Chapter My Troubles 100
Chapter 100
"They say this child is Mr. Houle's nephew.
"You know about the hacker incident, right? Mr. Houle and Nadia must have known each other back then, and their relationship seems to be quite good.
"And this child, having no father or mother since a young age, Mr. Houle probably asked. Nadia to help.
"If you reveal your relationship with Nadia now, it would appear that you two have reconciled, but it could disrupt Mr. Houle's plans.
"If Mr. Houle gets really upset, you have Wilcher Group backing you, so maybe it won't matter. But Nadia is just a doctor-if Mr. Houle decides to take action, she could vanish without a trace."
Mick slowly relaxed his clenched fists. He had investigated the hacker incident himself.
Eddie had just been in the right place at the right time, acting out of a sense of justice. But Nadia was someone who repaid kindness, and Eddie definitely wasn't someone who cared about money or jewelry. He had seen how close Norman and Nadia were. It seemed Eddie had only this one way to repay her kindness. He had always wanted Nadia to return. But now, with her safety on the line, he couldn't take any chances. With that thought in mind, he waved toward Ted on stage.
"Ted, come here. Stop causing trouble."
Ted pouted, running toward him while crying uncontrollably, burying his face in Mick's chest.
Upon seeing this, Mona seized the opportunity to speak up. "Ms. Vega, I apologize on behalf of Ted. Please don't take it out on him. He's just a child." Before Nadia could respond, she quickly pulled Mick away from the stage. Nadia watched them leave, a surge of unshakable sorrow rising within her.
This was the nth time Mick had abandoned her for the sake of his own interests. Her heart had long since gone numb with pain.
But... She couldn't completely cut off her feelings. She cared about Ted far too much. In fact, her apparent indifference to him earlier was a measure to protect him.
She was going to divorce Mick, but if Ted kept holding on to her, Mona's personality meant she would likely retaliate against him after marrying Mick
A mother's love for her child always made her think ahead for their future. She hadn't fought for custody, but she still hoped that Ted would have a good life moving forward. "Sorry," she took a deep breath, trying to adjuster mood, and then looked at Eddie, "but I've made a fool of myself again."
Eddie didn't find it amusing. Although his expression was hidden, his voice carried an undertone of concern.
"If you need help tomorrow, feel free to call."
Nadia paused for a moment. "You mean, you think he won't agree to the divorce tomorrow?" Eddie didn't respond, but his silence seemed like an affirmation. Nadia rubbed her forehead, feeling even more frustrated.
"I figured if I got him to disown me earlier, the marriage certificate would be a real headache for him."
The next family took the stage, but she was no longer interested in the performance. Instead, she kept praying for tomorrow to go smoothly. When Norman learned the divorce was set for tomorrow, his eyes lit up excitedly. He shook Eddie's arm eagerly.
"Uncle Eddie, does this mean Ms. Vega won't be that nasty person's mom anymore?"
Eddie nodded.
"Yay!" He was overjoyed.
Because Ted always made Nadia sad, and now she wouldn't have to be his mom anymore, Norman thought Nadia would surely be happy all the time. If Nadia was happy, then he would be too.
Norman's mind worked quickly. After his excitement settled, he suddenly thought of a very serious question.
"Uncle Eddie, will you be there tomorrow?"
Eddie thought for a moment. "It depends."
Norman looked at him, his calm demeanor making him anxious, his ears practically steaming from worry. "Aren't you going to fight for Ms. Vega? What if someone else takes her away?"
