Chapter 63
Shi Qing was actually just casually asking. His host was such a local tyrant, so a small cheat should be nothing to him. It’s not like it was going to hinder anything if he learned it, so he didn’t take it too seriously.
After the question, he casually flipped over it. Yet, before he could even take a clear look at the words, he heard the host’s voice, and he was instantly paralyzed.
No? He was rejected?
Shi Qing turned to look at Qin Mo.
In Qin Mo’s eyes, that expression became: QAQ.
The combat power of the teary baby Shi Qing was comparable to a bullet when it came to Qin Mo.
Unfortunately, it was a matter of principles, and it was impossible for him to condone it. Qin Mo frowned and reluctantly ignored the teary baby, emphasizing a single sentence, “You’re not allowed to learn any body splitting type techniques.”
Shi Qing, “Wh…why?”
His voice was very quiet, and pitiful like some kind of small animal. Qin Mo instantly thought of the little panda laying obediently in his palm…With that, the anger bar atop his head was cut in half.
Even so, the host was the host after all. Once you get a mental illness, you’ll never recover. He could indulge him unconditionally if it didn’t touch his bottom line. If he did, then he would only be cut off, no excuses, “No.”
His tone dropped eight degrees. Shi Qing had a great shock, and his whole being was paralyzed.
He really couldn’t figure out how he had provoked Qin Mo and triggered his illness. It was reasonable to say that the body splitting technique was convenient and useful. As long as he learned it, his main body would be able to stay by Qin Mo’s side forever, while his other body could look around. It could even be helpful while they completed their tasks, so he wouldn’t have to be so passive.
It was clearly a beneficial matter, so why wouldn’t the host agree?
Shi Qing was anxious, so much so that his brows were wrinkled together. As soon as he looked down, he happened to glance at the book where he had flipped open.
The first page contained a line of big characters that drove straight into his eyes. It was hard not to see it even if he tried. As soon as he saw that, he couldn’t help but smile…
The book said: This technique does more harm than good, it is not suitable for practice if the user is not desperate. In the later stage of the technique, the disaster of the separation of one’s soul would be triggered, and the suffering arising from the damage of one’s soul would last through one’s life without cure. The split off body was synonymous with the owner, once the body was damaged, the same would be done to the main body.
So it turned out the host was just worried about him!
Evidently, his host was just worried that if he learned this technique, and couldn’t master it, he might end up with a fractured personality and soul for the rest of his life! (Should be something like a split personality/schizophrenia but doesn’t quite translate to that)
Shi Qing was smiling from ear to ear. With that thought to lead him, his brain hole started to run wild, and couldn’t be stopped!
Think about it. The host had such an awkward personality, how could he analyze the pros and cons so painstakingly? He definitely must have felt that it was dangerous and simply cut off those thoughts. Even though his tone didn’t sound good, and his attitude was a little bad, he was still very attentive, okay?!
Shi Qing was touched. He was touched by his mental patient host.
In Qin Mo’s eyes, that complex expression became: ⊙▽⊙
—A smirking teary little baby, the anger bar atop Qin Mo’s head was completely emptied.
He pulled him over and landed a fierce kiss on those curved lips. Shi Qing really was a troublemaker!
Shi Qing was still feeling touched, so even though he couldn’t keep up with the sudden kiss, he didn’t have to. It was just a kiss, and it wasn’t the first time. Besides, it still felt pretty nice.
Shi Qing had only broken free when he was kissed so hard that he was almost out of breath. While panting, he was still thinking about the pile of treasures. He had to gather them up quickly. If any accidents happened and they were taken away, he’d definitely be heartbroken to death.
And so, he threw Qin Mo aside and went back to being a busy bee.
Qin Mo looked at the “Secret body splitting technique” that had been thrown aside on the ground like ‘garbage’, and his mouth curved into a smile, his mood improving.
Anything that could prompt Shi Qing to leave him should just be destroyed—such as that book.
He picked up the book, and just as he was about to turn it into the dust to be set free in the wind, he saw the contents of the first page.
Thinking back to Shi Qing’s behavior, how could he fail to understand? For him the warnings in the book were completely useless. If he really wanted to study body splitting techniques, there were tons of solid collocation techniques out there. Those so-called dangers were not even worth mentioning.
However, it was still quite good to have Shi Qing understand it that way.
He smiled, and a mystical technique desired by so many in the world turned to ashes just like that.
For Shi Qing, the three hours of cultivation between tasks was just like the blink of an eye.
He brought those treasures excitedly into his space, and then made a detailed record. He even carefully arranged them into separate classes and types, and those three hours just flew away.
When the system space opened again, he still hadn’t had enough!
What’s more, with those treasures, he’d never complain about having too much!
Another thought struck him, and he was excited again. He would be able to check the rewards once they returned to the space. They had to seal their memories this time, and even had a secondary mission, wouldn’t the rewards be simply shocking?
So, he quickly pulled Qin Mo back into the system space.
Even though he had already prepared himself mentally, after receiving the news of the reward, his mouth was still wide enough from surprise that it could fit a goose egg.
Oh heavens! That’s too much! His little heart can’t bear it!
Since the previous tasks were done with zero mistakes, and they also had the fortune to trigger a random task, and successfully completed all of them, they managed to accumulate a large amount of experience. As a result, the host’s level improved greatly.contemporary romance
The difficulty of the world was increased because of the sealed memories, so by completing the secondary task as well, they were able to accumulate a great deal of additional experience. When it was all added up, the host had actually reached level 20.
New items are unlocked in the system store with each level, and every ten levels would increase the base value of their rewards.
