Chapter Chapter nineteen
Evadiene
I needed to distract him from my mistake. This wasn’t a conversation I wanted to have when I had my least favourite alcohol in my system. Luckily for me, Covyn was easily distracted. He chased after me with a smug grin on his face and I headed straight to the trees.
I dodged in between them, but along the way it stopped being about distracting him and more about him catching me. I loved that their forest was so dense, and it always gave me some obstacle to hide behind or lose him around. He was faster than me, but I was more crafty.
“Find me!” I called and I heard a big growl, louder than the rest.
I must be really frustrating him.
Behind the next tree I lodged my foot into a knot and jumped up into its branches. Stifling my giggles with my hands over my mouth, I waited for him to catch up.
I saw him circle around the tree and get exasperated when I wasn’t right there. That was it, I couldn’t help the small giggle that slipped past.
“Mate!” He yelled, and he sounded completely flustered, his whole body trembling.
Their was a pain in my chest and it knocked the wind out of me. He was hurting, and I didn’t know why, but I wanted it to stop.
“Covyn?”
He turned back to the tree, looked around it, and then looked up and spotted me in the branches. He stopped and stared at me, not saying anything, and that almost made my chest hurt more.
“Mate?” I offered.
I slight smiled tugged at the side of his face but his body still shook and a second later fur was exploding from him and he was a wolf as large as a horse. My eyes could have popped out of my head.
His nose reached up and started sniffing me, pushing at my legs. I knew that screaming was the wrong reaction but I really, really wanted to.
He pushed against the tree and it swayed, making a whimper escape my lips. With the sound the wolf stopped and sat to look up at me. It looked stoic and serious, but seemed to realize something and put a paw up the tree to stand and reach closer to me. Its nose pushed and nuzzled to get between my legs, even as I tried to push back, but as its nose found the rope burn inside my leg that had been bleeding it stopped.
“It’s fine now,” I promised.
Covyn’s wolf wasn’t listening, though he seemed to still have some thought processes. He knew enough to know the crotch area of Covyn’s sweats on me was empty, and nipped at that to pull me from the tree, making me fall forward to lay over his face until he laid me on the ground.
“Really Covyn, I’m fine,” I assured again.
“That’s not Covyn,” a small voice said and I looked over to see Daley standing twenty feet away. “That’s his wolf, Navi.”
“What?” His nose was pressing up against me, sniffing over my whole body and his warm breath tickled my skin.
“We don’t know why Navi took over. It’s really unlike Covyn to lose control, but the guys had to take off. If he feels like another male is trying to scent or harm you he will kill them without remorse.” Daley explained.
“Navi?” I asked, and the wolf’s head swung up to me.
Our eyes met and held each other, and my hands moved through the fur that I could reach on his head. He leaned into my touch and then he was almost laying on me with his head in my lap.
“What do I do?” I asked Daley, barely turning from Navi.
“He’s going to want to mate you, but don’t worry, Covyn won’t let him because you’re human and can’t shift.” Daley seemed somewhat apologetic. “Just try to understand him through the bond and listen.”
He started growling and I backed away, which only made him growl more. My anxiety was starting to build and I could feel my heart picking up speed.
“Don’t freak out,” Daley warned. “He’s shifted to protect you, that much is sure, and if you seem upset he’ll think there’s a threat.” His head moved toward her and he continued his deep sound with more annoyance. “Navi doesn’t want me around right now, I have to go, listen to your instincts.”
She waved me off but I called after her, “I don’t have any instincts!” I didn’t want to be alone with him. “Daley wait! Sshh, it’s okay Navi, I’m right here.”
His growling stopped and he surveyed the area before putting his nose back to my leg. I could feel his concern but what was I supposed to do with a concerned wolf?
He started licking my feet were the rope burns started and I wiggled against him.
“That’s ticklish,” I laughed. “Stop it, I’ll pee.”
He didn’t stop right away, licking all around them, and then pausing to look up at me.
Navi whimpered. “I don’t understand Navi, can you let Covyn come back and he can tell me what you want?”
Navi shook his big head and then laid it back down on my legs with a huff. I giggled at him and his version of pouting, which seemed to make him happier. He lifted his head and went again for my pants, gripping the fabric in his teeth and pulling. I tried to resist, holding them on and telling Navi to stop but he started growling louder now, directly at me.
