Chapter 36 –
(Jamie)
I looked at my reflection in the mirror one last time before fixing my bow tie..everything had to be perfect..it had to be for her.
"You made sure the security detail is keeping an eye on the Kensingtons correct?" I asked Ray one more time while glancing towards the door where he was standing.
I trust Ray more than anyone to watch over Gabriella and decided to put him in charge of security for this evening. He is more than qualified and actually hired all of the people working tonight personally. "Yes sir, we have eyes and ears on them now. Everyone has just been instructed to take their seats." He explained, making me nod once. "Good."
"Son, relax..everything will go flawlessly." My dad chimed in happily before placing his hand on my shoulder, causing me to tense even more.
He had just come in to check on me as Rylan and Nolan finished getting ready.
We wanted to keep a close eye on Nolan, considering Cecelia is here..but hopefully she took my warning seriously.
"You sure you don't want some of this dude? You look like you could use it." Rylan smirked before pulling out a flask and taking a sip.
"No, and you are cut off too for now..the last thing I need is you getting wasted." I grumbled, snapping my eyes towards Ray, making him swiftly walk over and snatch the flask from Rylan. "Hey..what the hell..and here I thought Gabriella was supposed to be the bridezilla." Rylan grumbled and I gave him the death stare, shutting him up immediately.
I hadn't seen Gabriella all day...my mom and Jolie whisked her off this morning for some type of spa day and then she had to get ready...I was about to have a fucking mental breakdown. What if she changed her mind? Could she be having second thoughts?
Those worries came rushing through me as I cleared my throat before turning and looking in the mirror once more and began fixing my hair..
That's when I heard the knock...
My heart stopped as the door slowly opened.
"Mr. Sinclair, we are ready to begin." Rebecca, the wedding planner I hired informed me.
"Okay, this is it!" Rylan stated excitedly.
"Last chance to cancel." Nolan mumbled and before I could even react, Rylan smacked him on the back of the head and began ushering him out. "Don't be a fucking asshole. Now go sit with mom.." He ordered him as I let out a deep breath.
This was it..after today, Gabriella will be mine.
I stepped out of the large room I was in and headed down the hallway to where the ceremony would be held.
We rented out an entire hotel..making sure our guests had accommodations and the place was well-staffed and suited for the big day..Dad insisted..
I know this meant something else to my father and John..this was the final piece to their companies joining together..but to me..this was the most important day of my life..
I was marrying my dream girl..the woman who had to be made just for me I swear..
I headed to where the ceremony would be held as I looked throughout the room. There were huge floral arches in every doorway, decorated with white and light blue flowers. The colors reminded me of Gabriella as silk fabrics hung down the walls. The place looked elegant and feminine..it was perfect.
Rebecca really captured my vision..I thought of Gabriella when I described it..I hope she loves it.
I watched as Nolan took his mother's arm and began escorting her down the aisle..and that's when I saw my mom.
She had on a soft blue long-sleeved dress, her hair was curled and she looked beautiful.
"Mom, you look lovely." I said to her as tears began to fill her eyes..
"Oh Jamie..look at you..my handsome boy. Wait until you see her..I have already cried about ten times." She laughed before wiping away another tear.
So Gabriella must be in her dress then..that's a good sign.
"Jamie, you may escort your mother now." Rebecca stated while popping out of nowhere as soft instrumental music began to play.
I nodded once while taking my mother's arm, her eyes gazing up at me as I looked straight ahead..feeling like I might just puke.
Honestly, I usually excel under this type of pressure..that's why I do so well at my job..but today, yeah, I was a mess.
I walked my mother down the aisle, my eyes not wandering from the alter as I knew there had to be at least two hundred people here if not more..I lost track after my dad kept adding last-minute requests.
Let's just say we have security at every damn door..I won't let anything ruin this.
After getting to the front of the altar, I noticed my father already sitting beside a few distant family members whom I had only met a few times.
Then I helped my mom sit down before kissing her on the cheek.
That's when I turned, seeing the Kensington's sitting on the other side.
None of them looked me in the eye, intentionally ignoring me as they chatted amongst themselves.
Cecelia actually looked scared which made me happy..that means she took my threat seriously.
Grandma Georgia just stuck her nose in the air and scoffed..what a lovely woman she is..at least Gabriella is out of their clutches now.
I took my place at the altar when things began to quiet down and Rylan joined me.
"Almost show time." He whispered while slapping my back as I just stared at those white doors...waiting for my beautiful bride to walk through them.. Then another thirty minutes passed, and I started to get worried..
I glanced towards my mom who mouthed "Stay Calm" to me as I heard Regina chuckle softly..then I felt like something was up.
I was about to walk back down that aisle when Rebecca popped her head through the door, giving me a thumbs up as the music started to play..
That's when I saw Regina scowl and shift in her chair..letting me know that whatever the fuck was keeping Gabriella, was probably her doing.
Then the doors opened quickly as Jolie made her way down the aisle, wearing a soft blue dress as she looked up at me briefly before darting her eyes away. Instead, she focused on her brother while taking her spot on the other side of the altar. "Here she comes." Rylan whispered hastily just as the doors opened and then I saw her...
Holy fucking shit.
I felt my eyes widen, the sight of Gabriella almost bringing me to my damn knees as I saw her gorgeous dress for the first time.
The top was made with see-through fabric and had beautiful designs trailing past her shoulders and down her arms.
Then the white bodice hugged her body perfectly before flaring out at her curvy hips. She wore a matching veil that reached the floor, creating a train behind her.
Her long black hair was up in a neat bun with beautiful pearl and diamond pins placed perfectly throughout, showing off her gorgeous neck.
She was breathtaking.
Everyone in the room stood as a collective gasp seemed to escape them..yes..she was my bride..all fucking mine.
I locked my eyes on Gabriella's piercing blue ones, my heart hammering as she smiled softly, making my chest tighten as I felt tears spring to my eyes.
I didn't think I would be this emotional..she was perfect..absolutely perfect.
"Fuck dude..she looks stunning." Rylan whispered to me and I just nodded in agreement..I couldn't even be mad..what Rylan said was 100% true.
Her dad slowly walked her down the aisle as I began to grow impatient..I wanted her by my side now..
I shifted on my feet as he finally came closer, his eyes meeting mine before glancing back to Gabriella and kissing her on the cheek.
"I love you Bunny." He whispered and then turned to shake my hand.
"Jamie, take good care of her." He said to me softly as I nodded my head.
"I will John, for the rest of my life...I swear." I promised, shaking his hand firmly before letting go and watching him step back.
Then he placed Gabriella's small hand in mine, and I felt my body jolt with electricity as my heart pounded in my chest.
She stepped forward, her eyes peering up into mine as I squeezed her hand tightly.
"You look absolutely breathtaking." I breathed, feeling nervous for some reason as my stomach flipped uncontrollably.
Gabriella bit her pink lips softly while stepping closer to me and placing her hand on my chest, feeling the lapel of my jacket beneath her fingertips.
I know that was her way of admiring me and that was all I needed..just her here with me was more than enough..it was always enough since the moment I met her. "Shall we begin?" The officiant asked as both Gabriella and I nodded our heads in unison.
I'm ready..I'm ready to make her my wife.
