Chapter 686 Leave Him
Although Joseph was close to being devoured by desire, he was still aware that if he did something now, Daisy would leave him. Once she left, she would never come back.
With this thought, Joseph used his remaining strength to push Fannie away. "Get out!"
Knowing that the drug had already taken effect on him, how could Fannie leave? It would be a waste if she didn't go on with her plan.
A famous playboy like Joseph was always surrounded by a lot of women, and scandals about him had never stopped.
Why was he pretending to be abstinent now?
Therefore, Fannie came up to him again.
As much as Joseph wanted to leave, he was too weak to do so. So he just struggled to get away from Fannie. "Fannie, hold on for a moment. I just have to make a phone call, and then I will spend the night with you."
To his delight, Fannie was stupid enough to easily believe his lies.
As a matter of fact, she had always been a fool who believed in men's sweet words. That was why she believed whatever Caspar said before.
Now, she made the same mistake by trusting Joseph without noticing the look on his face.
She was lying on the bed, waiting for him to be done with the call.
It didn't even occur to her that he was going to call the police station.
It was just a quick call, so Joseph directly told the police that he was being harassed by a woman in the hotel.
Before the dinner party downstairs was over, several policemen rushed in. It had only been five minutes after Joseph called, and the police were quick to take action. "What happened?"
"I don't know. Did someone commit a crime?"
"It is impossible. Who can commit a crime in such an occasion?"
Everyone was confused. They came up with different speculations in their minds.
The police went upstairs and found the room which Joseph told them.
Clueless about what was about to happen, Fannie was still dreaming about her future in a daze.
So when the doorbell suddenly rang, she was shocked.
"Joseph, who is it?"
Instead of answering her, Joseph sneered and struggled to open the door.
"Sir, it's her. Please send me to the hospital as soon as possible. I can't hold on any longer." The police could tell that Joseph wasn't lying, based on the look on his face and his wet clothes. The fire in his heart was getting stronger and stronger, and he might be devoured at any time.
If the police came a few minutes later, he couldn't guarantee that he would've refrained himself from making a mistake.
Now, he just wanted to see Daisy.
It was only because he didn't want Daisy to hate him more that he was trying his best to be sane.
Joseph wanted to say something more, but he blacked out.
On the other hand, shock was written all over Fannie's face.
"Sir, I didn't do anything. I'm just a fan of Joseph. Please don't come closer. I'm not dressed yet!" Fannie clutched the quilt tightly and shouted hysterically.
"Nothing? But what are you doing now? Did Mr. Fu take off your clothes?" The policeman looked at Fannie with doubtful eyes.
"I...No, he was drunk!" Fannie faltered.
"Mr. Fu will be taken to the hospital, and we will take you to the police station for an interrogation." The policeman threw Fannie's clothes over her in disgust. "Put on your clothes quickly, or you will have to go downstairs naked. We don't care whether you are afraid of losing face or not."
Upon realizing the gravity of the situation, Fannie decided to put on an act. "Hey, I'm drunk. Why am I here? Sir, please send me home. I'm really drunk!" It would be so embarrassing to go to jail like this. She couldn't allow people see her in this situation!
Therefore, she had no other choice but to pretend to be drunk.
But the policeman only watched her performance calmly.
Seeing that she couldn't delay any longer, Fannie picked up her clothes and began to put them on. "I'm a woman and you're just watching me to dress up.
Humph, Joseph is a man, while I'm a woman. I am the victim here. How dare you make trouble for me? I think you're bullying innocent people!"
"Fannie, are you innocent? If you really are, then why are you here? How can you drug Mr. Fu if you are innocent? Could an innocent woman do such a dirty thing?" the policeman asked disdainfully. "I...I... I didn't drug him. I'm drunk. Joseph is drunk too. You bad guys..." Fannie began to make a scene.
When the policeman saw that Fannie was almost dressed, he ordered the other two policemen to come over and take Fannie off the bed. "Take her away!"
Struggling to get away from the men's grip, Fannie shouted, "Let go of me. I can walk by myself!"
The policemen let go of her arms and stood beside her.
"You are bullying me. My sister and my brother-in-law will definitely hear about this. Just wait and see. Humph, take the consequences!" She was shameless to put an act and rely on Nancy and Charles even at this point.
The policeman sneered and said slowly, "Joseph is Charles' cousin. Charles is supposed to be closer to him than to you, right?"
Unwilling to give up, Fannie replied, "Nancy and I are sisters. Charles and Joseph are just cousins. Which relationship do you think is closer?"
"Fannie, how can you not be ashamed at all after what you've done? Now even your parents want to make a clean break with you. Don't think too much. Just follow us back to the police station and explain everything to us, okay?"
After a while, Fannie realized that she was already cornered, so she sighed. "I have nothing else to say." "Well, you don't have to tell me anything else. Just tell me how got into this room and how you took off your
clothes. Let's go!" The policeman pushed Fannie.
"Don't touch me. I said I can walk by myself!" Fannie muttered and walked downstairs slowly.
The visitors didn't leave even after the police came.
Everyone waited downstairs to see what was going on. They were talking and drinking when the police suddenly broke in and soon carried Joseph away. Everyone was confused and wondered why he was carried out not long after they went upstairs.
Was it because of some acute medical conditions?
Everyone looked up at the stairs, waiting for Fannie.
Especially the journalists, who were all so excited that their faces turned red. This emergency would surely be the headline for tomorrow.
Sure enough, they all began to whisper as soon as they saw Fannie in a mess.
They witnessed how Fannie went down with the police by her side.
The reporters kept taking photos of her.
"Why are you taking photos of me? Don't do that! I just wanted to sleep for a while. I didn't know what happened. These policemen just broke into the hotel room and woke me up. I won't let it go like this. I want them to give me an explanation!" As arrogant as she had always been, Fannie kept yelling at the crowd, stopping the reporters from taking pictures of her.
"Miss Ning, why would the police wake you up abruptly?"
"Yes, yes. There are a lot of people sleeping in this hotel. Why did the police wake you up instead of others?"
