizing one of Throne’s family members, she immediately bows her head in respect.

“Forgive me, I didn’t..” she trailed off pitifully. The woman straightened her back and stalked past Natalie, her rather large dress brushing past Natalie’s arm. The other stood still, b*dy filled with goosebumps.

The woman walks away and Natalie’s knees almost give out. The woman had such a powerful auto it weakened her internally. It’s something she’s never felt before, not even with the Lycan king before. Her aura was dark and ominous, it scared Natalie deep to her bones.

“What were you doing talking to Her?” Katharine whispered–yelled, grabbing Natalie by the arm as she dragged her through the stairs and back into her room. Natalie still hasn’t gone out of the daze the woman had locked her in. She blinked twice and just then does she noticed a worried/bothered–looking Katherine peering at her with wide eyes.

“What?” She croaks out.

“What were you doing with Her?” She asked again, this time a bit more calming than she did previously. Natalie swallowed, looking down at her hands, she had stopped sweating now. The woman’s voice rings back in her mind.

“She- She told me her eyes are on me,” Natalie replied, watching Katherine’s face crumble. ()

“Who is she?” She asked.

“She’s Paula. She’s Frances’s godmother. They aren’t blood related but know that she’s like a mother to Frances.” She says and Natalie furrows her eyebrows just as Katherine grabs her shoulders, looking at her intently.

“Did something happen to you at the auction you went for?” She asked, tilting her head sideways, waiting for Natalie’s response. “Anything?” She asked and Natalie shook her head.

“Nothing, why?”

Katherine drops her hands, her l*ps caught between her teeth. She looked at Natalie and then looked away only to look at Natalie again. “Haven’t you noticed the others? They act weird upon mentioning your name. You haven’t seen anything?” She asked and Natalie stiffened, remembering how she had been ignored in the kitchen.

She swallows and looks at Katherine with slight panic “Did something happen?” She asked, anxiety settling inside of her.

“I don’t know what it is but I’ll find out. Meanwhile, try and stay away from Frances and Paula. I don’t..” Katherine trails off like she’s removing something.

“What’s it?”

She shakes her head, her l*ps palmed into a thin line. “Especially Paula. She’s not good news and it’s a known fact.” She tells Natalie.

“I have to go, I have some things to do for the day. Also, I assume you were looking for Alpha Thorne?” She asks and Natalie nods.

“He’s at the field, you’ll find him there.” She walks out of the room, leaving Natalie to nurse her worry alone. Natalie heaved deeply, her thoughts distorted. She had struggled to sleep so badly when they got back from the auction after seeing Eleanor with that huge ring on her finger and now this… The moon goddess must really love to see her suffer.

She stepped out of the room for a second time, this time with a destination in her mind. She hurries her steps seeing as she’s already late that morning. Natalie walks towards the hall leading to the fields. She could already hear the grunts and whistles from the men training. She’s never been to a training field. They didn’t have something that huge back in silver rain pack and so she’s never seen the man training since it was done in an enclosed room but this, this is a different place. A bigger, wider, and larger pack.

Natalie pushed the door and stepped out to the field, her eyes widening in shock on seeing just how large the place was. It was divided into two parts, one for dual trialing and one for single training. The men were shirtless, groaning and grunting as they jumped over each other. Natalie stood still, eyes unblinking as she watched. The field was large, larger than her expectations and there were more than a hundred men training currently. She could perceive the various scents of the man, almost drowning her head in it. Their scent blockers must have been wearing off.

Natalie looked around, trying to find Thorne in the midst of the many men. It doesn’t take much. She finds him easily even in the midst of hundreds. He stood tall and proud, his long hair was no longer tied and instead let loose, the strands falling to his n*eck, and his b*dy glistened with sweat. She watches him keenly like she is in a trance, watching as he lifts a bottled water to his l*ps, his bicep seems to twitch at that very moment, she swallows hard, unable to look away. He lifts his hand, running his fingers through his thick hair. He suddenly looks towards her direction, his eyes meeting hers immediately.

Natalie hiccups involuntarily, her breath hitching at the look in his eyes. He cocks his eyebrows up, he raises two of his fingers, and calls her to come. Natalie doesn’t waste time before rushing towards him. The different scents of the men’s training made her stomach churn and not in a good way. For a second she was thankful she didn’t have her wolf here, it would’ve been a hassle for her.

