Chapter 42
Chapter 6
Philip finally couldn't sit still.
"Helen, how did you get the largest share? And how did you make those old fools support you to become the chairman?"
"You're nothing but an ignorant little girl! What ability do you have to control the company? I don't accept this! Let me tell you, Helen, as long as I, Philip, am here for one day, you won't be able to sit comfortably in that chairman's position!" His eyes were full of anger and unwillingness.
His bloodshot eyes stared at me, seemingly wanting to swallow me whole.
I smiled. Helen indeed didn't have this capability, but Julia did!
"Big brother, you probably don't know yet? I was able to become chairman so smoothly all because of Dad's support."
"If it weren't for the 5% shares he transferred to me, how could I have become the largest shareholder?"
"What? That's impossible! He clearly told me that those shares were reserved for me. It's impossible that he would give them to you!"
"But he did give them to me, not to you..."
Before I could finish speaking, Philip had already left the office, running so fast it caught me off guard.
Sebastian could never have imagined that the shares he sold out for his son would end up in my hands!
Early the next morning, news of Sebastian's sudden illness and death shocked me.
Just died like that?
I returned to the Parker house. The mourning hall was already set up, they moved quite fast.
I heard it was triggered when Philip confronted him. Due to emotional agitation, by the time the ambulance arrived, he was already cold.
Philip and Sofia cried as if their lives depended on it in front of everyone.
As Sebastian's beloved daughter, I called the police in front of everyone, demanding to investigate the truth for my father.
This moved quite a few people present.
The police came, and for once, everyone in the Parker house gave a consistent statement.
I walked up to Philip, wiped the tears from the corner of my eye, held his hand, and looked into his eyes.
"Big brother, Dad left us too suddenly. He was with you when he passed. Did he leave any last words for us?"
Philip suddenly went mad, shaking off my hand.
Pointing at Sebastian's coffin, he started cursing loudly.
I raised an eyebrow slightly, revealing a barely noticeable smile.
I stood by, pretending to be panic-stricken.
"That old bastard Sebastian, he deserved to die! He said he'd leave the shares to me, let me become the company's successor.
But in the end, he gave everything to you, you little bitch! He left nothing for me!"
"He said I was useless, didn't he? Well, I killed him, took back all the shares that belong to me with my own hands!"
"Ah... Philip Parker! What are you saying?!"
Sofia screamed, interrupting his words, forcefully covering his mouth, looking around in shock and dismay.
I shifted my gaze, and Philip suddenly froze in place...
The nearby police officers looked at each other and directly handcuffed Philip.
I cried even harder, frantically beating Sebastian's coffin, cursing him for being so good to me, leaving me so many shares, yet dying himself.
Sofia looked at me in horror, her pupils visibly dilating.
Her whole body was trembling, her lips quivering along with it.
The muscles on her face twisted into a grimace, full of panic and hopelessness.
Seeing that the police and the crowd had left.
I patted my hands that had just touched the coffin, dusted off non-existent dust from my clothes, and turned to Sofia with a gentle smile. Sebastian's shares naturally all fell into my name.
The charge of intentional homicide against Philip was established He went to confront Sebastian, they argued, and he took out the sleeping pills he had prepared in advance, already dissolved in water. Claiming he was wrong and begging for forgiveness, he personally handed that glass of water to Sebastian, watching him drink it down.
Sofia came to me, taking out all her savings, begging me to save Philip.
I agreed and went to the detention center with Sofia.
Only a fool would refuse money.
"Helen, you have the nerve to come? It's all you! Everything was controlled by you! You killed Dad, killed Peter, and now you've sent me here!"
"It's all you! Mom, it's all her! Everything was done by her!!"
He was like a wild beast out of control, frantically beating on the glass window, letting out desperate and fierce roars.
I sneered and picked up the intercom.
You're right, but it's a pity you realized it too late.
"Philip Parker, you're right, everything was controlled by me. But what can you do about it? What did you see me do? Did you see me kill anyone?"
I raised my voice, looking at Sofia, tightening the hatred in my eyes.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you. That 5% of shares wasn't transferred to me by Sebastian. He was going to use it to bribe other directors, wanting to get you into the board of directors."
"In his heart, it was all about you, this son."
"It's just a pity that the person he found had already been won over by me..."
"Helen! I'll kill you, you bitch!"
Philip howled to the sky, like a desperate and sorrowful beast, punching the glass window again and again.
Killing your father who was wholeheartedly scheming for you with your own hands, how does that feel?
"Big brother, killing someone means facing the firing squad."
I looked at Sofia's scattered and helpless eyes and let out a cold laugh.
"Sofia, another precious son of yours is about to die. How about that? How does the taste of despair feel?"
She stood there dazed, her mouth trembling open a few times, then suddenly knelt down before me, clutching my trouser leg, crying her heart out.
"Helen, Mom was wrong, Mom really knows she was wrong. Al these years, we shouldn't have treated you like that."
"But you're just a daughter, you'll eventually marry out, you'll eventually leave the Parker family."
"Your big brother is the root of the Parker family. The Parker family can't be without your big brother. Mom begs you to save your big brother, he can't die..."
I snorted in disdain and turned to leave.
Your son is so great, why don't you go die with him?
I'm not a saint, I'm here for revenge.
Using the original owner's body, I just helped her vent some anger along the way.
Everything in the Parker family originally belonged to me, I'm just taking back what's mine.
On the day I officially took office as chairman, I went back to see Sofia.
In the huge villa, Sofia was in tattered clothes, disheveled and unkempt.
As soon as she saw me, her eyes widened, her expression panicked, full of terror.
"Helen, Helen... you're back... come to Mom..."
"Helen, you're back from school, Mom will make you something delicious... No! You're not allowed to eat, that's for your brother!
You're just a girl, what good food do you need to eat!"
"Leave it all for your brother to eat, you eat the leftovers! Al the good things should be left for my son to eat..."
Her eye sockets were sunken, her expression tense, her hands clutching the hem of her clothes, cowering timidly in the corner.
I crouched down, staring into her eyes, smiling brightly.
"Sofia, do you remember Julia?"
"I am Julia."
She suddenly startled, her pupils constricting, her eyes full of horror and shock.
"Sister, sister, I didn't kill you! It was all Sebastian, he killed you, he said only if you died could I marry him and get shares in the company! It has nothing to do with me! Sister, forgive me, forgive me..." "Don't come over, don't come over... Sister, I was wrong, I shouldn't have slept with your husband... I was wrong... I really know I was wrong, don't come over..."
"I just wanted his money, I don't love him, I know you love him, I'll give Sebastian back to you... Sister, I'll give Sebastian back to you..."
Sofia went mad.
She ran all over the villa looking for her sister.
Rumors spread that the Parker family villa was haunted, that Sofia saw her long-dead sister standing there covered in blood, holding her head, asking for her life.
She tried to catch ghosts, wailing every night, as if possessed by a ghost, and eventually hanged herself.
I changed the company's name, reorganized the company, expanded its scale, and in two years developed the company into an industry leader.
It was another snowy winter day.
I stood in front of Julia's grave, gently wiping her photo, speaking to her smiling face.
"Hello, my name is Julia. Nice to meet you."
