Rejected By My Mate

Chapter 98

[Alice]

A month later.

The entire magic realm celebrates the Green Moon Festival, which only happens once a year. Everyone, especially me and my sisters, was so excited to witness the blue moon turn to green moon together while holding hands.

“Finally, we were watching the green moon together. I was really looking forward to this five years ago.” Willow said, feeling nostalgic.

“I'm so sorry. It's all my fault.” I said with guilt.

“Hey. It doesn’t matter now. What's important is today. We are watching it together now. And this matters the most.” Xandra said, and squeezed my hand with a smile.

"Yeah. Thank heavens you are here with us again.” Val said and smiled gratefully.

“This felt so great,” Damona uttered. We all had a smile plastered on our lips while still looking up at the moon.

“Hey! Do you remember our dirty little secret?” Demonise said.

We all looked at each other while grinning deviously. “Are we going to do it again?” Xandra asked with excitement.

"Without a doubt, sister!” Val grinned.

“This never gets old!” Willow and I chuckled.

“Is this worth the trouble, though?” Willow said, smirking.

“The gods wouldn't find out, anyway!” Demonise said with confidence and we all burst out laughing. "Are you sure they won't?” I raised an eyebrow. My sisters giggled.

“Well... Uhm, maybe?” Demonise shrugged, and they burst into laughter. I shook my head in amusement.

“I think the gods will only think that it's a catastrophe,” Willow said in between laughing.

“Just like what they thought back then!” Xandra chimed, giggling.

“Haha, until now they still do not know that it was us who did it!” Damona exclaimed.

I still remember what happened a hundred and eight years ago. We stole the divine pentagon stone that keeps all the high-ranking spirits of divine beasts in control. It brought a disaster to the promised land and the council members have no choice but to seal everyone in the western land. Until now, they still have no clue that we are the culprits because we leave no tracks. Well, we were young and troublesome, but wise back then... and I think nothing ever changes. Hehe.

"How about we will play some tricks on Jupiter using the divine pentagon stone?!” Val said with a wicked smile and my sisters agreed. And they began planning our moves while consulting me. “Let's do it tomorrow. I know a perfect place to execute the plan.” I suggest. They raised a thumbs up while grinning.

“Let's keep them busy for a week!”

"Who speaks ill of me?” Jupiter uttered. The other gods look at him in amusement. A god's sneeze means something is going to happen soon.

“You rarely sneeze, brother. What does it mean?” Neptune said.

“It's a bad omen,” Ceres said

“I hope not,” Juno said.

"Someone must've mentioned your name,” Bacchus said nonchalantly, like it's not a big deal. So Jupiter dismissed the topic and talked about their merits instead. They still have to do more good deeds to replenish all their powers

The next day at Jupiter's Throne Room.

Jupiter was alone while his sisters and brothers were in their chamber. He was there for hours while lost in deep thoughts. His deep intuition told him that something was amiss, but he didn't know what it was. It's the first time he felt so uncomfortable and unknown. He hates not knowing everything, and now he is restless. Something is going to happen. He knew it. But what is it? Thinking about it, he remembered something from a hundred and eight years ago. He felt the same intuition as before. “A catastrophe might occur again..." he thought.

A hundred and eight years ago, all the high-ranking spirits of divine beasts living in the western promised land went into turmoil because of a missing divine pentagon stone that kept them in control. When the stone went missing, the divine beasts’ powers became uncontrollable and destroyed the sacred land. To prevent more damage, the gods have no choice but to seal the entire western promised land together with the divine beasts. Over a hundred years later, the divine pentagon stone is still nowhere to be found. The whereabouts of the divine pentagon stone were still unknown. The gods still didn't find out who was the culprit because there were no traces of the thief. It was an unsolved mystery that ever happened in the promised land.

Jupiter was disrupted in his thoughts when the big door busted open and came into his fellow gods and goddesses. Each greeted Jupiter as they settled in their respective seats.

The door busted open again and in came the Moon Goddess, shining in her glory. Everyone looked at her with a smile. Venus, the Goddess of love and beauty, felt a little insecure with Selene’s exquisite beauty.

"Greetings, everyone,” Goddess Selene bowed her head with respect to the council. Then Selene summoned her seat and sat down.