Natalie stops in front of Thorne, she lowers her head in respect. “I- I’m sorry your grace. I overslept and didn’t realize how late it had gotten. I must have missed the morning call.” She rushed out, not wanting to make a mistake with the man at all.

She hears the man chuckle and furrows her eyebrows in slight confusion. She raises her head and just then does she notices the Beta standing next to the Lycan king. In his hands were a large tablet and a towel.

“That’s alright. We have-” Thorne stops as Nathan touches him on the shoulder. “There’s a guest, please excuse me.” He tells Thorne who nods. The Beta walks back the same way Natalie had come in.

“We had a late night yesterday. I asked that you shouldn’t be woken up.” He says casually, turning to look at the men who had gathered for training and waiting for Thorne’s instructions. Natalie’s brain short circuits at his words, her brain unable to come up with anything.

“You.” she trailed off stupidly.

“Each of you can choose your partners after which you will be given a test trial. You will work on your partner’s weakness.” Thorne tells the men. The men began to do as he said,

choosing their partners.

“You can go ahead and start. Remember you have to work on your partner’s weakness.” He says again as the first pair runs to the other side of the field.

“Your grace,” Natalie calls out to him softly, he turns to look at her, his pitch–black orbs on

her.

“W–why did you?..” she trailed off again, anyone would literally die to be in her position and yet here she was asking such a stupid question.

Thorne looks at her rather intently, it shouldn’t have her feeling hot and bothered. It shouldn’t have her tongue running dry and her throat parched. It shouldn’t have her heart beating a thousand times in a second. It shouldn’t have her palms clammy with sweat.

He opens his mouth to speak but stops, his eyes traveling behind Natalie. A frown etched on his face immediately. “What’s wrong?” He asks and she turns to see who he is talking to only to see the beta rushing toward him. It’s weird seeing him this way. Natalie has only seen him calm and collected.

Nathan stops right in front of them, lowering his head a little. “You have to come.” He says and from his tone, it sounded urgent.

Thorne looks at him for a second and nods, taking his top from a male slave and wearing it, already walking towards the pack house, Natalie hot on his heels, wondering what the matter could be. Thorne pushes the door leading to the pack open and steps in, Nathan following him. Natalie takes a step in too but is actively stopped by Nathan, his hand blocking the door.

“You’re dismissed.” He says. Natalie stops, eyes wide.

“Oh, I didn’t-“

“Leave her alone and let her in.” Thorne’s deep voice booms. Natalie looked at him, she thought he was long gone already.

“Your grace, you can’t,” Nathan says almost frustratedly.

“Will you defy my orders now? Let her in!” Thorne commands. Nathan looks at him for a second longer and nods, removing his hand from the door.

Thorne looks at her and then turns to walk away, this time, she’s just a step behind him. Natalie is surprised to see the entire pack house vacant. Not a soul roaming through the

corridors. She furrows her eyebrows in confusion her steps slowing down easily as they approached the living room. A strange man sat on the couch, legs crossed against each other, a magazine in his hands. He looks up and Natalie gasps lowly. The man stood up, flinching the magazine to the couch.

“Brother..” he says, a cocky smile on his face as he stepped forward, stretching his hands out for a shake. Thorne looks at him and his gaze drops to his hand.

“What are you doing here?” He asks, his voice hard and thick with no emotion, not like there was ever any.

The man chuckles lowly, retreating his hand, and slides it into his pocket “No warm greetings, no hug, no smile, nothing. That’s not good now, is it? Mother didn’t teach us that way, did she?“He says. Natalie glanced at the beta whose eyes were on the man.

It’s Thorne’s turn to smirk, “How would you know? You’re a bastard. All you know is she hated your guts.” He throws back at the man. Natalie sees the man an expression dimmed slightly, a frown etched on his face at Thorne’s words.

“I searched for you last night. Why didn’t you show yourself there last night and instead did this dramatic show? I didn’t peg you as an attention seeker.” Natalie is reminded of the lost look on Thorne’s face. It did look like he had been looking forward to seeing someone, she just didn’t know it was his brother. A brother she’d never heard of. Until now.

