Chapter 166 – The Alphas’ Porn Star Mate
Chloe POV
ལ་
Walking with Estel back towards the training grounds and warrior center, I could feel her caution and distrust.
I couldn't blame her. Our first meeting was shit, and though she shouldn't have done what she did to piss me off, I could have handled it better too.
I don't really feel anything but pity for her now. Now that I know why she did it in the first place. She could start whispering in my ear, Mick's ear, or Miles's ear, and I would be able to overlook it all after all the revelations put on the table between me and my mates.
"A snake?" Miles had said. He rubbed both of his hands down his face, staring at me in disbelief.
I overloaded him with too much information. I knew I lost him somewhere between describing all the different visions I had seen from the flask. A flask that I'm not entirely convinced wasn't filled with LSD laced moldy cool-aide or something. Hearing myself tell my mates everything, I was beginning to think I was crazy too.
Then when I told them about the vision I got from touching Boyd....
By the looks on my mate's faces, I could tell they were contemplating sending me off to the looney bin.
"I know it sounds crazy, but it's what I saw," I told them, still refusing to slip into the possibility that I might just be crazy.
"A snake?" Miles repeated. It was like he couldn't think of any other words.
I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Yes, a fucking snake. An evil, black, slimy-looking snake. It was...," I thought deeply about the sensation I got when I touched him. "It was like the snake was coiling around him, and entrapping him, but then struck out when I placed my hand on his arm."" Miles brought his feet up on the bed, hooking them between the top and bottom mattress, and rested his elbow on his knee, and his chin in his hand. He was looking at me sideways, trying to comprehend it all. "A snake?"
"Oh my fucking gawd, I'm going to go find a snake and show you so you can get this faster. Yes, Miles! It was a damn snake."
"Hey," Mick patted his brother's shoulder. "It's not the strangest thing that's happened because of Chloe."
"Not the strangest? The hell it's not. What else could be stranger than this shit?"
I turned my head curiously, and so did Miles.
"I got Rome," he shrugged. "And, honestly, with what Estel told me, this doesn't seem so far-fetched. I think some kind of dark magic from our snake-loving stalker might be influencing him in more ways than just making Chloe see snakes."
I growled low in my chest at the mention of his unmated friend, making my asshole of a mate smirk. He reached out to grab my hand, pulling me towards him.
"I like seeing you jealous."
"Fuck you," I hissed.
"Mmh, there it is," Mick chuckled, pulling me into his lap. "Makes me feel like you like me a little."
"I'm not going to keep liking you a little if you don't stop being an ass."
He smiled, then kissed the tip of my chin. "Having my mate turn all Alpha female, psycho and possessive turns me on." He scraped his teeth against my skin. "Psycho?" I growled.
"Completely psycho," Mick chuckled. "I like seeing you go psycho lover over me. I'm sure Miles feels the same way."
"Don't pull me into your toxic way of thinking," Miles grumbled. "I'm still stuck on the snake shit."
"Don't act like you weren't getting tight in the pants over Chloe claiming us," Mick chuckled. "Why do you think Rome got so horny?"
"Because my wolf is a hussy who hadn't gotten any in a while," I growled.
"Nah, he wanted it bad. Ivar too," Mick looked to his brother for confirmation.
Miles stared at me for a while, then his lips turned up in the corners. "Yeah. It is pretty hot seeing you claim us."
I scoffed. "I'll show you a true psycho if you go around letting girls whisper in your ears anymore."
"Aw, it wasn't like that. Really, cara mia," Mick husked in my ear, his breath making the little hairs stand on end on my neck.
"Then why was she whispering in your ear?"
Mick stilled for a second, then a disgruntled noise left his throat. "Yeah, about that..."
"What about that?" I was on the verge of turning psycho right now.
"I am beginning to think your snake thing with Boyd is a big part of that."
"Huh?" I looked at him like he was the crazy one now. I didn't get what he was trying to say.
"She doesn't want anyone else knowing yet," Mick said carefully, "but as our Luna, and with everything else, I think you need to know too. Estel scented Boyd. Boyd is her mate."
"What?! How?!" He should have claimed her then if that was the case. He didn't look like he wanted much to do with her outside of the pack house when they first got back.
"I don't know. She apparently scented him in the basement where they were being kept. She was trying to get him out, so she didn't say anything back then. He was tied to a chair with wolfsbane, so he didn't have his wolf then either. When they got free, and he had his wolf again, he started treating her like she was the enemy. Estel didn't know what to make of it."
"So she whispered in your ear about Boyd?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah," Mick chuckled, though his eyes were filled with sadness for the girl. "It wasn't what you were thinking at all. She's having a hard time. She wanted to just reject him and move on, but he's pretty weak and has a lot of healing to do. We were talking about a rejection and how it could potentially kill him."
