Chapter Swept Into a Fairytale Marriage 95
Chapter 95 The Secret That Night Is Revealed
Adrian sat in his chair, gazing at Farrah with a hint of curiosity, while her eyes reflected pure sincerity.
“Are you feeling down today?” she noticed.
He didn’t respond.
With a sigh, she redirected her focus and gently continued to apply the cream. “I may not be able to relieve your work stress, but I promise not to cause you any trouble. No matter how much Grandpa likes me, I’ll always stand by your side.”
Adrian’s heart remained as hard as stone, unmoved by her words. After a moment, he asked, puzzled, Why are you treating my injuries?”
Farrah didn’t pause her actions as she replied candidly, “Because I want to earn your trust and show that I genuinely care about your well–being.”

“Well, you’d better not fall in love with me,” he said in a low, deep voice. “I’m not getting a divorce, but that’s just to keep Grandpa happy. I’m willing to accept our marriage, so I don’t mind keeping you around.” Farrah smiled, hiding her disappointment. “I know you have someone else in your heart.” She continued to say, “Her name’s Sierra, right? The Enduring Moments collection is your promise to her, am I right?” Adrian’s gaze sharpened as he looked at her. “How do you know about Sierra?”
Perhaps his voice was too cold as Farrah flinched slightly, a shiver running through her.
When she met his eyes again, she saw his expression darken. In the next moment, he angrily grasped her wrist, questioning coldly, “Tell me! Did you investigate me?”
Farrah was startled by his intensity.
She held the bowl with one hand as the other grasped the spatula, but she was focused on ignoring the pain in her wrist.
Concealing her sadness, she replied calmly, “That night, you drank too much and called out Sierra’s name while you were asleep. You mistook me for her.”
Upon hearing this, Adrian’s eyes flickered. He didn’t remember that incident.
Farrah studied his expression, and in the heavy silence, she noticed the anger in him dissipate slightly as he released her wrist.
Acting as if nothing had happened, she withdrew her gaze and continued to apply the medicine with care. In this silence, Farrah felt a deep sense of sorrow.
The old burn marks on his arm were glaring, the healed skin wrinkled and even somewhat ugly. No one knew about his injury, not even Philip.
“So, are you taking me on the business trip tomorrow?” she asked calmly, wanting to make preparations if he planned on taking her with him.
Adrian didn’t dare defy Philip’s wishes, but he wasn’t keen on taking her along. “You should stay in a hotel tomorrow night. Don’t come home.”
It was because Philip had installed surveillance at home.
“Understood.” Farrah nodded, not feeling upset. They had no emotional connection, after all. “You should get some rest. I’ll go take a shower.”

After she got out of the shower, Farrah noticed an important message in their work group.
It informed everyone that they were no longer required to work in the office. They could seek inspiration elsewhere or work from home, so long as they handed in their work in ten days. They were only required to check in at the office twice a week.
This first round of evaluations would happen in about ten days.
Farrah was thrilled. With all the recent rainy days, she could go out and look for more spider webs and immerse herself in nature, discovering its beauty. It would spark her creativity.
Adrian hadn’t eaten dinner. He had been waiting at home for her. Thinking she had intentionally discarded the wedding ring, he had been brooding for a long time.
He disliked feeling abandoned.
Farrah hadn’t eaten either. She had been searching for the ring all day and was now feeling dizzy. Her eyes were weary from it all.
She was really hungry, so she decided to make ravioli.
She walked to the doorway and asked, “Adrian, do you want ravioli?”
Her tone was calm, showing no signs of anger as if she had forgiven him for his attitude tonight.
Adrian turned to look at her but didn’t answer.
After a moment, she turned around and walked into the kitchen.
In the master bedroom, Adrian sat in the armchair by the window, where the rain continued to patter softly against the glass. His mood was indeed foul today.
Yet he realized he shouldn’t take his anger out on her.
Had he really called her Sierra after drinking?
After all this time, had she shown no reaction? How big could her heart be to remain so unaffected even after knowing she was a substitute?
It seemed her inner strength was not to be underestimated. Adrian’s gaze darkened as this situation left him feeling unsettled.
