Chapter 222
Chapter 222
Jessica hung up the phone and put on a mischievous smile.
She wondered if Justin would become furious and really end up in the hospital in due course. Right after Jessica's call, Justin dialed Lucas’ number. Justin knew that Jessica wouldn't be so heartless. After all, she had been deeply in love with Lucas before.
Jessica rejected Lucas last night. When Lucas went back to his own apartment, he locked her phone in a cabinet. He was determined to ignore Jessica and anything related to her.
Lucas frowned when he saw the caller ID on his phone.
Justin called him only for two things. One, pushing Lucas to remarry Jessica. Two, telling Lucas to eat at home.
Lucas liked neither.
He looked at the phone that was vibrating on the table and had no intention of answering. The phone vibrated for about half a minute before it hung up automatically.
However, in just two seconds, the phone vibrated again.
The caller ID didn't change: Grandpa.
Lucas pursed his lips and reached out to tug at his tie impatiently. After four or five seconds, he picked up his phone and pressed the answer button. “Grandfather?”
“Lucas, I have good news for you.”
Justin's tone was obviously filled with joy, but Lucas was not happy. Most of the things that made Justin happy would make him unhappy.
“What is it?"
“I met Jessica today, and I talked to her about the marriage between you two. I asked her to hold a wedding with you first. Guess what she said?”
Lucas paused. Justin had always wanted Jessica to remarry him. If Jessica had refused, Justin wouldn't have been so happy.
Then there was only one answer. Jessica agreed!
For a moment, Lucas felt his heart beat faster.
“She agreed?”
“She didn't agree today. She said she would think about it, but I think she would agree! I told you, women love sweet words. Didn't you confess to her? If you were more active, my great-grandson would have come out!
"Alright, I won't talk to you anymore. I think Jessica will ask to meet you soon. Get prepared and tell the PR department to prepare a clarification. I will also talk to your mom about the wedding. We'll make it as grand as possible.”
"I see, grandpa.”
After hanging up the phone, Lucas looked at the phone in his hand. He felt overwhelmed by what he had heard and he couldn't even tell if that was real.
Jessica agreed to marry him again?
Thinking of this, Lucas just couldn't help but feel overjoyed
However, what Jessica had said last night was still in his mind. Lucas soon calmed down.

Chapter 222
Jessica's attitude towards him yesterday was far from nice. It was not even polite. Yet within less than 20 hours, she changed her mind?
Lucas was baffled. He gave credit to Hari for the first time for saying women were elusive.
Jessica put down the phone, and Wendy came in with a document in her arms. “Miss Hall.”
“What is it?"
Jessica took a sip of water.
“An action plan for the land in the north.”
Wendy said, handing the document to Jessica.
Jessica put down the glass in her hand, picked up the document, and quickly browsed through it. “Thank you very much, Wendy.”
Jessica paused. “Have you found out what happened to Luna?”
“I've traced the transaction records. They hired someone to cook the post.”
Wendy tried to get the research done quickly. But it seemed that the Cheek sisters had learned how to hide their names. Thus, it took Wendy some more time since the transactions were done anonymously.
Jessica nodded and looked down at the document in her hand. She smiled. “Wendy, the Thomas family will probably release the statement that Lucas and I will get married again in a few days. But we don't need to respond to it.”
Wendy was a little puzzled, but she believed that Jessica must have her reasons for doing so. “Yes, Miss Hall.”
Jessica looked at her and smiled, “You must have been exhausted these days. When the whole thing is over, I will put you on vacation.”
“Thank you, Miss Hall.”
Wendy did not refuse. She did need a long vacation to sort out her own business.
Seeing that Jessica did not give her any more instructions, Wendy turned around and closed the door before leaving.