Before doing the random task, Qin Mo was only level nine, and after the random task, he reached level 16. Speaking of that, the random task really was a good task for a great harvest!
The most recent time, the secondary task had also given them a lot of experience, so he rose to level 20.
When they reached level 20, the base reward for each task was increased to 5000 points.
Furthermore, sealing his memories multiplied it by ten times…
Wait! Shi Qing was surprised to find that the tenfold reward was actually given after the reward points for the secondary task were added in!
The reward for the secondary task was 15,000 points, plus the base points of 5,000, then multiply that by ten…
The final reward Qin Mo received was 200,000 points!
He was completely shocked!
The system’s income was halved, but Shi Qing still got a full 100,000 points!
Was this the legendary insta-local tyrant?
This was too HIGH! ~(≧▽≦)/~
Shi Qing was still counting the zeros excitedly, but Qin Mo had already opened the system store decisively, and instantly spent 100,000 points.
When he saw the small alternating black and white pill in his palm, Qin Mo curled his lips into a smile, and turned to Shi Qing, saying, “Open your mouth.”
Shi Qing, “Hm?” He only widened his eyes, but did not open his mouth.
Qin Mo pinched his chin, and licked those pink lips softly. Unconsciously, Shi Qing relaxed his jaw, and then the pill slid down into his throat.
Gulp. Shi Qing had yet to taste it when it went down into his stomach.
“What was that?”
Without Qin Mo having to answer, Shi Qing heard the notification in his ear.
“Bloodline activated, beginning body strengthening…”
Following that, a bunch of information entered his mind. Shi Qing hurried to receive it, and finally knew what was going on.
Turns out Qin Mo bought the little panda body, and fed it to him.
He clearly remembered that the body cost 100,000 points! Fortunately, those 100,000 points were still very well spent.
The overall quality of this body was very high, and the most important thing was that it was of a levellable bloodline. There was a large space for growth, and there was a big leap ahead for every growth.
The bloodline also came with exclusive skills.
Since the bloodline was currently only at level 1, it only had one skill activated.
Even so, that one skill alone was amazing. It was a powerful defense ability—Iron wall.
It was simply like divine protection. From the introduction there seemed to be practically no attacks he couldn’t defend from. Even if it was only for a short moment, and currently, only a short minute, it could still be extended over time as the skill levelled up.
Even if the time was short, being close enough to invincible was already amazing enough.
With his escape technique, and now the iron wall, Shi Qing expressed that if he got one more strong attack skill, he’d be completely satisfied.
Even so, at that moment, there were more important things.
Shi Qing looked to Qin Mo, and said earnestly, “Thank you!”
Even though he could afford it as well, it was more touching for the host to take the initiative to buy it for him, right?
Seeing that his system’s mind was going to trail off to some touching and completely out-of-style scene, Qin Mo turned around and lightly coughed, “Don’t waste the rest of the points, use them all on raising your physical qualities.”
Shi Qing suppressed the tide in his heart, and listened to him seriously, even nodding continuously, “Okay, no problem!”
Qin Mo had around a hundred thousand points left on him too, and he also used it to strengthen his body.
Speaking of which, it wasn’t easy to strengthen your body. In the beginning, the point requirements were smaller, but once you reached the later stages, the amount would be increased at an exponential rate. When taking into account the requirements of having to improve the body based on the body’s conditions, it was rather difficult overall to do.
No matter how difficult it was though, throwing in 100,000 points had still turned Shi Qing into a superhuman.
Of course, he didn’t spend all of it. He still had six points to spare, on the one hand so that he could send emergency system prompts, and another to reserve some commonly used medicines, utility tools, and so on.
At the end, all he was left with was 20,000 points.
After both of them were ready, they pressed the button together, and welcomed the next world.
The long world background appeared on the big screen.
Shi Qing looked over it, and couldn’t help but be surprised.
This…was so complicated!
Even though he had experienced the beast world where men could have babies with each other, the world background this time had still refreshed Shi Qing’s three views.
Were only guysxguys, girlsxgirls, or guysxgirls no longer enough for this world? What’s with having six sexes in this world?
And what does Alpha, Beta, and Omega mean?
Even though he had used the universal language scroll long ago, he was still very confused when he saw those words!
And those terms, aren’t they too straightforward?!
Estrus, Heat, Marking, Possession…
Well damn! What will they do if the host turns into an Omega?
Thinking up to there, his little panda ears perked up…
Author has something to say:
Stupid Shi, you’re thinking too much.
Sorry for the delay. I’ve been trying to push to get PUP finished up while also living my busy life. You may think that I have more time now with all that’s happening, but since my children are no longer in school it’s waaaaay the opposite. I have less free time and more mess. And that is just fine.
I had someone contact me, interested in taking over this novel. I am very torn because, to be honest, I don’t want to pass it along. Like, is this my 10th child? I’m not sure. I have worked hard to make it high quality and enjoyable to read, and would be a little devastated if the quality were to drop. However, I feel guilty that I don’t provide a consistent rate of updating, and I know that there are many translators who do a great job in a much shorter time. Not to mention it’s not like I actually tangibly gain anything other than the intrinsic enjoyment of doing it and having people read and compliment me I guess lol. Other than that one amazing person who sent me a kofi. For now I’m going to keep going, with hopes that the soon to come wrapping up of PUP will free up more time for this one. Also, I find this novel more enjoyable to work on. I think it’s related to the author’s writing style? And I prefer this story. Feel free to weigh in.
Whoops that got too long. I’m gonna go eat some delicious oreos.
