Micah and Kara continued to chat away, unaware of the dark eyes sizing up their interactions.
“Micah, I got some of Rina’s daddy’s hair. I thought I’d give them tomorrow when we met, but I think it’d be better to give it now.”
Kara pulled out a small vial from her bag, pausing to make sure that Howard wasn’t watching them. When the coast was clear, she handed the bottle to her brother.
Micah studied the contents before placing it inside his own bag.
During this time, the line had slowly moved forward until it was their turn.
The staff members led them to their seats and fastened their seat belts, making sure that everyone was safe and sound.
Micah and Kara, who’d been on roller coasters several times already, weren’t nervous or afraid at all. Rather, they buzzed with excitement as the train crept up and up the railing.
Howard stared up at the squealing, hoping with all his heart that “Rina” would stay this energetic. However, a part of him

knew that something was off.
“Daddy!”

Kara, who’d finally been unbuckled from the roller coaster, had skipped over happily.
Micah followed closely behind her. When he heard Kara call Howard “Daddy,” though, a strange feeling rose up inside him.
Howard scooped up Kara and softly asked, “Was it fun?”
“Mhm!” She nodded her head vigorously.
Micah carefully walked up to the pair and stopped. “Hello, mister.”
“Hm!” Howard nodded in response.
He didn’t let his anger toward Sally affect how he spoke to Micah. After all, he was just a child.
“Where’s your mother? Is she okay with you being on your own?”
When he asked this, Howard had to fight to rein in his personal thoughts.

Micah politely replied, “Mommy’s very busy. My maid auntie brought me here today.”
Just as expected of her. She wouldn’t even bother to spend time with her son.
Howard felt his face heat up with anger..
“Mister, my auntie is waiting for me over there, so I’ll leave now. Bye, Rina.”
“Bye!”
Micah waved his hand before running off. He’d been afraid that his mommy would return with Rina and bump into Howard.
Howard looked down at Kara, a questioning expression flitting across his eyes. “You know each other?”
“We just met in line,” she answered innocently.
He continued to stare into her round face, quirking an eyebrow in uncertainty.
Meanwhile, Kara’s large eyes scanned her eyes until they landed on the snack stand, instantly enraptured by the bright display.

“Daddy, daddy, over there… I want to buy food from over there.” She raised her little finger to point at the kiosk, shouting excitedly.

Howard followed her gesture and frowned once more. “Those things aren’t healthy. What do you want to eat? I’ll have Cindy make it for you at home.”
“No, Daddy, I want to eat it from there,” she began to whine cutely.
Every time she used her sweetest voice and her puppy–dog eyes, her mommy would quickly give in.
Naturally, this would be her solution to Howard’s refusal too. Once again, she’d forgotten all about pretending to be Rina.
Howard, for his part, didn’t fall for her charms as easily. “No, those snacks are too greasy or too seasoned. They’re not good for children.”
“Hmph! I hate Daddy!” Kara pouted angrily, letting out a little huff.
Howard regarded her expressiveness, his suspicions only deepening.
In the end, Kara couldn’t win against him.

She continued to lose her temper, threatening to ignore him or not want to ride any more rides. She was trying everything she could to get him to compromise.
However, this didn’t sit well with him at all. Since she didn’t want to play around, he thought it was best to head back.
Without another word, he picked up Kara and walked out of the amusement park. They were soon back in front of the Logan Family Estate.
At the same time, Micah had successfully reunited with Sally and Rina.
Sally had done her best to pick out the tastiest foods for her precious children.
This was Rina’s first time trying snacks like these. Each one was a new experience.
“Kara, slow down. You’re getting food all over your face.” Sally smiled at her enthusiasm and affectionately wiped off the oil with a napkin.
The little girl stared up at her in a daze, hypnotized by Sally’s gentle expression.

She suddenly leaped into Sally’s arms in a tight embrace.
The unexpected move caught Sally off–guard. “Kara, what’s wrong with you?”
Rina simply strengthened her grip and kept quiet.
Sally looked over at Micah in confusion.
Noticing her puzzlement, he hurried to explain, “Kara’s just very happy. She’s trying to show her happiness with a silent performance.”
Pfft!
Convinced by his reasoning, Sally burst into laughter. “You really love acting, don’t you, Kara? Should Mommy sign you up for an acting class?”
Rina finally released her hold.
“Okay, that’s enough acting now. We should start heading back home.” Sally tenderly brushed her hand against Rina’s head.
The little girl nodded in agreement, forcing herself to paste on a wide grin.

Back at the Logan Family Estate.
Howard had brought Kara back home.
Cindy was curious about their arrival. “Rina, didn’t you go to the amusement park to have some fun? Why’re you back so early?”
Kara didn’t say anything. She just pouted and huffed grumpily in Howard’s direction before stomping upstairs. The door slammed shut as she holed up in her room.
“Mr. Logan, what… What’s wrong?” Cindy asked, a bewildered expression on her face.
Howard watched the angered Kara leave, his brow furrowing at her actions.
“Mr. Logan!”
A man dressed casually strode in through the door, a pair of glasses perched on his nose. He seemed to be in his thirties.
Cindy’s shock increased. “Mr. Lowell.”

Has Miss Rina gotten sick again? It didn’t seem like it.
Matt smiled at her and nodded in greeting.

He had previously been Rina’s primary care doctor. For many years, he’d monitored her condition.
Because Rina’s condition hadn’t been improving, though, it didn’t take long for Grace to locate a doctor abroad.
Matt hadn’t supported this plan at all.
Howard had also agreed with him.
However, Howard’s parents had insisted on going along with Grace’s decision. She was, of course, Rina’s mother and would never do anything to hurt her. And so Howard ended up giving in and allowing Grace to put Rina through a month- long treatment session.
He glanced over at Matt and coldly said, “Come with me to the study. We need to talk.”
“Of course!”
Although Cindy was still confused, she didn’t dare pry into their business.
In the study, Howard explained his situation with “Rina” over

Matt’s forehead creased, his frown never leaving his face.
“So, Mr. Logan, is your concern that Rina is too energetic?”
“Mhm!”
Matt thought for a moment before speaking up, “May I go and see Rina?”
“She’s still angry with me. She locked herself in her room, but feel free to go ahead and try. Just don’t irritate her further,” Howard sighed softly.
If there was anything capable of swaying his composure and giving him a headache, it was this “Rina.”
“Understood.” Matt stood up from his seat and left the room.
Now left alone, Howard closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. Exhaustion hung over him. After a brief pause, he pulled himself to his feet and followed the doctor.
He knew that Rina was afraid of strangers, and she’d always seemed repulsed by the mere sight of Matt.
He still couldn’t deny the feelings of worry within him.