“You should’ve I am a sucker for attention, after all, your mother…” he stops, smirking a little “After what happened at my birth.” He smirks and Thorne’s frown deepens.

“I saw you and I saw..” The man’s eyes shift from Thorne to Natalie. She freezes at his gaze. “You.” He says, looking at her father intently, taking the whole of her in.

“You’re not Frances. Who are you?” He asked, looking at the clothes she had on.

He flicks his eyes over to Thorne. “Your new whore?” Natalie flinches like she’s been struck against the cheek.

“Shut it.” Thorne grits out, his hands folded into a tight fist.

“What are you doing here, Jeff?” Thorne asks. Natalie looks at the Jeff man who is Thorne’s brother. He looked similar to Throne yet different. Where Thorne was graceful and calm, Jeff was Edgy and sharp. The two constricting each other.

“This is my pack, My kingdom isn’t it?” He asks and Thorne is quick to react, his eyes flash a bright red, something Natalie has never seen. She gasped quietly in shock.

“Don’t push your luck, Jeffery! State your mission.” He gritted out.

Jeffery smirks his eyes flickering to Natalie. “Let her pleasure me for the night and I’ll tell you. I bring you good news. Important news.” He says. Natalie’s heart drops, her b*dy trembling with fear. She wished she had listened when the beta asked that she leave.

“What?” Thorne nearly yells out of anger.

“Is that reaction because of the news I brought or because I asked for her?” He asks casually, grinning at Natalie who cowers.

“Don’t test my patience. You might as well get the f**k out of my kingdom if you have nothing sensible to say.” Thorne barks out.

“Do

you think I’ll travel for three days if I didn’t have anything sensible to say? I am doing you a big favor and you’ll thank me for it. All I ask for in return is her. Let her pleasure me tonight.”

“Don’t you even dare? She’s not pleasuring anyone! Don’t f**king mess with me, I will snap you in half if you ever suggest this to me again.” Thorne growls out, eyes bright red, his fist shaking from anger.

Jeff looks at Natalie and smirks. “Fine. Let her take my bags into my room. She can do that at least. I’ll tell you what I brought.”

“She will not try-” He doesn’t get to complete his words.

“Alpha, she’s just helping him take the bags to his room. He can’t do anything.” Nathan says in a bid to convince him. Thorne stopped, he glanced at a scared Natalie and back at his brother who had the cockiest smile on his face.

“Two minutes. If she’s not back with me within two minutes, I will snap your n*eck in two.”

“No need to threaten me. I got it.” Natalie gulps the pile in her throat and goes ahead to pick up the two bags the man had brought with him. She began to walk towards the stairs with the man following her.

Natalie pushes the door open and walks in with the bags, setting them on the floor, she straightens her back, oblivious to the eyes watching her.

“Tell me, Natalie, right?” The man’s voice makes her flinch. She looks towards the door where the man is standing and nods meekly.

“Has he always been like that? So protective over you? Is there something else…” He trailed off, head singles sideways, waiting for her to speak.

“I’m not sure. His grace is protective of everyone.” She replied, gosling her hands.

Jeff stares at her for some minutes and smirks. “You don’t have to be scared. My brother and I have a unique relationship.” He says. Natalie bites her l*ps, storing the information so she can tell Katherine and ask why no one knows of the Lycan king’s supposed brother.

“I’ll leave you to be now, please excuse me.” She tells him. The man doesn’t budge from where he stands still blocking the door.

“What pack did you come from?” He asks again. Natalie swallows hard.

“I was offered to his grace as his annual offer-”

“I know all of the offering bullshit. I’m asking what pack you came from.” He cuts her off. Natalie sighed internally.

“Silver–rain pack.” She replied.

She watched as Jeff’s eyes settled in recognition. “You’re from there? Interesting.” He murmured, finally moving away from the door so she could leave.

“Tell his grace, I didn’t hurt you.” He says and she nods, halfway out the door only for him to stop her for the second time.

“Also, Natalie. I have a feeling you and I will get along a lot more than you think.” He

grinned at her and shut the door close. Natalie stood there dumbfounded and confused as to what he meant.

“Has he always been like that? So protective over you? Is there something else…” He trailed off, head singles sideways, waiting for her to speak.
