Chapter 931
Chapter 931
"Oh, really? I haven't noticed." He struggled to maintain a calm facade.
Violet retorted with a touch of annoyance. "Of course, you haven't!"
"When was the last time you dug out those childhood photos I look of you and looked at them?
"I bet you don't even remember what you looked like as a child."
This was actually true.
Violet remembered something else and asked, "Oh, by the way, is Lari coming over later?"
"She probably won't. How about you give her a call?" He lowered his head in thought before looking up with a mischievous glint in his
eyes.
Violet knew exactly what her son was thinking, having carried him for nine months.
Since she had been missing seeing Larissa around, she might as well play along with his plan.
"Let's wait until tonight. She's probably working right now," she suggested.
However, Violet's guess was incorrect.
Once the driver had dropped off Larissa and Lewis at the hotel he left them with some parting words, "Mr. Ackley mentioned that the two of you should have some rest. "Business matters can wait until you've both had a chance to recuperate tomorrow."
Indeed, long-haul flights could be quite exhausting.
As a result. Lewis didn't decline their host's thoughtful suggestion.
The two of them had lunch at the hotel's restaurant
Then, they made their way back to their respective rooms.
After taking a refreshing shower, Larissa sat on the bed and decided to give Kevan a call..
"Hey?" Kevan's alluring voice came through the phone. "Finished with work?"
"No client meetings today," she replied lazily as she leaned back.
She had been about to ask about Aster but suddenly remembered how Kevan had gotten upset the last time she neglected him.
With a slight hesitation, she asked. "Are things going well at home?"
Her question came out a bit awkward.
But Kevan, ever perceptive, immediately noticed.
He couldn't help but chuckle, opting not to call out her clumsy concem.
"I'm doing just fine," he assured her, then offered an olive branch. "Would you like to talk to Aster?"
She gripped her phone, tom internally.
Would agreeing too quickly make her seem overly eager?
On the other hand, it she continued to be standoffish, there wouldn't be much left to say.
After a long moment of contemplation, she replied, "No, it's alright"
He raised an eyebrow but refrained from speaking immediately.
"How's Aster getting along with your parents? She sounded somewhat apprehensive.
"Really?" She was concerned that he might be trying to comfort her with falsehoods, so she remained guarded.
"Absolutely. My dad even showed Aster his prized pet crickets-something he's never even shown me." Kevan's tone carried a hint of amusement
"Phew." She let out a sigh of relief.
Thank goodness.
"So have you told them about Aster being your biological son?"
"Not yet." Kevan's voice took on a more serious tone. "It's not the right time. We'll wait until Cody-"
He abruptly stopped, but she immediately understood his meaning.
"Yeah." She concurred with his approach.
"By the way, my parents are totally fine with it." Kevan resumed in a more relaxed tone. "Right now, my mom's biggest concem is whether you'll join us for dinner."
