Chapter Secret Love 2
Chapter 2 Mens
The bathroom door opened, and Shaw emerged, wrapped in a towel. He glanced at Julia."What are you doing?"
"Flight paperwork," Julia replied, putting the folded promotion application in her bag. Shaw didn't suspect. He wiped water droplets from his abs with a towel. "If you feel tired or stressed, just quit. I can support you." Julia's heart lurched. She stared at the man she'd loved for five years, swallowing her
motions. "I'm good."
Shaw knew she'd sacrificed a lot for him and that her love of flying was as deep as her love of life. And now he told her to quit?
Julia took a deep breath, forcing herself to stay calm. It was okay. In fifteen days, she'd be gone from Skyways, and him.

Back in the bedroom, Julia had barely laid down when Shaw wrapped his arms around her from behind. His
made her tense. She tried to push him away.. His fingers slipped under her nightgown, cool against her skin. She shivered."No." The thought of his hands being on Sierra just days ago repulsed her. Shaw was surprised. "What's wrong?"
Julia brushed his hand away, inventing an excuse."Period. My stomach hurts." Shaw didn't question it, kissing the top of her head. He gently placed his hand on her abdomen."Let me warm you up." Feeling his warm hand, Julia's eyes welled up. She didn't question about his care or love. Still, she didn't understand why he couldn't let go of his ex. Did he always keep a place in his heart for Sierra? She didn't sleep a wink.
The next morning, Shaw was getting dressed when Julia woke up. His phone on the nightstand lit up. It was a message from Sierra.
"Shaw, item 3 on my 18th birthday list: Lake Geneva for the lotuses. Meet me at the entrance!" Julia's chest tightened. Last week, Shaw had promised to take her to Lake Geneva to see the lotuses. She thought he remembered that, but it turned out that he had a date with Sierra.
Watching him preen in the mirror, Julia said, "I heard the lotuses at Lake Geneva were in full bloom. Let's go see them today!"
Shaw paused, adjusting his tie."I've got a training session with the senior pilots for the interns today. Let's do it next week."
He grabbed his phone and left.
Watching him go, Julia whispered, "Next
week,
the
lotuses will
be gone."
In the past, he would take her to anywhere she wanted. Even if she forgot, he'd remind her and get everything ready. Now, their roles were reversed.
The pain in her hand snapped her back to reality. There were only fourteen days left. She could
the lotuses somewhere else.

After Shaw left, Julia ate breakfast. Looking at the huge photo wall in the living room, a knot formed in her stomach. There were the photos from their five years together, trips, cities they'd flown to. She'd carefully chosen 100 out of more than a thousand to hang on the wall. Their first flight together, their first kiss under a fireworks display...
At that time, Shaw said, "A hundred photos symbolize a hundred years of happiness, a hundred years of our love."
Now his love had changed. The photos didn't matter anymore.
With trembling hands, Julia took down the photos, one by one.
was all over.
