Chapter 4: "I'm A What"
I got my stuff unpack that night not bothering if I didn’t get enough sleep. I don’t start school until Wednesday so I slept in today. A knock came to my door as I was getting dress. I called out that I’ll be right there throwing on a robe over me. I ran to go open the door to find Gavin on the other side.
“Gavin! What brings you to my door on this fine afternoon?” I ask him while inviting him in my room.o to
“It’s raining.” He told me walking in the room.
I shut the door behind him “Oh, well this wet afternoon.” I rephrased.
“I’m here to escort you to Mrs. Johnson office.” He told me.
“Good, cause I was about to just check every room until I found her.”
“That’s what I’m there to stop. Go her dress Anglia.” He told me with a small smile.
“Gotcha! Be out in a minute.” I told him.

“OK, which one do you like better Kettle Popcorn or Butter Popcorn?” I ask Gavin.
We were now on are a way to Mrs. Johnson’s office. I decided to just ask Gavin random questions after a few minutes of complete silence. Right now I learn that he prefer chocolate over vanilla, books over tv, and dark over light. Which looks like Gavin and I have a lot in common.
“Kettle.” He told me.
“We must be related or something because I like Kettle Popcorn too,” I told him.
He gave me a hesitant smile “Here’s Mrs. Johnson’s office Anglia.” he said stopping in front of a door.
“Thanks, G. I’ll see you around,” I told him with a wave before heading into the office.
“You Anglia Deon?” The women ask when she looks up at me.
“The one and only. They told me you’ll be able to tell me what to expect out of this place.” I told her taking a seat in a chair in front of her desk.
“Yes, let me see your schedule.”
I hand her my schedule taking a look around the room. Her office was more warming than Haven was. It had pictures everywhere of her family and other things. The room was colored in a dark blue. Like Haven’s office, she had couches and a desk. Mrs. Johnson was a big curvy woman and I can tell with the desk between us. Her long dark hair falls down her shoulders. She was a beautiful woman and gives off a nice atmosphere.
“Do you know what Reborn Academy is made for?” She asks me.
“No, my mom just flew me off without an explanation. So I’m lost for the most part.”
“That’s why she push this off on me.” Mrs. Johnson whispered to herself.
“I caught that,” I told her.
“I know you can. Here’s the deal I won’t sugar coat anything. You won’t believe what I’m about to tell you, but you’re a hampire.” She told me straight up.
“Hampire? Like half human half Vampire?” I ask her.
“Precisely.”
“I’m a what?” I question in confusion.
“You are here because your half human and vampire. This Academy takes in you guys and teaches them what they need to know. So, you can embrace what you are and help protect against the rogue vampires. We rarely get any newcomers, though….”
“Whoa, you’re going too fast for me. How I’m I even a…My dad was a vampire was he?” I ask her.
“I believe so since I know your mom was a full human. They didn’t tell you anything about this?”
“No. My dad left when I was little and I and my mom don’t get along that well. But I don’t see why she’ll keep this from me and just send me here without any idea.”
“Sorry, but on the bright side the dads vampires usually don’t stay.” She told me.
I gave her a look.
“Sorry, I thought that would help.”
“The athleticism and the very good hearing. Able to take a couple hits better than most girls. And the instincts to fight. Was all in the vampire blood.”
“You seem to be taking this really well.”
“Well? I’ve been a fucking half vampire all my life and didn’t know about it. This has to be a joke or something. I’m I being a puck, cause this is crazy.”
“I spoke too soon.”
My dad was a vampire and he did it with my mom to make me. I wonder if my mom even knew about all of this. That I was a hampire and that dad was a vampire. Like full on the vampire! I don’t remember him going out in the sun at all or him eating either. Just stuck from a styrofoam plastic cup with a red straw…
“My mom knew and didn’t tell me nothing about it,” I spoke out loud running a hand through my hair.
“It’s time anyway.”
“You’ll thank me for this.”
She told me that day I left for the Academy. She just sent me in here blindsided and didn’t care. Knowing that I’ll find this out from complete strangers and didn’t give a shit. Oh, I’m going to kill her the next time I see her.
“Ok. Umm…What next?” I ask her.
“You don’t want to go home?” She asks me.
“I can’t right now or I’ll be going straight to jail,” I told her bluntly.
“Ok. Find. Well, you just go to these classes now. You will be slightly behind from your peers, but I know you’ll be able to catch up. The classes are simple, except the physical classes. Your personal trainer will be Mr. Hall.”
“Ok….This is no punk?” I question.
“No. This is real. If you have any more questions or just need someone to talk to you can always come to me.”
“Thanks, Mrs. Johnson,” I told her with a smile taking my schedule from her.
“Don’t worry sweetie, you’ll do good here.” She told me with a smile.
“Well, see about that. I’m going to go sleep this off.” I told her before walking out the office.
