As Sally walked out of the office, he intercepted her path.
“It’s work hours, Sally. Where are you going?” Howard’s face was cold and stern, devoid of any warmth.
Sally hurriedly said, “Mr. Logan, something happened at home, and I need to go back immediately. I’m requesting half a day off.”
“Is the law firm your home? You can just go back whenever you want?” For some reason, Howard felt inexplicably angry when he heard Sally say ‘home.’
In his mind, flashes of Sally being with Jeremy last night appeared.
Sally concealed her sense of urgency and patiently pleaded, “Mr. Logan, I’m really sorry, but something has happened at home, and I need to go back immediately. I hope you can be understanding.”
“What if I don’t agree?” Howard approached.
Sally stared at him, her gaze turning cold. “Mr. Logan, whether you agree or not, I have to leave today.”
“Sally!” Howard grabbed her wrist, preventing her from leaving.
“Howard!” Sally couldn’t control her emotions any longer and forcefully shook off Howard’s hand. “Howard, you’re also a parent. If your child was in trouble right now, wouldn’t you rush back regardless of everything else?”
Sally left those words behind and walked away in long strides, tears streaming down her face.
Howard watched her departing figure, feeling a sudden pang of loneliness and pain in his heart.
Sally hurriedly returned home.
“Mia, how is Kara?”
The living room was silent, and Scarlet looked somewhat helpless as she stared at

Sally couldn’t believe her eyes as she looked at the three children sitting on the sofa. She thought her eyes had some problems.
Rina looked at Sally with a dull gaze, showing no reaction in her vacant eyes.
Step by step, Sally approached. First looked at Mia, then at Kara and finally at Rina.
Although Rina had injuries on her face and appeared disheveled, she couldn’t hide
the resemblance to Kara.
What was going on?
Sally’s mind felt completely blank at the moment.
“Mama, I’m sorry. We lied to you.” Mia lowered his head apologetically.
If they hadn’t lied to Mama about Kara getting hurt, Mama wouldn’t have come back so quickly.
They had to let Mama know about this before the Logan Family found out and then come up with a plan.
But now, Sally’s attention was entirely focused on Rina.
“Mama, this is Rina,” Kara introduced from the side.
Sally’s voice trembled as she called out, “Ri… Rina.”
“Mama, actually, you’ve already met Rina. When we just returned to the country, Rina and I were mistakenly switched.” Mia confessed honestly.
Sally finally recalled those few days when Kara didn’t talk much. At the time, she had thought Kara was just being playful, but she didn’t realize it wasn’t Kara at all, it was Rina.
As a mother, she hadn’t even noticed.
“Mama, I know Kara and I shouldn’t have lied to you, but we also wanted to figure out why Rina looks exactly like us. You once said that only siblings look alike, so we wanted to know if Rina is our sister,” Mia explained truthfully.
“After our investigation, Rina’s father is the same as Kara and my father.” Mia handed over the paternity test they had done before.

After a while, she managed to calm her emotions and asked softly, “Rina, your….
father is… who?”
