Chapter Eleven

“Ahhh! Secrets”, Beetle said, pretending to act dumb. His big smile giving him away.
“Frost just sat back and put his hands behind his head.
“Bob. Bob, you wanna watch the cuffs getting locked?” Frost asked in a lowered voice, Beetle nodding his head eagerly at Kam.
“Yep!” he said without opening his eyes nor moving a muscle, he was near dozing off.
“Why’d you run Ryn? You know it made you look guilty”, Beetle said leaning forward so he was near eye level with Kam.
Holey manoley! He's so yummy!
“Had a big guy trying to chase me down, left him eating my dust”, Kam said putting her hands on her hips, hiding her discomfort.
“You did! He was impressed when you fishtailed it outta there, GBNF”, said Frost sounding impressed.
“That’s why we’re here Ryn. Gone but not forgotten”, Beetle clarified.
The penny dropped and Kamryn took a step back. “You mean you didn’t come to thank my father? You’re here to hold me accountable for last night”, she screeched in a lower voice so her father wouldn’t hear.
“Nope! Kill two birds with one stone. Your old man slayed his work, that’s a mighty high praise comin’ from me and Gabe, Frost, ah fuck it! Me and Frost”, said Beetle lifting one arm and scratching his unkempt beard.
“Your old man kept telling us about his kid who did all the work he was hangin’ around Razors, we didn’t expect to have her come visit and then some ...", said Frost lifting his shoulders when Beetle gave him an absolutely filthy fucking look.
“So you do like my work?”
“And then some ...", Frost said again, intentionally knowing it was fucking Beetle off.
“Meaning? What does, and then some mean?” Kam asked crossing her arms.
“You’re feisty Ryn, had to meet the sheila that downed two guys in under thirty seconds tbh”, Beetle said lifting both his wrists again. “C’mon, lock me up”.
“You sure? Something could go wrong”, Kam asked sheepishly.
“Even wrong is alright”, said Beetle staring intently at Kamryn.
“Stop saying shiela, and don’t call me Ryn”, she said going to retrieve a set of keys. Looking at her father who was now snoring softly with his head titled to the side at an awkward angle.
“Then you can help me take my dad back inside and we'll call it a day”.
“Only if you come down and see for yourself, what your work looks like without running off afterwards?”
“If I choose to leave I shall. Running off was never part of the plan, it’s just those guys were so vile. Beside you’d never have caught me on blackguard”.
Nodding his head in understanding Frost smiled at Kamryn.
“Gotta say you aren’t like your old man”.
“Thank God for that”, added Beetle trying to hold his shit together, Frost was starting to piss him off, on purpose. “Here, lock!”
Kam laughed and picked up the hand cuffs and stood in front of Beetle. “IF! If they don’t unlock don’t blame me, I’ve only just finished making them”, she said unlocking the centre panel, so the two round clips sprung open.
“They don’t lock on their own like traditional ones, I need to relock them”, Kamryn said concentrating on what she was doing.
“Do I get to knock you on your arse once they’re on?” asked Frost snickering.
“Ryn can protect me while I’m in custody. Missed her in action last night”, Beetle said smiling.
Kamryn didn’t feel like smiling as well, if anything she felt a little weird standing so close to Beetle if she was being honest.
Bob did a loud snore and then remained silent, while Kam locked the spring-loaded bracelets in place, pulling harder than necessary to make sure they were secure, that didn't bother Beetle in the slightest. Little minx!
She looked up when he looked down and smiled at her again.
He is absolutely yummy!
“What had you makin' somethin’ like this Ryn?”
“None of your business. Now come over here”, she said which had Frost turning on the cushion so he could see what she was going to do.
“This is an idea I had. I know it will work. I just want to know if you can get free”.
Frost wiggled his eyebrows at Beetle who turned back and looked down at the girl he'd named Ryn.
“If I can?”
“I’ll need to make adjustments”.
“And if I can’t?” he asked as Kam flicked a switch somewhere beneath her bench, emitting a low humming noise from a scrappy looking wall.
Pushing him forward with her hands on the centre of his broad back, Beetle shuffled forward. Kamryn came around and lifted the shackles then let go.
Beetle was stuck to the wall. With a loud clunk the centre panel was magnetically attached to the wall, a low hum the only give away that Beetle was in fact, stuck.
"Can you move?" Kamryn asked excitedly.
As much as Beetle tried, he couldn't pry his hands nor dislodge the thick lock between his wrists, the low hum starting to piss him off!
"Fucken hell! No!" he said trying again, this time putting his boot against the wall and yanking as hard as he could.
“A good kidney punch should lie him low for a while”, Kamryn said looking at Frost.
"Pisser!" Frost laughed loudly, waking up Bob.
“Come on dad, time for bed” Kamryn said in a soothing voice, helping her father to stand. Leaving Beetle attached to the wall. “Here are the keys ...” Kamryn said throwing them to Frost “... the switch is under the bench”.
Then she left with a sleepy Bob.
“Well fuck me”, muttered Beetle who was trying to hide the semi that was swelling in the front of his jeans.
“She gotchya again ya’ big lug”.
“That she did!” he grimaced.
