Rejected By My Mate

Chapter 94

Alice fluttered her eyes and blinked multiple times, somewhat feeling lost in an unknown space. She doesn't know where she is now. She looked around to look for Darius (Destiny), but she couldn't feel his aura. As she recollected her thoughts, she remembered her true purpose.

“Is this the eternal unknown?” she mumbled and gasped when she saw a two-way path ahead of her. Both paths were moving like waves and she felt a little dizzy as she stared at it. Now, where would she go?

When she tried to move, she felt the strong gravity pulling her horizontally, vertically, and in a slanting direction. She felt sick to her stomach when she fell into a swirling motion. She tried to keep her balance and follow the pattern until she got a hang on it. Then she stood still while staring at the two paths intently. She tried using her powers, but nothing came out, which made her speechless. Her heart rate quickens in nervousness and she curses under her breath. Right now, she could only rely on her instinct.

“Is this the trial?” she uttered in between breaths. If choosing a path is her trial, she needs to choose wisely. Although she can't predict the result of this trial, she was still determined to fight.

She closed her eyes and blew some air to calm her nerves. And then she slowly takes a step to the left path with a zigzag way because the other path is straight and looks easy, but looks could be deceiving because the more she stares at that direction the more she feels the danger so she chooses the other way even though it will be a long way or also dangerous. Even so, it's like she has another choice, so she could only walk down the unknown path.

She keeps walking slowly and with heavy steps to the unknown path she chooses that seems endless and full of nerve-wracking gravity. The gravity was even stronger that kept pushing her away, but she fought the pressure even though her nose bled and the cursed chains of fate were now visible in her body as she kept walking deeper and deeper into the unknown, endless path. The deeper she goes, the more her body aches so painfully. She accepts the pain like it was part of her, though it's killing her body and soul. The cursed chains grasp too tight and tried to hurt her baby inside her tummy, but she protected them with all her might. When she was in the magic realm, she sealed all the orbs and diamonds inside her to protect her baby, no matter what. She can accept all the pain as long as her baby is safe and unhurt.

Her mind was buzzing, and she coughed up more blood, but she still went on unrelentingly. The extreme pain she felt is too agonizing and quickly drains her energy, which makes her dizzy, but she forces herself awake even though it's slowly killing her. But she can't give up now.

She kept walking for too long with heavy steps and then she tried spreading out her wings. For a moment, she was thankful that her wings came out. Speckles of golden glitters from her wings were dancing along the gravity like waves of motion. Now the zigzag path ignites with the flames of her wings either horizontally, vertically, or in waves. Because of it, the unknown path slowly revealed the right way, but still so far to reach. She didn’t know how many hours or days she had been walking and with every agonizing step, her body was trembling and her legs were numb with pain. She could only grind her teeth while trying to accept the excruciating pain.

Alice let out a deep breath and slightly felt relief now that she can see the traps that were swirling with gravity like a whirlwind, although there are small traps that she can’t avoid. However, looking at the endless path almost made her cry. She still has a long way to go. She needs to pass through the path she has chosen, no matter how much it hurts. Luckily, she can see the path clearly now and which side she should step and should not. The extreme pain was still there, but she ignored it and continued walking the path without stopping, though it really was too painful for her body and now it affects her soul.

Her soul has the tiniest cursed chains, yet binds her like a ball of thread. She felt like her soul and body slowly separated because of different kinds of intense pain she can't explain. It was as if gravity wanted to take away her soul, but she wouldn't allow it. She knew she was almost at the end of the path and no one could stop her, not even the excruciating pain. Even if she had to crawl all the way, she would do it. If only her power would work, but after using the power of her wings, she can't use it anymore and her wings vanished.

“Argh!” she grunted when something sharp sliced her skin and now it bleeds. Her lips quivered and let out a sharp breath. Her blood was swirling in waves because of the gravity. She felt dizzy and her eyelids began to droop, but she fought the temptation of drowsiness and just continuously blinked her eyes while walking heavily and slowly.

Tears rolling down her face nonstop, she can only show her emotions through her eyes. Without her approval, Blue sacrifices himself for her life on his own accord. It was so sudden that it took her time to react. But it was too late because Blue, together with the two beasts, slowly dissipated right before her eyes. The sacrifice was already made, and all she could do was to mourn bitterly. She lost Blue, and she felt terrible. It was her fault for not noticing that Blue was with her all this time. She didn't even notice that Blue entered inside her and turned into a tattoo on her wrist. She felt so useless.

However, she lost consciousness and fell deeper and deeper into the unknown again. Then she felt an excruciating pain all over her body and stomach. She cried painfully when the life inside her was taken away by force. She tried reaching them, but her babies were getting further and further away from her reach.

Finally, tears streamed down her face when she saw their gender. A girl and a boy. She was happy because somehow they were healthy despite all that happened.

'Yzzabelle... Ezekiel..."

She said in her mind before she fell deeper into nothingness again and lost consciousness. Unbeknownst to Alice, Destiny help her heal her tortured body. Her body was in a terrible shape after all the trial, that's why she couldn't move. Destiny sent back her body safely to the magic realm on a secluded mountain that no one dared to enter because of the heavy pressure. He put Alice's body into a golden transparent cocoon for her body to recuperate slowly, as well as the twins into a separate small cocoon to protect them from dangerous creatures lurking in the forest.

Destiny's action was so careful and calculated, so that the gods and goddesses can't see Alice's body because it was not the right time yet. He can't allow the future to change again. Now that Alice can no longer control fate or even change it, he can finally rest and relax after the chaos. But he was keeping an eye on Alice's children because their future was interesting.

Alice doesn't know how long she was unconscious, but she suddenly regained consciousness, although she couldn't open her eyes or move her body. It was like she was trapped and pinned in a corner. Fortunately, she could hear the surroundings. She wanted to cry when she heard baby voices calling her name multiple times while knocking on something. The sound was so muffled but she could still hear it. She couldn't be happier because her babies know her name. Whoever told them her name, she was so grateful. She wanted to see them, but each time she tried to reach the tiny light, the light would vanish, which made her hope come crumbling down. She felt helpless every time. Although listening to the voices gives her new hopes and spiritual strength.

Just hearing her baby's voices every day made her heart squeeze tight. She had to find a way to see them and held them in her arms. The longing she felt was killing her.

How much damage does her body take? Why does it take too long for her to recover?

Her heart pounded nervously when she heard something crash and an unfamiliar woman's voice. The woman was trying to break something, and the knocking was too loud in her ear, but then it stopped after a while.

Then she heard the woman mumbling a cocoon.

“Does that mean I was inside a cocoon? Is that why my babies were knocking all the time?’ she thought and felt bad. Her babies were alone all this time without someone taking care of them. Tears streamed down her face and her heart clenched painfully.

She heard the woman's name is Ashley, and it surprised her when Ashley uttered the name she wanted to name her babies.

“How did that woman know?’ she thought in surprise.

She didn't feel danger with the woman's presence, so she felt slightly relieved and could only listen to the woman talking to her children.

Every time the woman called her and knocked on her cocoon, a light gradually formed and it became bigger and bigger each time, but it still wasn't enough for her reach. The woman kept trying to wake her up and subconsciously transfer some energy to her body, which was surprisingly effective because she felt more awake. She knew that any time, she would wake up.

She keeps listening to Ashley teaching her babies how to talk and read. Whoever Ashley was, she has to repay her kindness when she wakes up. Taking care of her baby in her stead is a big responsibility and yet she does it willingly. She will be indebted to her forever.
