Taming The Beast In Him

Chapter The journey to the past 7

Jefferson wanted to know why his face looked a little scared, more like she doesn't want to reveal herself, she drew in a deep breath before she started.

"I have never done this before, but I want to show you something that I know you might not want to see..." She trailed in her words before she held his hand.

"And what I'm about to show you, please never disclose it to anyone, just keep the information to yourself" she pleaded, while trying to calm down, her heart was racing rapidly, which made her feel the need to be more open with him. "Please promise me that you won't tell a single soul". He drew in a breath before he nodded and said, "yes I promise I won't tell anyone".

She smiled before she matched the beautiful rose petals, the roses glowed and gave serene energy before the roses started single giving that enticing and beautiful sound that was pleasing to one hearing.

She then pressed her hand on the door and she pushed it with much force. Jeff was looking fascinated by the whole ordeal but he couldn't utter a word, because he wanted to know the result, he drew in a deep breath, while trying to calm down, before he eventually got inside, he knew very well that he needed some to know what was behind that door.

After countless efforts, she managed to open the door, when she was inside the dark tunnel, her heart skipped with fascination, she wanted to explore the moments.

"Where are we going?" He asked, while his eyes easily darted to the rusted wall and were overpowered with cobwebs, he wondered why she was fascinated to go in, despite the fact he noticed the way every part of the tunnel seem old and Dusty.

"Can you please tell me where you are taking us to, I'm nervous" he chuckled at his words because he knew he has never been nervous no matter the problem he faced.

He drew In a deep breath when he heard a very loud growl coming from the South East direction of the tunnel.

"What's that?" He asked, his voice shaky pretending to be scared, rather deep within he doesn't want anything bad to happen to the one woman he has come to understand.

"Don't worry, he's my friend" she said with a smile etched on her face. Jefferson was more worried, he wondered why she would be friends with such a thing.

Then she went further only to notice a man who seemed to be in his sixties, his bald hair was clearly shown under the dimly lit tunnel because there was evidence of candles, and he wore some clothes that seems old and almost torn. His cherry-red lips beamed with smiles when he noticed the presence of Rose.

He immediately hugged her and said, "I miss you, Rose, I thought you were never coming to visit me again," he said with a smile etched on his face, which made him plaster a smile on her face.

"Yes grandpa I missed you," she said excitedly, her heart skipped when she noticed the intense gaze he landed on Jefferson.

Jefferson was feeling awkward under his scorching gaze," Uhm... greetings Grandpa" he decided to awkwardly mimic Rose.

"Come I have something to tell you," he said to them while gesturing for them to follow him which he did, there was that smile etched on his face, that gladdens his heart of Rose.

Because he has always been there for her when no one was.

The old man eventually slide the door open, leaving Jefferson fascinated, when he noticed the surreal environment that almost looked unreal, the evidence of green vegetation and beautiful flowers decorated the entire place.

He darts his eyes to the sky where he noticed birds of different colors and species as they fly their wings in the sky and the beautiful River that glimmers under the moon, due because there was an open space on the mountain that allows the rays of sunlight and the moon to penetrate in the mountain.

"Wow this place looks so beautiful" he comments, she smiled, when she noticed the fascinated look on his face.

He took a deep breath, while trying to calm down, Only for them to hear the soothing voice of the grandfather.

"I'm glad you bought your mate, I have always wanted to see him before I die " he smiled at her, her cheeks all flushed with embarrassment.

But Jefferson had always liked her even from the beginning not that he has ever thought to see her as a mate, he drew in a deep breath, while trying to calm down, then he heard the soothing voice of Rose urging him to follow her to the river for a swim.

He gently shook his head, because he doesn't want to swim while her grandfather was there, the man smiled and asked.

"Don't be scared of my presence, or did you rather prefer a ride?" He asked with a smirk etched on his face.

"Yes grandpa, I'll want a ride please"

"A ride?" Jefferson asked with his brows furrowed, as he darts his eyes in different directions trying to see if there was any horse or any chariot that can be used for riding.

"Yes, we would ride on grandpa," she said excitedly, her heart palpitating with joy.

Before she went close to Jefferson and stared intently into his golden hue eyes.

"I know how you feel, And I know you are confused about the situation and why I had brought you here in the first place..." She drew in a deep breath before she continued, " please don't tell anyone about it, not even your brother, because I don't want anyone to know about you.

You are the only one I have disclosed this information to, for that reason, I don't want you to tell a single soul ".

"Which Information?" He asked, clearly confused. Then he directed his gaze to her grandfather, but it was not her grandfather standing but a huge black dragon.
