Chapter 683 This Old Lady Cannot Be Taken Away
Chapter 683 This Old Lady Cannot Be Taken Away
Sophia turned around, trying her best not to shout. She said each word clearly, "Bella, listen carefully, this time Grandma is really in trouble."
"Every time people say that she's really in trouble, but what happens when we sent her to the hospital? Nothing. Isn't that just a waste of money? Just because the Lawson family is rich doesn't mean we can squander money like this." Bella retorted.
Sophia was not in the mood to argue with her. The medical personnel arrived instantly and did a quick check-up before carrying the old Mrs. Lawson onto a stretcher.
However, Bella ran over and stood in their way. "Alright, you can go back now. I'll pay whatever it costs, but this old lady doesn't need to be taken away."
The medical personnel looked at her strangely. "What do you mean? Are you saying she doesn't need to be taken away? She's in life-threatening danger right now. If we don't take her away, things might go wrong. Are you willing to take responsibility for that?"
"What could possibly happen to her? She's just faking it!" Bella said indifferently.
The paramedics said very seriously, "Ma'am, are you the doctor or are we the doctors? Her condition is very serious. If we don't give timely treatment to her, something might truly happen to her. I hope you are not counting on her not surviving by saying she's faking it."
Bella realized something was wrong, while Cathy ran over, "Mom, don't listen to them. They might be in cahoots with Sophia."
Sophia couldn't take it anymore. She walked up to the paramedics and said, "Please take the patient away. I'll handle this."
The paramedics nodded and took the old Mrs. Lawson away.
Meanwhile, Bella finally stopped trying to maintain her image of a nice aunt. Even though Sophia had shown her some warmth in the past, she was still quite angry today.
"Sophia, what do you mean by this?"
Sophia looked at her and said, "Even though Grandmother wasn't here with us over the past years, I can tell whether she's faking it or not. And aunt, even if she is faking it, you can't afford the consequences if you don't take her to the hospital. If something happens, the whole family will hate you."
Bella was frightened and didn't know what to say for a long time.
However, Cathy still didn't realize the severity of the situation, "Mom, don't listen to her. Does she know Grandma better than we do?"
Bella didn't know what to say, for she felt something heavy was on her heart.
It was impossible for Sophia and Aria to stay there the whole time. They followed the ambulance and went to the hospital.
During that time, they also made a phone call to the family.
Soon, they all gathered outside the emergency room.
Abbott asked as soon as he arrived, "Sophia, what happened? Why did Grandma fall?"
Sophia didn't say much on the phone, but now she briefly recounted what happened. Everyone else heard it as well.
"This is ridiculous! I never said anything about Cathy's previous ridiculous behavior, but if anything happens to your grandmother this time, I must teach her a lesson."
William didn't really believe that the old Mrs. Lawson was really sick. After all, he had been with her for so many years. If it wasn't for her body really getting better, they wouldn't have brought her back. Since the previous times she pretended to be sick and went to the hospital, she was probably playing the same trick again this time.
Soon, the doctor came out and asked, "Where are the patient's family members?"
Everyone went over.
Abbott asked, "Doctor, how is my mother's condition now?"
"It's very bad. She could pass away at any time. I give you this warning now so you can be mentally prepared. Once something happens to her, we'll give you the notice immediately so you can make plan for the funeral."
William was immediately stunned, even his legs went weak.
"Doctor, you... you are joking, right? Isn't my mother faking it?"
Everyone was pissed off by his words.
The doctor gave him a contemptuous glance and said, "Fake what? Do you think we can't tell what the patient is going through?"
William took a step back, wondering if what they said was true.
Abbott walked up to William and said, "Mom did many bad things in the past, and she deserved it. But this time, it's because of your daughter. If anything happens to mom, the three of you will be kicked out of the country for good."
Abbott was angry, really angry!
As the elder brother, Abbott had been tolerating William for many years. But today, what he said made William realize that the problem was much more serious than he had imagined. When no one was paying attention, William walked out of the hospital and called Cathy to ask where she was.
Cathy was still unconvinced and said, "Dad, it's okay for Grandma to play that trick on Sophia, but she even plays that on me. Does she think I don't know what kind of person she is?" "What kind of person? Cathy, are you with your mother?"
Bella also said angrily, "William, your mother went too far this time. It doesn't matter that she used that trick on Sophia, but now she's using it on our daughter. I'm really pissed off." "I don't care where you are now. Come over here. Now. If Mom dies today, it's all because of you two!"
William hung up the phone in anger.
Cathy and Bella looked at each other. Bella asked worriedly, "Do you think your grandmother is really not pretending this time?"
Cathy didn't believe it and said, "Mom, don't worry about her. This time, we can't let them control us anymore."
Bella didn't know who to listen to.
Soon, William called again and asked, "Where are you now?"
"We..."
Bella's hesitation made William understand what was happening. He asked angrily, "You didn't come, did you?" Before Bella could speak, William said, "Fine. You're no longer part of the Lawson family from now on." Then he hung up the phone.
Bella felt something was not right, but Cathy said, "Mom, it must because uncle forced him too much. This time, we..." Bella said, "Let's just go over. If something really happens to your grandmother..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Cathy interrupted her and said, "Nothing will happen to her. Grandma is fine."