Jupiter cleared his throat. “Speak,” he commanded as he looked at Goddess Selene to give a statement.

“My fellow gods, next week is my sextuplets’ wedding. I'm here to remind all of you about the gifts.” Selene said.

"Oh, right! I almost forgot!” Venus and Diana both chimed.

“Thank you for the reminders, Selene,” Minerva said with a smile, and Selene smiled back.

“We will be there at the wedding. It's an important occasion we can't miss.” Jupiter said. Everyone nodded.

Selene notices the restlessness in Jupiter's expression. And she couldn't help but ask what was troubling him. “What's bothering you, Jupiter?”

Everyone turned to Jupiter in curiosity. Jupiter sighed. “Nothing. Let's discuss something else,” he said.

"Oh. It's been five years, but Pluto's seat was still empty.” Mars let out while looking at the empty seat next to him.

“The next God of Darkness still hasn't shown up,” Jupiter said.

“But the seat shouldn't remain empty for long. We must elect a new member.” Neptune said.

“I agree.” Everyone uttered

"How about Selene?” Diana suggests. After all, she thinks highly of Selene’s ability and deserves to be on the council.

“No. I can't be. I don't deserve the seat. You must find a suitable candidate.” Selene flatly refuses. “Why not? You are powerful enough to be part of us. And I think you deserve the seat.” Minerva said.

“I agree. Selene, you also have both intellectual and visual prowess. You are the most suitable candidate we can find.” Vulcan said, and others agreed. Jupiter remains silent while listening. "Don't forget that you are the mother of the powerful great sextuplets. It's enough reason for you to deserve the seat.” Bacchus said.

Selene was speechless and let out a sigh. “I still refuse.”

"We all agreed to elect you. Let's hear father's decision then.” Apollo said.

Everyone looked at Jupiter.

"If Selene refuses, we can't force her to join the council. But Selene, let's hear your reasons.” Jupiter said.

Selene nodded. “I cannot take more responsibility. I am busy as it is. But I have a suggestion. Let's ask my daughters’ opinion about this matter since they defeated Pluto.” she said.

The other reason Selene refuses is that she doesn't want to lessen her time spent with her grandchildren every day. She didn't tell them, but everybody could see through her because Selene was so obvious about her obsession with her grandchildren, whom she always visits every day.

The gods agreed with Selene’s suggestion and thus ended their meetings. And they all returned to their chambers to do their task except Selene, who went down to the magic realm to see her family. Meanwhile, Jupiter was riding his pegasus while roaming around the promised land. He was about to strike his thunderbolt, but was disrupted by the sudden explosion. In a flash of lightning, Jupiter arrived at the place of the explosion. His eyes widened because an unknown force had destroyed the seal they had cast in the entire western land. All the high-ranking spirits of divine beasts were flying everywhere, trying to flee and causing havoc everywhere. The peace was once again going upside down.

“This is a total mess!’ Jupiter thought.

Upon hearing the explosion, the other gods also arrive in the western land and witness the chaos. They suddenly have headaches. Now, they can't hold all the divine beasts together without the divine pentagon stone.

“We have to find the divine pentagon stone, no matter what!” Jupiter ordered and everyone immediately scattered to find the stone.

“I can feel the aura of the divine pentagon stone, but it's difficult to locate the exact location. But why does it appear all of a sudden? The stone was missing for so long. Strange. Did someone powerful deliberately make this chaos? Why didn’t I detect it? Who is he?” he thought while looking in all directions.

He uses the divine eye to locate the divine pentagon stone. It took him a while to spot the stone which happens to be floating above him and invisible. He was dumbfounded. It is not a coincidence at all.

He flew upward to take the stone but was suddenly bumped into something hard, causing him to bounce back and he was flummoxed to see the thick invisible shield around the divine pentagon stone. He tried to break the shield, but to no avail, not even a small crack.

As he watched closely, he noticed a hundred and eight thick layers of the invisible shield which formed around the stone as protection.

“What a perverted mind!” he muttered unbelievably.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the magic realm, Alice and her sisters were watching the happenings in the promised land. They focused on Jupiter when he found the divine pentagon stone using divine eyes and now trying to break the layer of shields of the stone. They all burst out laughing at Jupiter's hilarious reaction.
