Chapter 40
Chapter 40
Just as she was feeling pleased with herself, Howard and Felix walked in briskly
from the door.
Amanda was scared speechless.
Felix gave her a cold glance and scolded, “You were supposed to take care of Rina, bring her to the Manor. Instead, you neglected her and went shopping. Don’t you. know what happened to Rina? How can you be in the mood for shopping?”
While saying this, Howard gave Grace a cold glance.
“I… I just went out for a little while, Amanda murmured in response.
Felix scolded angrily, “How dare you say that!”
Amanda was too scared to speak again.
“Alex, check the surveillance,” Howard commanded in a cold voice.
“Mr. Logan, the surveillance inside the house didn’t capture Ms. Rina,” Alex replied.
Howard furrowed his brow. “Then check the surveillance cameras on the streets
outside.”
If Rina went out, she would surely be caught on camera.
“Yes!”
Alex quickly retrieved the surveillance footage from the cameras outside the Manor and on the streets.
In the footage, Mia and Kara were seen supporting the disheveled Rina as they walked briskly onto the road.
Rina kept her head down, her back facing the camera, making it impossible to see her face clearly.
However, due to their nervousness. Mia and Kara would occasionally turn their heads, revealing their faces clearly.

Naturally, everyone mistook Kara for Rina.

“It’s this little boy, he must have abducted Rina,” Amanda angrily accused, finally shifting the blame away from herself.
She immediately ordered, “Alex, find out who this wild child is.”
“No need, I know who it is. Don’t bother yourselves with Rina’s situation anymore. I will safely bring Rina back,” Howard coldly declared before leaving in large strides.
The boy in the surveillance footage was someone he was all too familiar with.
He was Sally’s son.
However, how could he be here and take Rina with him? Howard needed to find
out the truth.
Grace sensed that something was amiss and wanted to catch up to see what was happening, but she didn’t dare. All she could do was anxiously wait in place.
While Sally was still contemplating what to do, there was a forceful knocking on
the door from outside.
Rather than saying it was knocking, it was more like someone was pounding on the
door.
“Sally, open the door for me,” Howard’s angry voice came from outside.
Sally’s face turned pale with fear, but she still held the three children protectively in her arms.
“Rina, Kara, Mia, don’t be afraid,” she reassured them in a soft voice.
Rina clung tightly to Sally’s clothes, her eyes filled with fear.
Sally’s heart ached as she looked at her, strengthening her determination to protect Rina.
“Mia, Kara, take Rina back to the room. No matter what happens outside, don’t come out, understand?”
“Yes!”

Mia and Kara nodded simultaneously, holding Rina’s hands and going upstairs to
their room.
“Sally, if you don’t open the door, I’ll break it down,” Howard threatened.
As soon as he finished speaking, Sally opened the door, appearing calm and composed. “Mr. Logan, what are you doing? I just took half a day off. Is it necessary for you to follow me home?”
“Sally, are you pretending to be ignorant?” Howard approached angrily, gripping Sally’s wrist tightly. “Tell me, where is Rina?”
“Rina? What Rina?” Sally pretended not to know.
But her evasive eyes were caught by Howard. “Sally, your son took away my daughter, and here you are acting foolish. It seems like you’re looking for death.”
