Chapter Secret 5

Chapter 5 A Virgin Clay

  • Clayton held her captivating gaze momentarily before smiling and saying, “Nah. We have plenty of time to get to know each other anyway.”
  • Thinking the man was crazy, Oona shoved him aside and walked away.
  • “My car’s downstairs, let me take you to the hospital for those injuries,” Clayton called after her.
  • “Forget it,” Oona responded coldly, continuing towards the stairs.
  • Knowing her original body as the Grim Lord had powerful self-healing abilities, Oona was confident the injuries would heal on their own based on the memories she’d inherited.
  • Just as she took a step, Clayton grabbed her wrist firmly. His expression turned serious, a mix of concern and gentle persuasion as he spoke, “Hey, come on?”
  • Oona met his gaze before nodding in agreement.
  • “Wait for me downstairs in the car. . I’ll join you after a quick smoke,” he said.
  • Clayton released her wrist and watched as Oona disappeared. He then opened the rooftop door and stepped outside.
  • His demeanor changed back to a cold and menacing look as he stared at the dangling Verona.
  • “Leave her hanging there for at least 12 hours. Anyone who tries to save her gets the same treatment!” The instant Clayton spoke, a figure appeared nearby.
  • He continued, “Deal with those thugs from earlier. Don’t let them cause any unnecessary trouble for my wife.”
  • A voice emerged from the darkness, “Yes, Mr. Goetz.”
  • Acknowledging his boss’s orders, the figure vanished quickly into the night.
  • Later, Clayton descended from the rooftop and bumped into Tyler and Anson on the landing.
  • “Dude, I bet a hundred bucks Clay went to see some chick! Can you believe he ditched his bros over a hoe? So not cool!” Tyler whined.
  • “I know right. I’ll toss in another pack of cigars on that bet. Money’s on Oona Walsh!” Anson chimed in.
  • “Damn! That chick’s a freaking beast! I heard rumors she’s like a backwoods hick, ugly as sin and scared of her own shadow. But did you see her just now? Faced down that beast like a champ, ready to throw down! She’s scary as hell!” Tyler said, still picturing Oona, the “badass chick,” ripping apart the creature with her hands.
  • Anson scoffed. “Rumors are always BS, you know that. They also say Clay’s a Casanova, swimming in women, can’t even last a night without a girl. Yet here he is, still a V-card holder!”
  • “Exactly! Those rumors are total crap!” Tyler agreed.
  • Just as they were venting their frustrations, a cold presence sent shivers down their spines. They whipped around, nearly jumping out of their skin, to find someone standing right behind them.
  • “Damn it! Why sneaked up on us like that? You freaked us out, dude!” Tyler stammered nervously.
  • Clayton stared at them, a dangerous glint in his eyes despite his smile. “Think I wouldn’t have heard all that crap you were spewing if I made any noise?”
  • “Whoa. Hey, please go easy on us, Clay!” Tyler and Anson begged.
  • “You had it coming!” Clayton snapped, turning to leave. He stopped for a second, throwing over his shoulder, “And next time, show some damn respect to my wife!”
  • Clayton stopped, a scowl twisting his features. “And who said I’m still a virgin?” With that, he stormed off.
