Chapter Unpleasant Surprise
Timber continued nibbling, licking, and kissing at my neck. I realized that whether or not I was going to stay could be decided later. It was not as though he were asking for an answer right now. Based on the clear bulge straining against the inside of his swim trunks, he was not focused on my decision, at the moment.
I could feel the heat in my core beginning to rise as my desire grew. This wolf certainly knew what he was doing. I would not allow myself to take things too far, as I felt some strange sense of loyalty towards Enzo. However, a little fun between unmated wolves never hurt anyone.
So I placed my hands on Timber’s chest and began walking him backwards across the deck. I knew that there was some seating towards that end of the boat and I figured that we would enjoy ourselves more if we were not standing.
I pushed him backwards onto the seat and then climbed on top of his lap, straddling him. He placed his hands on my ass and I could feel his fingers digging in as I began to grind my center against the hard, stiff rod in his shorts. He groaned in pleasure against my lips as they claimed his.
His hands roamed across my body, squeezing at my breasts and guiding me along his shaft as we dry humped each other. The thin fabric of our swimming suits being the only thing between us. He tried many times to put his hands underneath the cloth that made up my bikini, attempting to touch my most sacred spaces. Yet, my instinct kept reacting to his advances, slapping his hands away each time he tried to venture too far.
There was something innate inside of me that would not allow me to betray Enzo in that way. Despite the fact that I told myself that I did not care, the truth was that I did. I was not willing to do anything that could potentially destroy any chances of fixing things with my destined mate. Though he did not want me, there was some sad, sick, little part of me that still hoped there was a chance.
So, despite several hours, out on the open ocean, caught in the torrent of a heavy make out session. Groping, dry humping, grinding, and teasing; our clothing always remained a barrier between us. Never once did I allow for us to take it any further than that. Even though my body begged for me to do so under Timber’s expert touch.
We finally headed back into land after Tyrus began complaining of hunger. Timber had invited me to join him for a private dinner and I had agreed. I was nervous about being alone with him, uncertain if I had the self-control required. But I could not deny myself the opportunity to get to spend more time with him. If Enzo did not want me, then I needed to keep all of my options open.
The boat had not even pulled into the dock, when I could hear a loud, frustrated, growling coming from near the marina. I could not help but wonder who it was that was making such a noise, it sounded both angry and sad. I could not help but feel pity for the creature that created it.
“MARVEL!!!!” A familiar voice roared.
I looked over just in time to see Enzo jumping from one of the nearby docks, clearing the water with ease, landing with a thud on the bow of Timber’s boat. He was tense and his breathing was heavy. His eyes were narrowed in anger as they searched for me, his jaw clenched.
“Enzo?” I questioned, barely breathing out the word.
To say that I was shocked to see him would have been an understatement.
“Marvel.” He growled, his gaze falling on me.
He stalked towards me and pulled me close the moment that I was within his grasp. He tossed a hateful glare in Timber’s direction before he turned back to me. He buried his head into the crook of my neck and then took in a deep breath, trying to calm his wolf. Unfortunately, this had the opposite effect as the scent of Timber was all over my body.
For this reason, the next thing that I knew, Enzo was jumping from the boat, with me wrapped in his arms, plunging into the cold ocean waters. He began rubbing his rough hands over my body attempting to exfoliate the smell of another male off me.
“Enzo, what are you doing?!” I shrieked in surprise.
“Mine.” Was all that he managed to grumble.
I had never been more frustrated in my life. He had left me unclaimed for months and now he was suddenly bothered by this situation. Traveling for hours to track me down. If he had wanted me so badly, then why had he not done something about it months ago? How had he even known what was happening? What was he doing here?
Once he felt that I was free enough of Timber’s scent, he carried me back to the beach. His face buried into my neck the entire time, as he took in deep breaths.
“Marvel, are you alright?” Aida shrieked as she came running towards us.
“I’m fine.” I sighed, motioning to Enzo with a confused shrug.
“I’m not sure that you are.” Tyrus stated with a chuckle. “Seems like you picked up a barnacle.” He joked, referring to Enzo whose face was still preoccupied with smelling the crook of my neck.
He had not even bothered to acknowledge anyone else.
“Speaking of that, what are you even doing here, Enzo?” Aida questioned.
“Tyrus called me.” Enzo grumbled, into my skin.
I was sure that the others would not have been able to understand him if it had not been for our wolf hearing.
“What?!” Aida and I both demanded at the same time.
“Whoa, man, way to throw me under the bus!” Tyrus charged.
“Why would you call him here?”
“Too be fair, I did NOT call him here.” Tyrus attempted his defense. “I just kept him up-to-date with things that were happening here.” He added, sheepishly.
“So, you were SPYING on me!!!!” I cried, pushing Enzo away as I approached Tyrus in anger.
“Well…uh…I…umm…you see…” Tyrus stammered, unable to think of a good excuse for his actions. “He’s my Alpha!” He finally admitted, exasperated.
I just gaped at him in surprise while Aida glared daggers at him. Enzo seemed completely oblivious as to what was going on as he began wrapping himself around my body again.
“Are you kidding me with this right now?!” I screamed as I thrust Enzo away from me, again.
I stormed off, cursing profanities as I went, yelling at the top of my lungs.
“You are in SO much trouble, mister!” Aida sneered at Tyrus before running after me.
Aida and I walked back towards the pack house, Aida apologizing for Tyrus as we went. I dismissed her apologies as unnecessary though, as irritated as I was with Tyrus for spying, I also could not really blame him. Tyrus was Enzo’s Beta, his loyalties lied with him, always. I should have known better than to behave in such a way, especially, with the future Beta of my mate present. I really had no one to blame but myself.
“Marvel!” Alpha Timber’s usually calm voice had a steely tone to it as he called out to me.
I looked up to see him running in our direction, his muscles tensed and anger radiating from him.
“How could you not tell me that you are mated to Alpha Enzo?!” He demanded.
Just then Enzo and Tyrus, who had been following us at a respectful distance, caught up to us. Enzo clenching and unclenching his fists as he stared between Timber and I.
“I am so sorry, Alpha Enzo. She is unmarked. I had no idea that she was yours.” Timber apologized turning towards Enzo, lightly bowing his head in a show of respect.
“You should learn to keep your hands to yourself until you know better.” Enzo grumbled in return.
“This is ridiculous!” I scoffed, everyone turning their focus back on me. “I did not tell you that I had a mate because he…” I lifted my hand to point an accusatory finger at Enzo. “For all intents and purposes, rejected me!”
“I did no such thing!” Enzo charged back.
“Are you kidding me with this?!” I shouted as I stepped towards Enzo. “You hid your scent from me! You have ignored me for a month! You told me that you did not want a mate!”
“No! I said that I did not want a mate right now because I am not ready to be Alpha!” He countered. “I never gave you permission to go around throwing yourself at every Alpha that looks your way!”
“How dare you!” I growled.
I was hurt by his accusation. I knew that I had allowed things to go too far with Alpha Timber, but Enzo had no right to talk to me like I was some cheap slut. I would have not allowed anything to happen with Timber if Enzo had only manned up and accepted our mating. It was his choice to push me away and while I may have made mistakes, I was not the only one.
I turned on my heel and marched away from him. I headed directly for the pack house not wanting to speak to Enzo any further. Aida ran after me, offering me words of comfort and support.
