Chapter Return 19

Colin’s Obsession

“No, I mean Mr. Santos had an urgent business matter and had to leave for London last night,” Mr. Inman said.

“Oh, Thank Goodness” I sighed, even though I’m still surprised by the unexpected news of Jasper’s sudden departure to London.

“Yes,” Mr. Inman confirmed.

After dropping the surprising news about Jasper, Mr. Inman turned around to address the bustling hall. “Listen up everyone! Since we have new models accepted into the company, all staff and models alongside me will be having a welcome lunch at the restaurant just a walk away from here. I have made reservations.” The hall erupted with excitement, staff and models applauding.

“So, you all get ready!” Mr. Inman said.

Following the announcement, I made my way to the dressing room to change into a more casual clothes for the lunch gathering.

We arrived at the bustling restaurant, the atmosphere so lively, and the food and drinks were ready. “Eat up,” Mr. Inman said aloud.

After eating for a few minutes my phone suddenly rang 1 Apologized for the interruption, I excused myself from the table and stepped outside the restaurant to answer the call.

“Where are you?” Colin demanded, going straight to the point as soon as I picked up the phone.

“What do you mean?” I asked, confused.

“I mean, where are you? Are you with Jasper again?” Colin asked.

right to a

“And if I’m with him, what does that have to do with you, huh? Besides, you have no right to ask me where I am or who I’m with,” I retorted.

“I have every right to ask because you are mine!” Colinyelled.

“What? Yours?” I questioned, surprise at Colin’s possessive claim.

“Yes!” Colin affirmed.

Before I could retort, Colin interjected, “Oh, I just got a message from David that the company models and staff are having a welcome lunch at a nearby restaurant close to the company. You should have just said so instead of acting like a boss lady you never were.”

His words struck a nerve, leaving me momentarily speechless as I processed his insinuation. The realization that Colin had been informed about the lunch through his friend David, coupled with his last statement, left me feeling frustrated.

Unable to find the right words to respond, I ended the call.

“So, that Colin friend’s name is David, and he has been the one feeding Colin information about my activities at the company, huh?” I muttered to myself.

Shaking off the thoughts for a while, I composed myself and made my way back into the restaurant. All I needed to do was put the unsettling phone calls behind me and focus on enjoying the rest of the welcome lunch with my colleagues and everyone from IMG models.

After an hour of enjoyable conversation, introductions, and laughter at the welcome lunch, I felt uneasy as I felt someone was looking at me. Looking around, I locked eyes with a man dressed in all black, his face covered with a cap, drinking a soft drink at an opposite table. Each time I glanced in his direction, I found him staring back at me, I felt so uncomfortable.

The man’s persistent observation scared me, and I had to force myself to smile with my colleagues even though I felt like running away. His looks made it clear that he was fixated on me, making me so uneasy.

“Who would send someone to watch me like this?” I questioned myself silently, my mind racing to connect the dots and identify the source of this. In realization, Colin’s name flashed in my mind, triggering concern.

“It must be Colin,” I muttered to myself, I reached for my phone. And I immediately composed a text message

csape to

Colin

“Did you send someone to keep tabs on me?” I typed, and I hit send, waiting anxiously for a response while trying to maintain composure..

Within minutes, a message notification appeared on my phone, signaling Colin’s reply.

“Yes, I sent someone to keep tabs on you. I don’t want that bastard Jasper near you again, and I want to know wherever you are. Like I told you before, you are mine!”

This guy must be crazy!” I blurted out, hitting the table with my fit angrily. The restaurant fell silent

immediately and I felt the sudden hush, I cautiously lifted my eyes to find all eyes fixed on me.

“Who is Crazy?” Mr. Inman asked, drawing everyone’s attention to him, then backed me.

“Eh?” I replied, feeling uneasy at the sudden attention

“I mean, who is ‘Crazy‘?” Mr. Inman pressed curiously,

I scanned the room, meeting the eyes of each person before I smiled nervously. “Oh, it’s just some stalker, nothing serious,” I improvised, trying to downplay my outburst.

“A stalker?” Anita, a fellow model, chimed in. “Listen, Selena, you should inform the police. Stalkers can be really scary, I was a victim once,” she shared.

Mr. Inman added, “That’s true. You should report it to the police.”

I looked at everyone and nodded “I will,” I looked back at the man still looking at me.

“Please do. People like that are monsters,” Anita emphasized.

“There really are!” I whispered to myself.

“Anyways, let’s put that aside for now and enjoy the moment. But don’t forget to make that report,” Anita suggested, pouring a drink for me.

I accepted the drink and smiled, though it felt forced. I raised the glass to my lips, I took a sip, though Colin said the man is just keeping tabs on me, I felt something else. His looks were so creepy. This isn’t just keeping tabs.

“Let’s eat,” Mr. Inman declared immediately, breaking my thoughts. I nodded, and we all resumed eating, all the while aware of the man Colin had sent to keep tabs on the, his eyes following my every move like a hawk.
