Submitting To My Ex-Wife by Veromca Luke (Sigmund Moolery )

Chapter 5

Chapter

Brigham angrily reprimanded. “Do you still have any humanity left? You dare to do it, yet you do not take responsibility for the consequences of your actions. What kind of a man are you?”

Brigham deliberately locked the door earlier so that Sigmund could explain things properly to Becky. However, he did not expect Sigmund to kick the door open and leave..

When the commotion arose subsequently, Sigmund had already left the house with Becky.

Brigham arrived right after Sigmund and Becky left. He could only turn on the lights and wait until they returned home. They were now finally back. When Brigham saw Becky’s pale face, his anger was even more difficult to restrain.

“Feel free to say whatever you want,” Sigmund said. He maintained a determined look without

As Brigham saw Sigmund’s look, he got even more furious, so much so that he almost lost control of his cane. “You piece of shit!” he exclaimed in anger.

In the face of the confrontational scene between Brigham and Sigmund, Becky stopped in her

tracks.

When Sigmund saw Becky staring at him, he turned around, wanting to leave.

Becky walked up to Brigham and explained softly. “Brigham, it’s my stomach disease acting up,” she said. “Sigmund took me to the hospital.”

Upon hearing her explanation, Brigham abruptly thumped his cane again. He said, “Come back!”

Brigham spoke as he looked in the direction where Sigmund was leaving.

However, Sigmund ignored Brigham and continued walking.

Brigham had no choice but to order the household staff to seal off the house, preventing Sigmund. from leaving on his own again.

“It’s all because I didn’t thoroughly think things through today,” Brigham said ås he looked at her with a guilty expression, his tone softening.

“No, it’s got nothing to do with you,” Becky said. “It’s because I didn’t consider my health condition.” Becky slowly revealed a faint smile, trying to put Brigham at ease. “Look, I’m fine now, right?”

Sigmund noticed Becky’s smile and interpreted it as it was without misinterpretation.  Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the FindNʘᴠᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

He walked toward the exact spot that he had just left. When he saw Becky behaving obsequiously toward Brigham, he sneered inwardly.

When Becky turned her head to look, he had already turned around and left once again.

Following the previous night’s events, Becky woke up later than usual. When she opened her eyes, it was midmorning.

She first looked to her side. Indeed, it was empty.

If it weren’t for the faint scent of tobacco lingering in the air, perhaps there would be no trace of Sigmund’s presence at all.

Becky got up. Upon freshening up, she sent Sigmund a message.

[Let’s go and handle the divorce procedures later.]

Even though she had missed breakfast, it happened to be lunchtime now.

When Brigham saw her, he instructed servants to set up the dining table and invited her to come and have a meal

It was initially a sunny day with a clear view after Becky finished her lunch.

The weather, however, changed suddenly. The sky was covered with dark clouds. Pitter–patter could be heard. It started to drizzle continuously.

Sigmund returned home. When he saw Becky, his expression returned to his previous cold expression.

It was as if the previous night’s warmth would not reappear.

When Brigham saw Sigmund taking Becky out, he thought they were going on a date. He cheered up a little.

Throughout the journey, the two of them remained silent.

As Becky looked at the long line of people waiting to get a divorce, she thought of the moment they married.

At that time, even when they went to the city hall to take wedding photos, the printed wedding photos showed them standing apart. They were like two strangers who did not know each other.

Now that they were getting a divorce, it could be said that they were liberated.

Naturally, Sigmund did not have to wait in line. He took Becky in and proceeded with the divorce registration.

A one–month cooling–off period was required before they obtained the divorce certificate.

“I’ve got some matters to attend to,” Sigmund said. “You may go back by yourself.”

After handling the divorce procedures, Sigmund finally made eye contact with Becky, giving her an indifferent look. He then drove away with an air of self–importance.

The location of the city hall was relatively remote from the downtown area.

It was raining heavily now, yet he just left her like that and did not care. Becky curled her lip, showing no expression.

She had long stopped having feelings for him.

She squatted down slightly, feeling her stomach churn and a warm sensation in her thro

Enduring the discomfort, she hailed a cab and headed to her college.

As Sigmund looked at the heavy rain outside the window, with occasional lightning flashing across the sky, he gripped the steering wheel tightly. He felt that inexplicable sense of fluster again.

He parked the car on the roadside and took out a cigarette to light it.

The smoke rings dispersed in the cold air.

He stubbed out the cigarette. Then, he turned on the ignition and drove in the direction he initially came from.

Becky had taken a taxi and arrived at her college. She had endured the discomfort throughout the journey. Upon arriving, she looked for a restroom. Then, she pinched her throat and vomited.

A sense of weakness overwhelmed her entire body, but she forced herself to stand up.

She had made an appointment with her teacher earlier to discuss matters regarding the internship for her senior year.

Upon seeing Becky, the teacher’s face lit up with excitement, She said, “Hey, Becky. You’re finally

here.

“I showed your work to a friend of mine the other day, and he recommended you an internship in his company.” The teacher then quickly unlocked her phone to show Becky the proof. She assured Becky that her friend was a well–known jewelry designer with numerous connections and work opportunities in the industry. Any internships recommended by this friend of hers would definitely carry great prestige.

Becky was currently an undergraduate student who had not graduated yet. Being able to learn from that well–known jewelry designer was something that others could only dream of.”

“Take this,” the teacher said, handing Becky a business card. “Just go there directly tomorrow.”

Upon receiving it, Becky took a look at the name on the card. It was Rocky Bradley, a name everyone in the jewelry design industry knew.

Such an opportunity was hard to come by. Becky could not possibly turn it down.

“Okay,” Becky said. “Thank you, Miss.” Becky kept the business card and sincerely thanked her

teacher.

After chatting for a few moments, Becky bid her teacher goodbye.

While walking out of her teacher’s office, she recalled that she had previously arranged with her best friend, Salena Bush, to meet up for a meal after her own wedding was wrapped up.

Becky arrived at the place they had arranged to meet. She was a little early, so she ordered the food before Salena arrived.

Salena arrived in a hurry. Upon seeing Becky, she could not contain her anger. She immediately eat here now?” said, “How can you still have the mood to

They were in a private room. Even though Salena’s voice was piercing, the soundproofing was good. Hence, her voice was not transmitted outside.

Compared to the fierce Salena, Becky appeared relatively calm. She said, “What else can be done?”

Becky pointed at the seat, motioning Salena to sit before talking.

Seeing her powerless and yielding posture, Salena was even more infuriated. She immediately slammed her phone on the table.

“Do you know that you have become the laughingstock of the whole world?” Salena said.

On the phone screen, the ruthless ridicule of people from diverse backgrounds suddenly appeared on Facebook.

A photo of the wedding scene from yesterday was even posted. The caption of the photo was “Beauty and the Dog.”

There were many teasing replies below the photo. Quite a few men even commented that they were willing to take over if the groom did not want to marry the girl.

There were also many explicit comments which stated that she would sleep with the dog on her wedding night. Other indecent remarks were too inappropriate to mention.

Salena was furious as she read these comments.

Not only that, chat groups were also bombarded with messages as well.

Unexpectedly, Becky looked away upon glancing at it indifferently.

There was no change in her facial expression. It was as if she had just read a weather forecast report, feeling neither sad nor happy.

“Is there more?” Becky asked.

Salena shook her head as she saw Becky remaining indifferent. She then opened her WhatsApp

group

However, when Becky saw the chat messages in the group, her calm eyes showed a momentary ripple of emotion.
