Nash roared in frustration, his patience finally snapping. "At a time like this, do you really think I have a reason to lie?! If the child were mine, would I ever deny it? From start to finish, I never touched Caroline, How the hell could she be pregnant with my child?!"

Julia froze. She couldn't believe what she was hearing.

If... if Caroline wasn't carrying Nash's child, then everything she had done, everything she had schemed for what? What was the point!

Their eyes met, even didn't say a word, but it felt as though a thousand words had passed between them. Caroline knew David had been outside the whole time. He had arrived at nearly the same time as Nash. But it was Nash who had fought to save her, it was Nash who had broken down the door. From beginning to end...David had done nothing.

Caroline had assumed Nash was fighting for the child, because he thought it was his child.
