Chapter 71: The Unveiling And The Cry
KYLE'S POV
A few weeks had past since the new pack members had come in and from what I could tell, they worked for him because I recognized their face. Now I felt something bad was going to happen soon and my heart hadn't been at peace ever since but Kiera told me they all left him after they found out she had left but I didn't believe it now. I think that she lied. There is something up and I must find out what it is but I have to tell Lyra about what I know before it is too late. I have been feeling guilty since we got together.
Tonight, I got a reservation in one of the finest restaurants to celebrate us. I also want to celebrate her, she is so perfect and I am the happiest man alive to have her as my woman.
"Hey baby," I smiled at Lyra as I walked into her office and went straight to her and kissed her forehead.
"Hi," she blushed while her friends gave her a knowing look. I like seeing this reaction on her. I found it cute.
"Are you up for a dinner date tonight?" I asked her still touching her hair. I liked the feel of her.
"Um, I don't really know if I can go. I mean I have a lot of work that I haven't started with," she said to me and I looked at her friends to help change her mind and they understood because they instantly started speaking. "What do you mean by you have a lot of work to do? Have you forgotten that I and Merida are available?" Aria asked.
"Yes, baby girl, you are free tonight. Now you need to get out of here and have a wonderful evening that you will fill us in about later because we are living through you and your prince charming," Merida winked at me while I smiled at them in appreciation.
"Are you guys sure you can handle all of these? I mean they are a lot of paper work," Lyra said to them.
"Seriously darling. Have you forgotten that when you were still recovering it was the both of us that did everything? I am telling you to have a wonderful evening and enjoy yourself because we will finish up everything. You need not worry," Merida smiled at Lyra.
"Okay then. I will be free for a dinner date tonight," she said looking up at me.
"Alright, see you by 7pm sweetheart," I bent down to kiss her cheek and I left her office.
I was walking past the hall way when I saw Kiera and Talion, one of the wolves that claimed to have left him and wanted to start a new life talking. Kiera looked around then collected a small bag from him and he looked at her and told her to make a wise decision and he left.
I watched as Kiera walked hastily to her room while looking around to see that no one was watching.
They are seriously plotting something. I need to come up with something and tell Lyra before all of this blows up in my face, I thought to myself as I made my way to my room.
"Lyra I am very sorry. I did it because.. ahh this sounds stupid. How am going to tell her?" I said as I rubbed my temple in frustration. This was the tenth time I have tried practicing how I will tell Lyra what was going on.
I walked quickly to Lyra house where she lived with Aria and Merida and it wasn't far from the pack house where I said. I didn't think to get a new house to move into because I have lived in the pack house all my life and I had a room there that I was comfortable in.
The dinner went through smoothly and I found out more about her and we just kept on talking about our lives and how we grew up she told me how lovely her parents were and how her mother sang to her every night while she brushed her hair and how she will like to be a mother one day and I really wanted her to be a mother. The mother of our children.
We talked for hours and finally decided to go on a walk before we retired to our rooms. I started to speak wanting to tell her about all of it and how I go to meet Kiera but as I started I was a stuttering mess.
"Lyra, there is something I need to talk to you about," I smiled at her as I held her hands feeling very nervous.
"Yes, what is it about?" She asked.
"Umm, it is about em. You know I am Kiera are friends. I want to tell you.. um. I think we need to sit down to be comfortable so I can tell you this," I said as I quickly became more nervous than before and I led us to the small chair at the park. "If it is about Kiera telling you that I saw her the morning I was jogging and asked her why she was smelling of blood, I was just asking and I meant no harm," she smiled at me.
"You saw her in the morning while you went for a jog? How early was that?" I asked.
"Around 5:30 am, she didn't tell you?" Lyra asked.
"No, she didn't tell me but that is not what I wanted to speak to you about. I wanted to tell you something because there is a high risk that you will find out later and I won't be able to salvage the situation," I said. "Okay, I am all ears, what is it about." She said as she squeezed my hand and smiled.
"Okay, so I found out that Ryker isn't my real father and..."
"Ahhh!" We heard a piercing scream come from the woods.