“Navi I can’t lay half naked in the middle of the forest,” I begged but he was growling and drooling on me, making the pants damp under his muzzle.
One last big tug and I heard the pants tear. I gasped and looked accusingly at Navi, but he was still trying to get them all the way off.
I sighed and obliged, not seeing much sense in my crotchless sweat pants.
When I was naked from the waist down I looked at Navi. “Happy?”
He didn’t give me any reply, trying to spread my legs again and rubbing a cool nose up my leg. I shivered with the touch but tried to push that down.
No Evadiene, bad, bad, bad.
I looked at my legs too. The rope had bit in pretty good between my thighs, though it probably wouldn’t have bled if the skin wasn’t already damaged from work.
“It’s not too bad, I’ll get a first aid kit inside, be right as rain in a couple days,” I assured, but Navi has other plans.
He nudged my legs further apart, and licked one side of my thigh with his extra large tongue. I gasped in surprise and covered where my legs met with both hands as I clamped my legs back together. Navi poked my hands with his nose and I felt that cold wet appendage on both of my thighs.
“Navi, that’s sensitive,” I argued, but he growled and nipped at me. “Owe, Navi please…”
He nipped at me again and I moved my hands, uncomfortably aware of how wet I had become through my chase with Covyn. He pushed his nose between my ankles and began tracing over the red rope burns gently.
There was an almost purr coming from Navi now, it was a happy sound in the least and it relaxed me. I laid back in the nettles and dirt, looking to the stars, when I felt his tongue again.
He had placed both paws on my legs, inching closer to me on his belly. I could feel his warm breath huff over my face as he breathed in my scent.
Navi made it clear he was aiming to alternate sides, licking the skin bit by the abrasive rope, but I was also sure he knew what else he was doing. The edge of his tongue just barely grazed my middle with each pass, his long strokes wrapping under and around my leg and sliding near my lips.
The first time his tongue had passed over my clit I called out and received a look of warning, encouraging my now free hands to muffle any further outbursts. It was near impossible to stay quiet, as each time I was sure he was doing it on purpose.
Sure my legs felt better but my body was trembling worse than it had on the way down the rope. Tingly fireworks always graced my skin whenever he touched me, but the more he touched me the more I felt myself unraveling.
“Navi, please stop,” I begged, my hands reclasping over my mouth to muffle the soft whimpers that escaped.
He didn’t listen though, increasing his pace and making my legs tremble wildly. It had been a while since someone else had touched me and I wondered if Daley had known what would happen.
I looked around, praying that no one came close and begging that this wasn’t some weird thing Covyn would tease me about later. I had tried to stop him, but Navi terrified me a little more than I’d admit to him, but I’d also never admit that it added to the thrill.
As if pleased by my compliance he stopped licking the bottom half of my legs all together, focusing now on my upper thighs. I felt like a bowl of water he was drinking, after being stranded in the desert, and his whiskers tickled my skin.
I was going to fall over the edge, and when his tongue grazed against my wet opening I crashed. I bit my lips so hard I thought I might go through it, just trying to stay quiet and failing miserably.
I felt lazy and tired, so much so that I complied easily when Navi started nudging me to sit up. I sat up watching him circle me slowly, but after the third lap I was getting dizzy and focused on one tree.
The next thing I felt was both familiar and foreign as his teeth bit into the side opposite of where Covyn had, covering most of my shoulder and my neck.
“Navi!” I screamed, “let go!
He didn’t and soon the warm feeling returned. It still hurt, and I knew it would scar as he pulled his teeth free, but then he was laying behind like a big fuzzy blanket.
I untied the knot I had put in Covyn’s shirt, so it wasn’t so long, and tucked my legs up into. Navi then pulled me with his head and neck to lean back against him, and started to lick the new mark he had made.
“Navi, I’m sorry. I don’t know what I did to make you so upset, but I’ll try not to do it again.” Another whimper squirmed it’s way passed my lips as he licked the mark.
I heavily blame the alcohol for my chaotic emotions and how heavy my head felt. It felt like before, when Covyn had bit me and everything else seemed to be melting away.
I felt the form behind me shrinking, the fur being replaced with smooth hard skin, and then there were arms wrapped around me and I was being picked up.
“No Eva, it’s me who is sorry.”
