Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love

Chapter 679 The Great Doctor

Little did Charles know, the kids didn't go to their classroom after he left them at the kindergarten.

Instead, they sneaked out to see Brandy.

After their last experience, they had learned that they couldn't run wild, so they took a taxi directly to the municipal hospital to see the woman who seemed to be the problem in their parents' relationship.

As usual Nancy went to Nana's room to check how she was doing. To her delight, the former seemed to be getting better now than she was before. Sometimes she was sober and sometimes she was still confused, but Nancy had seen great improvements.

The nurse said that when Nana was sober, she would be silent, and when she was not, she would talk nonsense.

Nana was asleep when Nancy came to her room, so she didn't disturb her anymore.

In the end, Nancy just went to check the wards. Since the New Year was coming and no new patients were coming, her work was much easier. Therefore, when she was done making rounds, she went back to her office.

Like what Brandy said, Charles had arranged a newly built office for her, so Nancy stayed alone in her old office.

Their offices were quite far from one another, so they didn't always bump into each other, which was a good thing for Nancy.

From time to time, the medical staff would still ask for Nancy's opinion, but Nancy would ask them to see Brandy out of politeness.

Everyone would just say the same thing, "We're used to it." Then they would smile.

Fortunately, Brandy didn't seem offended by these. In fact, she only smiled like it wasn't a big deal at all.

"Director Nancy, I've seen how bad Anna is. Now I'm a little scared of every doctor in our department, especially Director Brandy," Erin whispered.

"Why are you so afraid of her? She won't eat you, Erin. Just focus on your work," said Nancy half-jokingly.

"She just came here, and yet she was appointed as a director right away. It's outrageous! All of us couldn't accept it. Director Nancy, in our hearts, only you are our director. We don't understand what Mr. Fu is thinking. Why did he bring Brandy here all of a sudden?" Recently, the people in the pediatric department had been discussing whether Brandy and Charles had an affair, but Nancy wasn't saying anything to confirm or deny it, so they could only guess randomly.

That was why Erin couldn't help but be worried about her.

However, Nancy was not the type of person who wanted to talk about personal affairs so she just patted Erin's shoulder. "Well, it's none of your business. You just need to do your job well. As for other things, just ignore them."

"Okay... I am just..." It seemed that Erin still wanted to say something, so Nancy quickly interrupted her.

Even if she didn't say it, Nancy knew exactly what Erin wanted to ask.

But what could she tell her if she didn't even know what was going on with her relationship with Charles?

"Erin, I just told you to focus on your job. Don't worry about anything else, let alone talk about it!" There was a faint hint of displeasure in Nancy's voice, which made Erin lower her head. "Okay." In a hurry, Erin walked out the room.

As soon as the door closed, Nancy leaned against her desk and thought for a while. Then she straightened up and took out her phone to call Rick.

"Hi, Nancy." Judging from the tone of his voice, it seemed like Rick was not affected by the dismissal.

Well, a doctor as professional as Rick would get a good position wherever he went.

Finding a job wouldn't be a big problem.

Even so, Nancy still felt guilty for what happened. "I'm sorry, Rick." If it weren't for her, Rick would still be working in his hospital. But Charles had misunderstood him after he helped Nancy out. "What are you talking about, Nancy? Do I need to worry about having no work to do?" It could be told that Rick was smiling on the other line even if Nancy couldn't see his face. He sounded lively, which was somehow a relief for her.

On the other hand, it made her feel guiltier. "I will talk to Charles later and ask him not to be against you anymore. It's him..."

"I know, but you really don't have to feel sorry for me. Oh, by the way, I want to tell you a good news. I don't want to work for others anymore. I want to open my own clinic. Will you support me?"

"A clinic?" To say that Nancy was shocked to hear this was an understatement. "You are a great doctor. How can you open a clinic? Isn't it too humiliating?"

As a top-rated doctor, Rick should be in bigger hospitals, because only then he would be exposed to various cases.

Doctors never stopped studying for their whole lives, so naturally, Nancy didn't want Rick to leave the platform that could improve his skill.

"Nancy, you are wrong. I have thoroughly studied about mental disorders. If I open a clinic by myself, I will not be bound and can realize my life value more. You will know it on the first day of the treatment. Do you want to come or not?" It wouldn't be easy for him to start from scratch, but Rick was really excited to see the outcome.

"I will, but... Have you really made up your mind?" At this moment, Nancy felt her heart being squeezed.

It felt like she ruined the career of a great doctor. "Yes. Trust me. It's a right decision!"

"Okay, I wish you success!"

"Thank you."

The conversation had already ended, but Nancy still had a heavy heart. She really felt sorry for Rick.

Immersed with her thoughts, Nancy didn't immediately notice Brandy who entered her office. "Director Nancy, we have prepared the operation for the patient who just arrived today. Please, help me." "Oh, okay. But Director Brandy, I'm just an ordinary doctor. So you can call me Nancy from now on."

With a smile, Brandy playfully raised her eyebrows. "Okay, then please cooperate with me, Nancy. We have to finish the operation together today. What do you think?"

Hearing this, Nancy also smiled. "Okay, I'm going to change my clothes now."

After changing her clothes, Nancy went straight to the operating room and waited for Brandy there.

Minutes had passed but Brandy still didn't come, so Nancy began to worry. After all, the patient had been anesthetized and couldn't wait any longer, not to mention the patient was a child. Once it subsided, then the child needed to be re-anesthetized.

Therefore, when Brandy still didn't come, she had no choice but to perform the surgery alone.

As soon as she was done, she went out of the operating room to ask where Brandy was.

"Where is Director Brandy?" It was her who received the patient; why didn't she come in to help?

If she couldn't come for the operation, she should have told Nancy. What did Brandy mean by going missing without saying a word?

"I saw Director Brandy had already changed into sterile clothes. I just don't know why she didn't come." The assistant was also confused.

For a moment, Nancy thought about where Brandy could possibly be at. "Haven't you looked for her?"

"Yes, I did," one of the doctors replied.

In the end, Nancy just chose to be silent. After all, she didn't know Brandy very well. She didn't know what kind of woman she was.

It was true that Brandy was indeed ready for the operation, but just as when she was about to enter the operating room, a child suddenly ran over.

"Auntie, doctor, my brother is sick! It's very serious. Please check on him." The girl, who turned out to be Nadia, almost burst into tears.

Instinctively, Brandy looked for the sick child. "Your brother? Where is he?"

Pointing at the door, Nadia cried out, "Over there, over there..."

That was how Brandy fell into the children's trap.

When they came to a secluded staircase, they saw a little boy curling up on the ground and constantly twitching.

To be able to meet Brandy, Bobby came up with such a bad idea of injuring himself.

Their plan should work, or else, his efforts would go to waste.

Looking at how he twitched and rolled his eyes, Brandy asked, "Does he have epilepsy?"

"No." The tears on Nadia's face were gone.

"What did he eat this morning?" Brandy asked again.

"Nothing," Nadia replied.
