Chapter 586
"If he got into showbiz, he'd be the hottest star around. Have you seen him online?"
"Ha, no, I just think he's super handsome, he'd definitely make it big if he became an actor."
"Yeah, he could surely live a good life just on his looks, but he chose to rely on his intelligence instead. I have no idea what he's thinking. Seb, how 'bout you quit your job and come act with me?" Stephanie teased, winking at Sebastian.
Sebastian raised an eyebrow and responded, "No way."
"Ha, well, if you don't want to, never mind then."
As Zandra watched their easy banter, she bit her lip and asked, "Steph, have you met any celebs while on set?"
"Sure, have you known Dashiell?"
"The best actor?"
"Yeah, that one!"
"You've met him?"
"Yeah, we even had drinks together."
Zandra looked at her in disbelief. Stephanie was such a blowhard.
Chuckling, Zandra said, "Wow, you're something; you've had drinks with Dashiell."
"And there's the newbie, Nicholas, Derek, we've all been in a movie together."
"Nicholas and Derek were in the same film as you?"
"Yeah! Nicholas was the lead; Derek and I played supporting roles. We're all tight."
"Wow, you've really made it!"
"Steph, your grandparents are looking for you!" Zola suddenly announced from the doorway.
Stephanie glanced at the door, then asked Sebastian, "Will you come with me?"
Without hesitation, Sebastian stood up and replied, "Sure."
Zandra's face fell a bit at this, and she said lightly, "Steph, your grandparents probably want to talk about something. It's not really appropriate for Mr. Ingram to join, right?"
With a hint of exasperation, Stephanie responded, "What's inappropriate about it? He is my fiancé; what's the problem with introducing him to them?"
Stephanie knew that Seb would never be interested in Zandra, but she was worried that Zandra might make him uncomfortable.
Since she had brought him home, she had to take responsibility for him.
With that, she took Sebastian's hand and left the room.
Zandra stood in the room, fuming.
Zola frowned, stating, "Stephanie is really playing it safe, huh!"
Aggravated, Zandra said, "Let's go see what's going on."
When Stephanie got to the living room, she saw Sammy Bishop kneeling on the floor, his eyes red.
Patty and Marilyn's sister were crying off to the side.
Stephanie's grandparents sat in the front, looking stern.
"Marilyn, because of your illness, the family has been in chaos. Don't blame us for not helping you before, life has been too hard. Your dad and I we're both dependent on Sammy Bishop. Your sister occasionally gives us some money too.
They all have their own families, their own children to take care of. Your father and I have made a decision about this; let's make peace. Let's leave the past in the
past and not bring it net
anymore.
We are a family, you are all siblings by blood, even if there are disagreements, we can reconcile. Sammy Bishop was raised by you and your sister. Even though you were the second child, you've always been our favorite. Back then, your sister gave up the chance to go to high school just so you could learn about finance and work at a big corporation. She even helped you with school for a few years. In the end, you never married because of Steph. Even though you didn't give much money to your father and I, we won't hold it against you.
You've gotten seriously ill, and we can't help you. So let's reconcile, and let's not hold grudges anymore."
